There is a nice selection of all kinds of annuals and perennials, but nothing extraordinary. In addition to the main area, be sure to check out all of the numbered greenhouses. It wasn't until after I had purchased over $250 worth of small plants that another customer told me about the greenhouses. I bought so many plants for hanging baskets and discovered that they had an entire greenhouse of hanging baskets for $20 each. Ugh. I absolutely would not have purchased all of those individual plants. The other thing is that the staff there isn't friendly. Maybe they are understaffed. No one approached us, or was able to help us. When we asked for a specific plant, they didn't know if they had them or not. Some of them we later found on our own. The other thing is that the plants aren't entirely grouped together. Most of the coleus plants are in the large main greenhouse, but what I was actually looking for was outside. Also, they charge for boxes. Wow. After spending over $250 for plants, they then charged me $.30 a box to carry them and put them in the car. This place is pretty good but I don't think I would return. I would rather go to a place like Adams where you can really get someone to help you out.

Tired of seeing the same types of perennial bulbs in every single big box garden center (and even Adams to some extent), I finally visited. Autumn isn't necessarily the best time to visit, as they close shop for the winter, but there were lots of discounts on shrubs and plants and in-stock items as well as beautiful mums all over the place. I particularly liked their focus on native plants and butterfly garden plants. The inside was nice too, with a little bit of everything. As far as bulbs, their selection was limited, but they did have at least one type of shade-loving perennial bulbs I had not found elsewhere. I was also looking for a shade loving houseplant, and they again had several types on sale. Upstairs they have a small bookstore and bird feeder supplies, including the type of squirrel-proof bird feeder I'd like to get if I ever want to replace my old one. SQUIRREL! They maintain an email distribution list too with monthly news and customer discounts. I can't wait to return in the spring!

Everyone who works there is friendly and helpful. I've always referred to them as "big lots, on steroids." The place is huge! They primarily sell manufacturers extras and overstock, and maybe the previous models of things. But, everything is good. Groceries, snacks, clothes, toys, home, and garden, housewares, kitchenware, tools, carpeting even furniture. If you see what you like, buy a little bit extra, because there's a good chance it won't be there the next time you come in. The stock always rotates. That's what makes it fun. It's like a giant treasure hunt. Also, if you sign up for a free "Ollie's army" membership, they will send you information on discounts that you can get off of their already great prices. I am a fan. But Ollie's, met me there with their ceramic rectangular planting boxes at a fraction of the cost of what Home D.+Lowe's charge. The space is huge. And like their website states, Ollie's is the biggest "retailer of closeout merchandise & excess inventory". Aisles are also filled with no-frills brands. Some products are better than others so do your research while you're here and read. For instance, I saw this unknown sheet set brand and when I noticed the polyester fabric label, I put it back quick. From canned goods, toiletries, garden supplies, outdoor, books, toys, etc, etc, etc, etc, you can rack up. Cheap shopping, that's all it is and I like it- depends what I'm getting. Service was pleasant and the cashier helped me sign up for their loyalty program so I can accrue points and discounts for the future.
