Hilton Austin Valet review: I pulled up for an event at the Hilton Austin, And I wanted to valet my BMW. I always valet, That's just what I do. The valley attendant asked me if I was checking in and I said, No I was here for an event. He asked me which event and when I told him he said he was unable to valet my car because there was a traffic jam in the garage and I would have to drive around the block and park in the hotel parking garage on my own. I looked at him with a quizzical expression because why were you all of the sudden unable to valet my car when you found out what I was there for and also if he couldn't park my car how would I be able to park my car. He left me no option but to drive around the block and enter the parking garage. I did not see a traffic jam anywhere. I drove around for about 5 minutes and found a spot near the elevators. Easy breezy. Anywho, I am a Hilton Honors member, I stay at Hilton often for work and travel and unfortunately this was not the best experience from the valet team. read more

Stayed here over the Thanksgiving weekend for 5 nights. I am a Hilton Honors member so I always try and stay at a Hilton property. Very nice hotel, beautiful lobby and central location in downtown. This may not be a good thing though. On the second night of our stay the fire alarm went off in our room sometime around 4:30 am. We were startled awake and jumped out of bed to get dressed preparing to evacuate. After 15 to 20 seconds the alarm turned off. We had no idea what was going on. They have a speaker announcement system in each room for the fire alarm but there was no announcement that it was a false alarm and everything was fine. Decided to just stay in the room and go back to bed since I assumed they would not cancel the alarm if it was really a fire. Checked with the desk the next morning and no one knew anything about the alarm. I found this very odd that no one knew about it. When an alarm goes off in a system like this it is not isolated to one room. Never got an answer about the alarm. Move forward to Friday evening coming back to the room after a night out and there was loud thumping bass resounding in our room and I am guessing most of the rooms facing 6th street. Since I had a couple of drinks I was able to get to sleep. Saturday evening was a different story, we had an early Sunday morning flight so we were back in our room around 10:00 pm after visiting friends who live locally. The thumping bass was even worse. It went on until I got out of bed at 3:00 am to catch an early flight out of Austin. I did not sleep at all Saturday evening. I knew it would be futile to call the desk since they had no control of what was going on out on 6th street. I was miserable. We informed the front desk on the way out that morning and all they could say was sorry and to make sure to tell about it when I get my satisfaction survey. Obviously not satisfied. If you decide to stay here you need to ask for a room as far away from the 6th street side as possible. If you plan on staying a Friday and Saturday evening you will have to deal with the noise around the hotel. As a Hilton Honors member we were supposed to get 2 waters a day in our room. On the 3rd day we asked the front desk and they sent up 4 bottles of water. Should not have had to ask. I do not think I will ever stay here again. read more

I chose a high-floor room with a skyline view during my stay in Austin, and that turned out to be a great decision. The staff throughout the hotel were consistently helpful and friendly, which made the experience even better. The bed comes with four pillows, though they were a bit softer than I personally prefer. One thing I wasn't a big fan of was how quickly the room's lighting automatically shuts off--even while sitting and watching TV, the lights would turn off after a short time. On the positive side, the shower was excellent. It features a rain-style shower head, which often means low pressure, but this one had strong water pressure and was great. The rooftop pool and bar area offer an excellent view of the city and are a great place to relax. The fitness center is solid as well, with several pieces of equipment and a separate space for fitness training. The room has a circular table instead of a traditional desk, which I personally would have preferred, though it may work perfectly fine for other travelers. Both valet and self-parking are available (for a fee), and I really appreciated the convenience of mobile check-in and keyless entry. One small observation: the TV channel guide seems off--MTV programming never seems to match what's actually playing, something I've noticed in Hilton hotels across the country. The location is another highlight, with easy walking access to Sixth Street where you'll find plenty of bars and a few nearby restaurants. The room was not so great;hense the 3 starts, however, the thing that I really, really have to absolutely compliment was that we were there for a conference and the chef made the most beautiful and delicious food. The conference was Foundations in Cardiology, and it was a couple of weeks ago. It was the best food that I have ever had at a conference. It was even better than what I would even imagine or expect. It was so healthy, it was so fresh, it was so delicious. Everything was really nice and warm. The salads were really nice and cold. It was an 11 out of 10. You can tell too that the chef felt really proud because he and his crew took a few pictures of the food before the guests came out. That really just shows how excited and proud he was of his dishes. Would highly recommend this chef and his team at Hilton Austin for their wonderful, wonderful food. If I had a wedding here and that was my food, I would have been thrilled. read more

I stayed at the Hilton Austin for a work trip. Our company had set up a conference meeting here at this hotel. Everything was very organized. We were able to get situated. I was able to do a mobile check-in couple days prior. I was able to choose my room which is a great perk. However, I feel like it could be not beneficial if I'm not familiar with the layout and some of the auxiliary situations. However, it is not something that one of the other hotel chains does, so it's a feature to have. The lobby's really big and grand. The lobby is out in the open and almost unassuming area and once you're checked in and elevators are to to the side. The tower is built tall with not that many rooms on a floor. This did cause a couple of issues after the end of our conference. When everyone was going back to the rooms it would take a while to get back. Some people were taking the stairs instead which is probably better option. There are a couple dining options here, there's a taco place. The Hilton here is located right next to the convention center, so this is a great place, especially if you have any conferences at the convention center or right here in the hotel. The front desk staff were not warm and hospitable, the room maintenance was seriously lacking (several lights and switches not working), facilities were out dated, and the elevator situation was absurd (6 elevators and only 1 working at a time). More than once there was literally a line formed into the lobby for the elevator. This is not acceptable in a facility that is hosting more than one event or conference in addition to several floors of guest rooms. read more

Oh Hilton claiming to be a 4 star hotel.... I've seen motels better up kept. Let's begin with the skyline view room. 18th floor... ok good start. Look out the window looking at the middle of other buildings. Not exactly a skyline. Then looking down seeing a roof with trash piled on it. Seriously? I pay all this money for a 4 star hotel and this is the view I get? Moving on. Room itself is nicely sized. King bed. Comfy couch. Has a mini fridge. Ok but where's my microwave? Once again even some motels have microwaves! Breakfast is NOT included but you can buy it for $31/day per person. Other hotels include it. The bathroom.... Mirror has visible damage, air vents are not regularly cleaned. Shower head shows buildup. Though toilet flushes! Hooray for that. Pool area is relatively small. Cool that it's on the roof of the 8th story but hot tub is well just barely hot and has very few jets. I can get a better one for the backyard for the price of a couple of nights here. Pool, didn't jump in but was overfilled and splashing onto the floor with every breeze. Internet... they give you a password, but for what? The WiFi is an open (thus dangerous) network which any hacker can get onto with no security. God forbid you try to use vpn with it, you can't browse anything then. If you want faster internet it will cost you. People what year do we live in that a 4 star hotel isn't giving you free secure high speed internet?! Building is pretty. Staff are nice. Sure sometimes they forget to take out the trash and just make the bed. Oh and they seem to have grabbed my white shirt mistaking it for a towel and left a towel behind instead. Many of the elevators were broken and we were not informed of this before checking out so the line for elevators was nearly an hour and we were on the 12th floor. The valet parking is very expensive. ELEVATOR DISASTER!!! Valentines weekend and 2 of the 6 elevators are working. According to other guests, it's been this way for over a week. 15-20 minute waits just to go down to the lobby! Listen this isn't a five star hotel but it's probably a 4 at the most. Everything was clean and the AC was cold. The pool and hot tub were clean and well taken care of and it was salt water which was really nice. There's a full Starbucks downstairs and it's an easy walk to wherever you need to go downtown. We are here for Austin City Limits and it's a short walk to Republic Square to ride the bus in which is nice. Parking is pricey but we are downtown and at least it's underground. read more

Came here for a conference. It was a lovely time here and was met with very sweet staff who were serving coffee and cleaning and other back of house positions. Front of house staff were a bit cold. A few of my colleagues stayed here and they said it was an okay experience mostly because there was a ton of people here because it's in a centralized spot / conference and it made it louder than they would like. It was pretty simple to navigate this place. Most of the escalators are on one side of the building. There is a skyway on the 6th floor if you need to get to the convention center which is clutch because it can get hot outside. read more

While I was waiting in line to the Starbucks a Hilton security guard had to come up and harass me act crazy and threaten to call the cops because I was standing like Normal waiting and in line to get a limited exclusive Starbucks release, the guard went and lied to the female manager, the manager made no sense nor the security guard and refused to let me have my Hilton hotel room. No sign was posted that I could not wait early like everyone else who came early the day before opening and got the exclusive but for some reason only attacked, harassed and blocked a hotel room by a Hilton honors member, myself. This Irrational unprofessional and delusional behavior is not what their job position states and this is negligence on Hilton and the security company for not training and allowing this- I highly recommend the management watch the cameras and fire the guard and manager immediately to avoid being sued for negligence and more for their liabilities they create. No hilton nor guard has ever behaved like this and this is not how you run a hotel nor how you treat paying guests at a hotel. Many people complain about this location and go through employees & now I see why -no one would want to work or stay around delusional problems like this.Hilton honors members and owners circle should never be treated like this it's against the policy's and laws. The ignorance witnessed is inexcusable and the staff has zero communication and reasoning skills they are not eligible for the job they collect a paycheck for, thus they attack customers and block money and ruin business. Not a good stay. Current still in room. Bathroom has locked us in on 3 separate occasions. One in the middle of the night while preparing for our company meeting held at the hotel. This is ridiculous. Then the front desk receptionist with the Curly hair and nose ring. Disabled my card at for no reason and was requesting I show valid id that I'm a guest in the hotel. But then gave me the card back and some free exiting passes for the parking garage. Doesn't do any good when I come back and I can't get into my room at 3AM. This is down right pathetic service. Plus the elevators were out of service for the majority of the stay and when they did start working only 2 were in service out of 6-7 elevators in total. The maintenance staff did not replace the bathroom lock so we could not use the restroom I privacy forcing us to use the restroom and shower with an open door. There was no support for the staff of the hotel and reception was poorly trained in customer service. If it is up to me, I would never come back here and I will be forwarding this to my Company liaison to make sure we choose other avenues for future meetings. read more

I've always loved Hilton Hotels due to its reasonable prices, hospitable staff, and amazing quality! I chose this hotel due to its location. Very accessible go bars/clubs/restaurants. Upon arrivang, my friends and I were greeted and welcomed by this hotel's amazing staff! There is this amazing lady who stood out. She was very hospitable, kind, happy and passionate about her job and I loved it! Her energy was radiating everywhere, she was eclectic! Her name is Lala. She was the best and made our stay memorable! Also, thanks to the amazing server(guy) and impeccable host(lady) at Austin Taco Project. I forgot to ask their names but they were great! As a Hilton loyalist and frequent guest, the Hilton Austin is one of the worst hotels I've stayed in. It's not the room or the amenities that was the problem, it's the location and its proximity to the local bars and nightclubs. The noise is SO BAD that it was impossible to get a good night's sleep. I stayed here 6 nights during the SXSW festival, so the rates were crazy expensive. As a HHonors Diamond member, I was upgraded to the Executive Floor, which was nice. The hotel has a small lounge that offers a complimentary continental breakfast and afternoon snacks daily. You could enter the lounge during regular hours to grab a bottle of water or soda, free. A nice perk if you book the Executive Floor. My stay started off on the wrong foot. It took forever to check in, but not because there was a long line at the front desk (there was not). The employee doing our check-in was acting like a salesperson, trying to get us to pay more to upgrade to a suite. I repeatedly had to tell her "no," but she was persistent about what a "great deal" it was, blah blah blah. FINALLY she gave up, but it was a major annoyance. You need a room key to get to your floor, so make sure you swipe it in the elevator. And don't even think of trying to sneak into the Executive Lounge without a proper key (and there's an employee to make sure you are eligible for access). The elevators are slow and crowded, so don't waste time if one is open. There's a Starbucks and a small bar in the lobby, as well as a Mexican restaurant on premises. My husband ate at the restaurant and said it was pretty mediocre, and we had overpriced drinks at the equally mediocre lobby bar twice during our stay. Local bands played live music in the lobby too, which was fun. The hotel is within walking distance of most of downtown Austin and is steps from the Austin Convention Center, and its location is a huge positive but also a major negative. Parking is expensive, and the hotel is right across the street from bars and clubs that feature LOUD live music until the wee hours. We noticed the noise stopped around 2 am, but it was literally 7 days a week. We were on the 25th floor but still couldn't sleep because it was SO LOUD. I cannot imagine how loud the sound was be from the lower floors. Our room was comfortable and appeared to be recently renovated. We had a great view of downtown Austin and plenty of room. The in-room refrigerator was a nice touch, and everything felt clean and modern. I didn't like that we had to request housekeeping service, which is an additional pain when you need extra towels, etc. The a/c unit was terrific and kept the room ice cold. I can imagine how important this would be during the hot, humid Texas summers. I didn't hate this hotel, but I would not stay here again because of the noise. It made my stay absolutely miserable. I see from previous reviews that there was a problem with the elevators back on Valentine's Day. It is now February 28th and it is still happening. I was here for a conference and meetings and stayed 5 nights. The room was fine and I was on the top floor (26), which I was excited about, until I experienced the elevator situation. Only two elevators were working, which was a problem the whole time I was here. Lines in the lobby for the elevator during check in. Very hard to get down to my conference on time because when the elevator finally arrived on my floor it was already full because people would jump on even if it was headed UP because they were so desperate to get an elevator. The thing that really pisses me off reading these reviews is that the staff has acted the whole time like this is some special circumstance and we should just bear with it and now I read this has been the normal state for weeks (maybe longer). Also, on the weekends there is loud club music playing until 2am so there is a constant THUMP THUMP THUMP noise and my friend on a lower floor said kids were running up and down the halls banging on doors until 2am. Updating my review, since Hilton Austin's staff messed up during my last morning. I should have read all the other reviews commenting about how rude and undertrained the staff is in this Hilton. One of the elevators on my floor was not working (the door would not open) I waited for an elevator for 10 minutes, the broken one would come up every time and the door would not open. I called the front desk and they simply said: "we know". When I asked for a sign on the door they said: can't do, but will see if maintenance can. The wipes container at the gym was empty, the employee at the gym told me I should call maintenance to have them replaced. Shouldn't that be one of the tasks the gym employee does? Bottom line for this updated review: if you come to Austin for a conference, want a comfortable and clean bed, but don't mind being treated like your business is not important to the Hotel's employees, then this Hilton is your place! If you are in Austin for a convention, this is definitely the hotel to stay at! The Hilton Austin Downtown has a sky bridle directly into the Convention Center. I stayed in a king size bed room, and it was very roomy, had a very nice couch by the window with a gorgeous view. Pretty horrible...I'm a Hilton Honors member and reserved a specific room days before I arrived. When I arrived that room was NOT available and was unable to even check in. The front desk person told me that I'd get a call when the room was ready. I never received a call and had to leave my bags with the bellman. Had to wait until evening to check in. Also, the shower had a very sloooow drain, so had to use it quickly or it would overflow! When I checked out, I let a guy at the front desk know about it, but he didn't apologize or seem to really give a damn. Very strange that you have to make a special request to get your room cleaned. I wasn't told this when I checked in and the only clue was a sign stuck on the bathroom mirror? This felt like I was staying at an Econolodge or Red Roof Inn..unbelievable! Another highlight was a screaming child who almost tripped the fire alarm on the floor I was on late at night before his parents stopped him...Good times!! The room itself was fine though - clean and comfortable bed. Really nice! We were at the Sheraton but their pool was out of service, construction/renovations of rooms, etc. We were able to use the pool at the Hilton which was really nice. Standard rectangular size with plenty of lounge chairs. The bar was closed but we could scan a QR code to order from the Hotel restaurant downstairs Tacos & beer. A server brought up the food and drinks. Salt water pool and the temperature was great! Nice and refreshing. The bathrooms were fantastic! They had lockers, stalls, showers, sauna and steam rooms. My husband and I stayed here for one night to celebrate our Anniversary. We drove into the parking garage and after finding a spot we took the elevators to the lobby. The lobby was really nice and well lit. It was a large area with places to sit, restaurants, and a Starbucks. We saw the check-in area where several people were working. We walked over to a man and began our check-in process. The man behind the desk was very friendly and greeted us with a smile and answered all of our questions. When we told him we were celebrating our Anniversary he upgraded us to a suite. It was a delightful surprise. We also asked for a later check out and he gave us a little bit of extra time which we appreciated. After getting our key we headed up to our room. It was a great room with an awesome view of Austin downtown. It was really spacious, well lit, and had two large windows with views. The room had a dining table and a living area. The air conditioner worked really well keeping the entire suite cool during our stay. The Bedroom was large and there was lots of space to move around. The closet was a decent size and there was a sitting couch in front of the window. The bed was nice and comfortable and the pillows were nice and soft. The bathroom had two separate spaces. The shower and sink were in one room and it was a good size with a bright well lit mirror and decent size counter with storage spaces. The shower/tub was a good size with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The toilet was in a separate room that was very spacious. Overall it was a positive overnight experience with great service and a comfortable place to stay with a great view of Austin. read more

I typically always stay at Hilton properties because of the points and being a diamond member you get a lot of perks. Once again Hilton delivers with another great property. The views are amazing and the rooms are very comfy. The room was absolutely comfortable and we really enjoyed the views. At night time the skyline was lit up. We were upgraded to a king suite which we really enjoyed. I will definitely book this hotel again when I'm in Austin for vacation or work. You are close to everything, plenty of restaurants are within walking distance from your hotel. I wish the pool stayed open a little bit later because we got back late from an event and we were not able to take it vantage of the pool. Extra touches that I really like are the fact that they have a Starbucks inside the Hilton which is great. The customer service is amazing. The valet guys are great. The Austin taco project restaurant is really good as well. Next time we stay though we definitely want to take advantage of the pool. The beds are super comfy, the AC blows cold, I am very happy with this property and will definitely be back soon. Great job Hilton. One side note. It was an anniversary trip and typically when I reach out to the managers they will do something extra nice for our trip but the manager here didn't even return my call. I had to call him back and he just really didn't wanna do anything for me. We booked a city view with a king size bed 7 months ahead of time. After reading multiple reviews of noise complaints from nearby clubs, we asked if a quiet area was possible or if we should book elsewhere. We were pleasantly surprised when they ensured they could accommodate and would add notes to our reservation. The first night was great. Little did we know a frat house was booked in our hall for the rest of our stay, and the manager, Josh, admitted they knew the frat was coming, and the employee should not have booked us there. Josh, was very polite and moved us, albeit to an even lesser room with two queens, instead of the King, with club noise coming through the windows until 2 am. No offer of a discount, but when my wife suggested we should be compensated for the inconvenience and lower quality room than we paid for, we were offered only a free breakfast. Mind you this is from the hotel restaurant that we left the morning before due to zero service after waiting at our table for quite some time, and the manager chasing after us to offer a free meal for the lack of service. We were told multiple employees had called out sick that day. When asked if we could cancel the rest of our stay at no charge, they were accommodating. So we had to move our hotel in the middle of vacation in order to get a decent night's sleep. In terms of service it is very hit and miss. For example, the bellhop that stored our luggage was excellent and very polite. However, when we picked up our luggage the new bellhop seemed annoyed that we were there, didn't greet us, just took our ticket and handed us our luggage cart with no assistance with the luggage. This hotel is NOISY. Worse than any Vegas hotel I've stayed at. I recommend you stay anywhere else but the Hilton in downtown Austin if you want to get to sleep earlier than 2:30 A.M. If you're just looking to party and won't be back at the hotel until after the bars close, this might be a good option for you. read more

I'm not going to make this review long and sappy. By far top 5 best hotels I've ever stayed in my life! One might say, "but Mickey, where do you go? You really don't travel!" That is a valid argument ....but I don't consider myself a "low maintenance" kinda gal. I appreciate nice things. Don't we all? Located in the heart of downtown; walking distance to pretty much anything you can name. Staff is accommodating and try to get me the same room every time I'm there. I have no complaints! Do yourself a solid...make this spot your next stay while visiting the great state of Texas' capital! Doggie friendly too! read more

Stayed here to attend a conference at the nearby Marriott but thought this would be nicer based on reviews and the fact that I'm Lifetime Hilton Diamond. I was wrong. Room is meh. View is crap. Most important, the A/C didn't work. Or I should stay, it struggled to work. This is Texas. The place where you need to bring a sweater when it's 100 degrees out because it's so over-air-conditioned. And mine doesn't work. I call to get it fixed. Go out, come back, and it's 1 degree cooler than it was. No message, no voicemail saying if they thought they could fix it. Just silence. Silence like when I pressed the room service button on the phone and no one answers. I double check the website to see in-room dining is still listed as an amenity (surprisingly). Look for a QR code on the TV for 10 minutes. Now I'm convinced they're just lazy, didn't update the website, didn't remove the button on the phone. Deceptive marketing. The bar was OK, service was bad, closes early at 11pm without a last call so be on your game. They've basically stripped every amenity out of this place from the room service to the housekeeping, I was frankly surprised to find the sole surviving amenity was the coffee pot, which of course didn't get restocked after day 1 so there was no coffee to be had on day 2.
