Cute farmstand in the catskills with some amazing views of the surrounding mountains. Farm fresh vegetables, but limited selection seen depemding on when you go. Prices were higher than some other farmstands I saw in the region. One thing that makes this place stand out is that they have fresh seafood for sale, including oysters imported from Massachusetts!

Is Tremper Hill Farms on Route 28 in Tremper a true roadside stand? Yeah. Is it a true farm stand?…read moreHmmm...I think so. The space is small- and if you want cheeses, they got 'em. Milk? Yup. Yogurt? Yup. Eggs? Of course. Some seasonal fruits? Yes. Veggies? That too. Plus seasonal plants, even grass-fed meats and lots more. The guy working here was talkative and helpful when I stopped in to grab a few things. I can't complain about prices- this is the Catskills. Plus this is a nicer way to get some groceries than the supermarket and stock up my pantry here during the weekends when I'm in the area.

Prices were very reasonable and clearly marked. I was only getting a few items as I'm staying in a place with only a mini fridge, but they had a pretty wide selection for a relatively small roadside "farm stand" (farm store?) and it was great not having to drive all the way to Margaretville for quality groceries. Even better that much of their stuff is local. The very kind young person working let me know that pets aren't allowed inside (I had cat on my back in a backpack style carrier and didn't even give it a thought before heading in) and was very understanding of my goof. Hope to make this my regular grocery spot for my annual Catskills trip. Thanks so much!

If you live in Woodstock or happen to be there on a Wednesday between June and the end of October,…read moredo yourself a favor and take a stroll through the Woodstock Farm Festival between 3:30 and dusk. Actually, if you live here you are probably cursing me right now in hippie speak because you have been coming here for 20 years.* Actually, if you live here, you probably aren't looking up your favorite farmer's market on Yelp so I'll just have at it. In 12-15 vendors or so you will find everything that you need to eat healthy and well. From meat to vegetables to fruit to other more savory items (pie, honey), you can easily do your shopping for the week sans beverages. It's an extremely friendly and community oriented atmosphere, accepting of anyone who wants to partake in the festivities. As a side to the market on Maple St., there is a flea market area where there are also food vendors, tents and picnic tables to enjoy your food and some live music. If you are lucky, you will even get to witness some dancing that has probably been going on here since the actual Woodstock. Get a couple tacos from Black Eyed Suzies and do yourself a big favor and get some pretzel bread from that nice lady with the pretzel stand. If you really want to treat yourself, get a chocolate filled pretzel croissant. Actually, get three and send me one...or all three. With Woodstock not full of too much to do at night, this market that spills over into the evening is the perfect opportunity to eat, shop, mingle with the locals and enjoy the cross section of Woodstock that makes it such a relaxing and inviting place to spend some time. _____________ *Sorry.

We had fun plucking zennias ($.50 each) and wanted to see the sunflowers but did not get a chance to since we saw lightning. Within ten minutes of seeing lightning, a heavy thunderstorm began, which we waited out in the cidery, which is in a large barn. There were three bathrooms and a shared sink. There were also lots of snacks, ciders and spirits available for purchase. You could even buy crackers / cheeses / meats to make your own charcuterie board! It looked like there was a private event while we were there as well as another private event in the evening. I only tried the Kitchen Sink cider which I honestly didn't like at all, but at least the packaging was nice! I also have to give a shout out to the people working at the stand near the parking lot for giving me a free sunflower stem since I didn't get a chance to pick one!
