The hotel stay was great! Check-in was a breeze, and I was offered two bottles of water as a Hilton Honors member. The room was spotless. Usually, I can spot something but there were no inconsistencies. The cleaning staff did an excellent job. Although there is a small refrigerator in the room, you must use the microwave downstairs in the Grab & Go Fresh Market. I found the price to be optimal for the location. The elevators ran promptly, and the room keys did not lose activation. It was a cold weekend, so I opted to keep my vehicle on site, covered, at $60/night, as self-parking is unavailable. Also, because of the weather, we ate at Federal City Bar & Lounge for two nights as the Bistro 525 was not open. The prices are $$$, but we could stay out of the cold, and the bar has great drink options! Some restaurants are within a 15-minute walk, but we didn't want any parts of the cold. A s I lay in bed on our last night, I decided this location would get 5 stars. I found the hotel to be a very nice place and in a great location.

I stayed here for 4 nights on my third work trip to DC this year. From the outside, I thought the hotel looked pretty nice/modern. So I was shocked by how old-school my room looked. I was still fine with my stay and enjoyed the shower and quick elevators.

The view of the capital at night was beautiful. Overall the hotel was pretty good. My room was somewhat dated but the bed was comfy enough and bathroom had a bath tub which is a plus after long training!

This hotel is in a fabulous spot (you can see the capital) and the rooms are quite large for the city. That's where the comforts end. You will be nickel/dimed the rest. There is only Valet, no self parking. There are no Self luggage carts. Service seems to be interested in anything but you. Even if you are a diamond there is no check in water. The only Bar closed at 8:52 on a Saturday. Outrageous! (They want $70 a bottle of cheap wine in the Sundries shop) The rooms are preset to their version of 67 and can not be changed. I posted a pic of the unit. Perhaps someone knows an override? This is a city hotel so you can expect some of these things. Would I stay here again? Only for the convenience and only if I am getting the room cheap. Thank goodness a great bar/restaurant was around the corner.

I stayed here while visiting for a wedding. I am a Hilton Honors member so I got some great service. I had people check in daily from the hotel with my satisfaction. The hotel is located nearby a ton of places - other hotels, restaurants, liquor stores, etc. We were able to walk to all locations we wanted to go to over the weekend. The Capitol Building was less than a half hour walk which was amazing. Upon entry, the view in the hotel was absolutely beautiful. The check in and out times were perfect. We got to check in early with no hassle. It was in a safe part of DC. The rooms were neat, clean, and spacious. Easy controls for temperature and the bathroom was stocked with plenty of towels and usual amenities. Everyone was friendly and the service was amazing. Downsides were no breakfast included, one unlabeled and difficult to find ice machine, and limited meal options. I bundled the hotel with flights but it was very affordable. I would definitely come back and stay here if I visit DC again.

Excellent location, close to Union metro station and train stations. Within walking distance to Capitol Hill, Library of Congress, and also Chinatown, Capital One Arena, and National Portrait Gallery. National Postal Museum is a five-minute walk away and a pleasant surprise for us; we didn't expect to enjoy it as much as we did! Highly recommend going there as it's likely not as crowded as the other museums. The two dining establishments serve excellent food too. Classy but not fussy! Friendly servers and staff. There's a little mini market by the Registration counter; you pay for your purchases at the counter. The hotel was under renovation when we checked in. Bedroom was basic but clean and comfortable. We didn't have any views though but that's ok since we didn't come to DC to spend time in our room anyway!

I had a great 3-night stay at the Hilton Washington DC. We arrived early to DC but we're able to check into our room early. The room was nice and clean with a large comfy king bed, plenty of storage space, a nice desk and lighting. The shower was a bit finicky to switch between the faucet and shower head. There was construction going on in the lobby and restaurant. Regardless, this did not interrupt our stay. The hotel is centrally located. You can see the Capitol building from the street and the National Mall is a quick Uber ride away. The weather was great so we ended up walking there. Overall a great place to stay during your time in DC!

For about a month or two I was not having the best of luck when it came to travel. It kind of hit a peak here. I was in town for a work thing and was being put up here. It was convenient, especially since I knew the area pretty well. Being that I was out of town for work and being put up here, it was all taken care of on their end. This is where the mix up started. Upon check in I was only responsible for necessities. But the hotel wanted to charge me the whole amount for the room for my stay. There was a lot of back and forth between me, the staff, and who set up the room. Once that was figured out I thought I would be good. Finally, with key in hand, I went up to my room. Now, I thought check in was a hassle, but what happened next just made it so much more of a hassle. I get off the elevator, make my way to the room, scan the keycard, and open the door to a surprise. Turns out I was just checked into a room that was already occupied. Once I opened the door I was greeted with a suitcase opened on the bed with all it's contents all over as well. I never met who the owner of the suitcase was...why...well, because they were in the shower, in the bathroom. So I just noped my way out of there and headed my way back down to the front desk. Funny thing when I headed back down to the front desk, the staffer was not as amused as I was at that point. See, when I headed up to the room and after the initial check in fiasco we joked about the confusion and I had said if anything else would go wrong I would let him know. He said that he was done in ten minutes and it would be someone else's problem. Well, my amusement translated to his surprise. When I informed him why I was back down there, he did not believe me at first. I don't know the specifics about why this happened, but it could have been that someone had checked another person into what was to be my room. To make things right, which I was not looking for, I was just looking to get to my room and drop my stuff off, they upgraded me. Now when you think about it, in DC that isn't much. I got upgraded to a room on a higher floor with a Capitol view. They also wanted to comp a meal or something while I was there (I did not use this, I hardly had time to have a meal in house or order room service). My Capitol view, was basically a view of the dome and all the rooftops of the nearby buildings and buildings looking towards the Capitol. The room was bigger than what I was expecting. Decent sized and plenty of space to throw my stuff about. Tons of outlets to accommodate all my electronics I brought with me. The bathroom was even big, not like other hotels. The only thing that was smaller than normal was the closet. It also was hard to open, so I just put my suitcase behind the door since there was ample space. The TV swiveled out and was able to be angled to wherever you were sitting in the room. I really enjoyed the headboard light, it gave the perfect amount of glow to make the room comfortable to fall asleep. As for the rest of the experience, it was enjoyable. The staff were all really great to interact with. Some of my colleagues ran into some troubles. One that decided to park at the hotel, which was valet parking, had to park himself, but pay the valet rate. That doesn't seem right. After check out, I was good. I reassured the front desk I didn't need anything comped and made my way out.

We had a great experience here. Room was clean and spacious. Staff was friendly, courteous and helpful. Would definitely stay again.

New bar area.

I stay at this hotel often. Hilton has done major upgrades to this property. Completely redesigned the lobby, added the pantry and moved the bar to a more central location. Nice views of the capital. The rooms are large and comfortable. Comfortable beds. Convenient to many locales in the city.

Bed bug bites
Bill N.

Yikes, bed bugs! Eaten alive by one of the biggest names in hospitality. 3rd floor room adjoined a noisy meeting space, thin walls and boisterous people everywhere. Hilton could not move me because they were fully booked. As if that weren't enough, the restaurant food was awful. The only exception a sirloin steak served in the bar area. Otherwise menu items hardly, barely matched descriptions on the menu. Looking at you "Griddled" breakfast sandwich...pfft Reconsidering my Honors membership. Will try another hotel in the future.

That jetted tub was supposed to earn its keep. The room: genuinely beautiful. The technology: aggressively dated. The vibe: a 90s time capsule, complete with missing doorknobs. There was effort here, but it felt like the hotel was holding its breath, afraid any real investment might trigger the next recession. What they got right: The bellhops were fantastic. Warm, personable, fun. Truly the highlight. Most staff we interacted with were polite and willing to help, which made the gaps elsewhere even more confusing. What they got wrong (beyond the dated room and tech): For a hotel that loudly advertises luxury service, the customer experience fell flat. Outside of the arrival bowl of fruit, nothing felt elevated. Night two, we ordered pizza and planned a cozy Home Alone movie night. The technology made streaming impossible. Fine, cable it is. We called the concierge and asked for two plates. Just two. The answer was a flat no. We were told to walk down to the lobby restaurant and see if they might have plates "to spare." I'm sorry, what? The next morning, room service arrived... with someone else's order. It was corrected, but for a luxury hotel, that kind of miss is surprising. Housekeeping came through, but only halfway. The coffee and minibar were never restocked. In a suite. At a luxury hotel. This is table stakes. At 9:30 PM we stopped by the lobby circle bar. It was immediately clear the bartenders did not want to be there. I get it, service work is hard. Still, opening our interaction by warning us about last call at 11 set a strange tone. By 10:00, one bartender disappeared for 45 minutes. No refills. No check-in. No bill. Breaks are important. Coverage is also important, especially when you're selling a premium experience. Beyond the bellhops, much of the staff felt irritated to be present. Front desk to concierge, the energy was less "historic luxury hotel" and more "counting down the minutes." The hotel was also clearly prioritizing weekend tea and brunch revenue, to the point that the historic lobby was clogged with extra tables and largely unusable for actual hotel guests. Bottom line: this was not a luxury experience, and I would not recommend it. I'm only posting this publicly because I reached out directly to hotel management and never received a response. At that point, a review feels necessary.

Too bad stored blankets were unavailable for sleepers wanting more warmth than their traveling companions. We had to make a second request for one. May I also suggest providing more than one bar of mini soap bars. It's such a minuscule cost item but would obviate having to repeatedly move the precious one bar from sink to shower. We found the valet staff particularly helpful especially when navigating awkward arrivals and parking needs of our personal guests. Sean was a prince. He supervised an otherwise complicated set of logistics with competence and gentlemanly grace. Another shout out to the manager ( sou?) of the breakfast dining. We watched him rigorously oversee staff and guests while occasionally stepping in when helpful. His leadership is likely responsible for the professionalism of said staff. This is in direct contrast to the staff of the Willard across the street where we took the first breakfast of our stay. We were dismayed to have to endure extremely loud staff socializing, boisterous laughter and downright flirting. This type of behavior would have been unacceptable at the JWMarriott. The price for a room I guess because of the multiple conventions in the place was excessive. I think for a room, not a suite, it would have ben $750 per night during the week. I thought that was a lot so we used points, and the 1st night they had not held our King Room for us, and despite being our anniversary, we had to sleep in a double room and move the next day. Unfortunately, the double room was quiet, and the King Room had an adjoining door and we heard every little thing from the room next door. Karim at the front door started off the experience, all smiles and never let me open my own door. The hotel itself is immaculate, very beautifully decorated and very well located. The staff at Estuary absolutely stole the show though, we must say. We are a family of 4 and were celebrating my daughters 8th birthday trip. From the second we met Asia and Shawnae at the host stand we were made to feel like family! Their warmth, love for the children and willingness to do anything to make their stay enjoyable was so genuine and greatly appreciated! Asia in particular went above in beyond any way she possibly could. She spent time with us, offered suggestions, and left us feeling like we have family here at the Conrad.
