This is so important, especially given the hot days we've been experiencing-- flowers don't like to stay too long in the heat. She makes them feel like family. I went to see Laurie to do the flowers for my wedding. She was extremely detailed in taking down notes for what I wanted. When I walked into my reception I was blown away by how gorgeous it all was and I was so happy I trusted her. My bouquets came out gorgeous and she even made a princess wand for my niece, who was my flower girl. Many of my guests had asked me who did my flowers and if they could have her number so that they could use her in the future. There is no one else I would ever trust or recommend to do flowers. Tired of seeing the same types of perennial bulbs in every single big box garden center (and even Adams to some extent), I finally visited. Autumn isn't necessarily the best time to visit, as they close shop for the winter, but there were lots of discounts on shrubs and plants and in-stock items as well as beautiful mums all over the place. I particularly liked their focus on native plants and butterfly garden plants. The inside was nice too, with a little bit of everything. As far as bulbs, their selection was limited, but they did have at least one type of shade-loving perennial bulbs I had not found elsewhere. I was also looking for a shade loving houseplant, and they again had several types on sale. Upstairs they have a small bookstore and bird feeder supplies, including the type of squirrel-proof bird feeder I'd like to get if I ever want to replace my old one. SQUIRREL! They maintain an email distribution list too with monthly news and customer discounts. I can't wait to return in the spring!
