I can tell that they are very thorough in their work, however they are not careful or considerate of you at all. The nail artist cut my cuticles with the metal drill bit twice, and then cut my cuticles with the cuticle clipper once. This was extremely painful during the acetone soak as well. She then proceeded to overfile my nails and the skin around it which caused my skin to break and bleed. She did apologize everytime I brought up how my skin was bleeding but what's the point of apologizing if you're going to do it again?? I understand mistakes happen but if it happens 4 times then it's just a habit at that point. No discount was offered either - I would not pay $120 for this set again. I love going to Japanese nail salons but clearly my nail artist, at least, was not trained well at all. Before the owner brings up I was 7 minutes late to my appointment, I would like to note that I was seated 15 minutes after my appointment time due to them helping another customer with payment. Update: The owner called me herself to offer an apology and full refund. I appreciate the time she took to apologize and she noted that she would do my nails herself if I ever chose to come back to the salon. I understand that being fully booked can cause a nail artist to rush, but I really hope this experience doesn't occur to other customers. The nails themselves were very pretty and well done. admittedly I arrived 20 minutes late due to my extremely slow uber driver. I hesitated whether or not to write this because I thought I'd give this place another chance, but I don't think I'll be back. I tried to be really nice and friendly.. I didn't even get angry when she ripped off my cuticles or filed aggressively at my broken skin. But the amount of blood was something I've never experienced before at a nail salon, so I don't think I'll be back. I was then ushered out 10 minutes before my appt would've been an hour so that a more familiar client of hers can come in. I think she may have said sorry once about my bleeding cuticles, but I could literally see the flesh under and I had a wedding to go to, and it's just now started healing - 2 weeks after the appointment. I'm a little suprised at the reviews here. The nails were expensive for what I had which was quite simple design. (total was about $130-150 including the tip). My circle shape wasn't even perfectly circle. Just an all around strange experience. I'll go back to my regular salon in Rowland Heights even if it's far, who also does Japanese/Korean style+quality nails with products from those countries as well. ------ response to the owner: Compared to the design I originally wanted when making the appointment, yes, this design is way simpler. Maybe this is subjective, but I've gotten extremely complex Japanese designs with all the works: 3d decals, pearl french tips, cat eye, ombre, etc. The design I asked for barely had color on my nails, so I'm sorry if I don't consider a few lines and circles on bare nails complicated. Note: I added another layer of beige transparent polish over the marbling you did, and also the purple polish since what you gave me was just transparent powder - no color. The photo I took outside was what I actually walked out of the salon with. It's not matter of if you caused me discomfort - you did. You quite literally ripped my cuticles off and mangled them, and it hurt - a lot. No matter the time, that shouldn't have happened at all. End of story. I didn't even complain nor asked for any discounts because of it, but I don't appreciate your half baked apology. read more

let me just say that I had the BEST nail salon experience of my life today. I'm going to break everything down by category (get ready for a long but thorough review! I promise it is worth reading): AMBIANCE & SAFETY: SUPER. CUTE. PLACE. everything is pink. and i mean everything; from their gloves (yes they are very sanitary - more on that in a bit), their mini pink heart cushions for your feet to rest on, their tools, their nail machines, pillows, crystal mini chandelier lamps, etc. I LOVE pink and girly things, so even just being inside Hime Nails was like heaven. I told Chihiro (my nail artist; not tech!) that their salon felt like if I went to a nail salon heaven. I had so much fun just admiring everything inside! Candy and hello kitty peek out in places too! They are covid conscious too; which I appreciate :) pink masks! COMMUNICATION & ETIQUETTE: I don't know about you, but if you've been to the average nail salon, there are sometimes technicians who may appear to be speaking in their native language or talking about you in a way that doesn't feel comfortable. not here. no way! Chihiro and Ellen (who did my wonderful pedicure) are SUPER sweet, polite, knowledgeable, and wonderful timely communicators. Chihiro gave me suggestions when I was stuck deciding between nail colors, which art to place on which fingers, the colors of stones, etc. I like that she gave her opinions, but didn't make you feel pressured to do a certain way. I saw in a previous reply that Chihiro is an artist and I completely agree. Please see photos of my beautiful nails (and toes). Beyond the extreme cuteness of all my artwork, if you look closely, you can see different sized stones, pearls, and beads that are placed very intricately. This requires an artist's vision and very precise dexterity. Each stone/gem is placed strategically but also beautifully artistic at the same time. If you look closely again, you can see that on my index finger, there is exactly one white heart that is slightly bigger than the other hearts. There is a lot of consideration for contrast and selection of art. I told Chihiro I wanted something with bling, hearts, roses, and pink and the vision became a dream come true. Chihiro was very knowledgeable and knew exactly what kinds of trends were in, all about the nail shapes, and exactly what kind of artwork I desired. Chihiro was very gentle! Ellen was also VERY precise with my pedicure. Everything looks WONDERFUL. The whole experience was like watching art in the making. literally! so interesting! THE PEDICURE: I have NEVER had such a pain free, comfortable, and relaxing pedicure in my 30 something (won't reveal) years of life. Every time I have had a pedicure, there is at least ONE or a few ouches such as when my cuticles are being pushed back or there's some intense filing of some edge of my toenail. I also hate the rough scrubbing. Overall, i really don't like the typical pedicure because there are a lot of minor discomforts. Not at Hime. Wow, not a single ow moment or discomfort. Ellen was gentle, precise, took her time and was very very careful, and graceful. Even when switching my feet in between the UV machine and alternating my painting of toenails, she was super gentle and always made sure my foot was resting on the cute pink heart cushion. I also have a split nail on my pinky toe , and Ellen was really gentle about taking care of it. She talked to me about it and told me how she would file it towards the shape of the gel to make sure it wouldn't grow out and hurt. SO appreciated! I didn't feel a thing either when she was doing so. I no longer dread pedicures after discovering Hime. I told Ellen I really never had such a nice pedicure; hopefully she reads this and knows exactly why I enjoyed it so much. Thank you, Ellen for not making me scared of pedicures anymore! It is a waterless pedicure, so there is not a tub of water and a bunch of lotions and creams to massage your feet/legs, but I actually appreciate the sanitary consciousness of this process. Ellen was also very precise when applying the high quality gel on my toes. Definitely not rushed or rough like some places would be. Keep up the excellent work, Ellen! THANK YOU, HIME NAILS! Appointment only! At times it can take them a week to get you in. So make sure to book in advance. It's located in a small strip of businesses. They have enough parking for their customers. This salon is small and quite private. It's either Rumi alone, who btw is the owner, or her and another nail technician. She has been in business for a long time and is always up to date on rhinestones and designs. Prices are based on the design and or rhinestones you want. They use a Japanese gel called bio-sculpture, which feels natural and looks amazing. They take their time, you won't feel rushed. Keep in mind this isn't a salon where you will pay $20 or $40 bucks for long lasting gel. Want the basic gel polish that's $40 - one color and $60 for Bio-gel. It's a high-end gel or better said quality gel, that can last up to 6 weeks without chipping. I found this salon 8 years ago after becoming highly allergic to acrylic nails. That was the last time, I used acrylics or low quality gel for my nails. This is the cutest kawaii salon I've been to. Everything is super girly and it makes you feel like a princess. Rumi has a large collection of high-end rhinestones to chose from. Name it, she has it! She gets down and is very artistic as well as anyone she hires. I went to Hime Nails for about 9 months straight last year and loved Rumi's kindness, skill, and creativity. I like to grow my nails really long, and Cal Gel helped make them stronger and isn't as harsh as acrylics. My fabulous nails got so much attention. On top of looking great, they were super durable, I never had so much as a rhinestone fall off. After taking a break from Cal Gel nails for a year, I wanted them on again and decided to try another place that will remain nameless. Total mistake! went in the other day for a full set of gel with designs on 4 nails. my total was $113 with tip. rumi took a lot of care with my nails. she fixed things when it wasnt perfect and took time to make sure it was the right design for me. i got goldish/pink glitter with pink heart confetti, rhinestones, and 3d hearts. i really loved my nails and was glad i didnt have to seat through the smell of acrylic. it was all gel done. i love it. i hope it lasts for a good 3 weeks =). overall, pricey. since there are many of these nail places opening that are cheaper, i do think it would be reasonable to drop the price just a little. her price is the highest of all these salons. althought it is pricey though, i just like rumi because i know she would not make them tacky look and will put a lot of care into them. i love her one on one experience. so yes, it is a little expensive comparatively to other places but they will turn out beautiful. read more

The lady was from Japan, she was very friendly and polite. I enjoyed a conversation with her while she was doing my nails. They had little snack jar next to the sofa I was sat to wait her to finish the customer came earlier than me. The time I visited here was a dinner time so I was bit hungry, she let me eat some chocolate they had in the snack jar. My favorite white chocolate kitkat. The nail she had done is very pretty. I asked her for a Gel-type nail polish, gradation design of ice white color-to-blue glitter combination. Also, treat my nail tips as rounded shape and she did well job on this! I really do satisfied with it when it was done. I would love to visit here again when I get paid for a job and save enough to come here for the expensive designed nail that I originally planned for. I stumbled upon Hime Nails by searching on Yelp for a salon that offers Japanese style nail art in the Anaheim area. I used to live in Tokyo so I am very familiar with this trend and I know what to look for. Unfortunately, no salon offers this service where I go to school. Luckily I found a great salon to go to while I was on vacation. At Hime Nails, Rumi will do your service. She is a very talented artist and she is really nice. The salon is very cute and is decorated in a girly style- lots of pink and lace! There are lots of Japanese nail art magazines to look through for inspiration. Or take a look at her photo albums of nail art. I got 3D art plus stones placed on top of my sculpted nails (pink glitter gradation)! Totally adorable. My nails look so glamorous and are holding up well. Some people are complaining about the price but I think her prices are reasonable. I paid a little over $100 for handcrafted nails that will last a month (or more if I get a fill). That is a good deal to me. Also, I am used to paying almost $200 in Tokyo where I got my nails done. I think that this is an appropriate price to pay for looking good and not having to worry about your nails for a while. Rumi speaks fluent English, so no worries about communication. I wanted to write a review so I can share my experience with Ellen. Let me start by mentioning that I never get my nails done due to risk of infections and UV light exposure. Ellen and Hime Nails have changed that ! Not one thing made me doubt their sanitary precautions, and they use LED light. Ellen is very nice to chat with, made sure I got exactly what I wanted and is a really nice and patient artist, not to mention very talented. You can tell that they really care about their customers and not just in it for the money. As for price I asked upfront how much the design I had in mind was gonna cost, and price she gave me was exactly what I paid before tip. And please understand that while you can get regular gel, I opted for the gel overlay which is available at only a few salons in the US, uses Japanese products and require a certification and training of the artists. Hence the higher price tag than other salons and regular gel. My nails looked as good as new for 3 weeks and I went back for a fill for the growing portion. So the price of gel overlay is so worth it ! I found the prices to be reasonable for the service and very clear and upfront, No hidden fees ! The owner is very responsive when contacted by texts and very accommodating. I really feel valued and appreciated as a customer, and I will continue to return ! read more

I love going here! I've tried other Japanese nail studios and other places just are not as attentive to detail, creative, or friendly. It's a perfect mix here! I usually bring pictures of designs I found online and Chihiro does such a great job matching them. Rumi also does a really wonderful job as well. This is a really small, 2 person staff studio and they work by appointment only but they have all the colors and embellishments that you'll need.
