We discussed the logo, and its placement. I asked for 2 patches in addition to the embroidery on the shirts. I made it clear I wanted them to sew on Jackets we had at home. I was a little surprised I was not charged a set up fee for the digitizing. I requested a proof and never received one, just a phone call 2 weeks later that my order was ready. When I arrived they handed me a bag with my shirts. I opened the shirts up and our company name was incomplete. "Why didn't you put our entire name on"?" I asked. I was told the print was too little and wouldn't be legible. I asked why I wasn't I called or sent a proof so an adjustment could be made. I was told I didn't ask for one. Whether I asked or not when they realized they could not do as I requested they should have stopped. Instead, they made a decision they had no right to make. The 2 patches I ordered were also incomplete and were sewn directly on 2 of the shirts which I never asked to be down. Luckily they were sewn on so sloppily I was able to remove them with no damage to the shirts. I started to argue but I could tell by her attitude she was not going to do anything to remedy the error. I made it very clear I wasn't happy and they obviously didn't care. Unprofessional with no customer service. I paid and left.

I worked with DE in advance for what I hoped could be a great review, but it isn't going to work out that way. This is a bit long, mostly because I want you to realize I am not some Karen that gives out poor reviews for no good reason. I also hope that you and DE might learn something positive from the review. I want to start off by calling out Courtney for being a great person to work with. I feel like if I had been able to work out a solution to the deficiencies with her, this review would be better than its' going to be. I added a star to the review just because of her. I just started my own company. I've owned and managed others in my 35 year career, and having embroidered hats and shirts has always been something I enjoyed. Embroidery lasts longer than screen printing, and looks classy. I found DE via the web and their reviews were good, so I stopped by to talk to them. Courtney met me at the counter and we discussed whether they were OK with me supplying the soft goods and what format they needed the artwork in. A couple of weeks later I had accumulated both and dropped them off. When I dropped them off, Courtney and I looked at the artwork on their computer and adjusted the thread colors to match their equipment. She mentioned that my logo had a large stitch count, which to me meant that it would be costly to produce. It meant something else to them, apparently. More on that later. She told me that it would be a week and a half to two weeks, which was not a problem. Less than two weeks later they called and said the order was complete. I picked them up yesterday and the looked at the top couple of items, which looked good. Paid and left. When I got home and unboxed the whole order, I found about 1/2 of it was not so good. The sun-rays in our logo did not meet the outside border, especially in the lower right of the logo on many pieces. On the other pieces, it varied from meeting the border to the gap not being enough to bitch about. Not what I would have liked to have, but nothing to write a long, poor review over. The next day I took the order back to them and was told I would have to speak with the manager. OK, not a problem. She informed me that because the artwork had such a high thread count it could not be sewed consistently from piece to piece. She also blamed the artwork, indicating that if I had spent $35 with them to convert the artwork that it would have revealed the border wasn't big enough. She also indicated that different hats, unstructured especially, are hard to work with. I am not disputing any of these things. Where our discussion became uncomfortable is when I pointed out that while I brought the artwork, they reviewed it on their computer before accepting it. I get it, that sometimes you don't know something is going to not go well until you try it, so I am even willing to grant them dispensation on that. But when I mentioned that they should have stopped when the first one went bad, the manager asked me to leave. I was being calm, I wasn't argumentative, made no threats, and used no bad language. Literally all they had to do was call me and tell me that the artwork was not right or too difficult and offer solutions or simply state they can not handle this level of detail. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. I would have totally spent another $35 to have them digitize the artwork if that would have prevented this. They have a big sign that says they take no responsibility if you bring your own soft goods, and I get it. Some material shreds under the machine, others pucker. And if this had been the issue, I wouldn't be writing this review. Fact is, about half this order is inferior quality, and the other half is OK. It all might have been great if they had told me to have their digitizer do the artwork. After the first just OK piece I would have made that call to my customer to suggest we re-digitize the artwork. I did ask for them to credit me for the half of the order that is inferior. Not for all of the goods that were ruined, but just half of what I paid them. The manager just pointed to the sign and said there was nothing she could do for me. It's disappointing as I was going to have them make me a few signs and a banner if this had gone well. In conclusion, I'm not saying don't do business with Digital Expressions. I am strongly suggesting that you have them digitize your artwork and supply the soft goods. From my experience I can't tell if they are capable of doing great work, but I think it is likely as not that they can. They do need to learn to communicate before things become unrecoverable.

Wow. This company is amazing…read more I wanted to make a plaque for my dad. I went in with somewhat of an idea and left with confidence that we had created a masterpiece. They worked with me to bring my idea to life and were so friendly about it even though they were really busy. They even brought me in the back to check out a design for my plaque too! I ended up needing two more plaques for ROTC. We asked them to rush it (we only had two days) and they were willing to work with us to get our project done for us!! They offer post office boxes that are accessible 24 hrs a day. The post office boxes are regular sized, so packages won't fit in them. No problem, they hold your packages for you. As a first time customer with this establishment,…read moremy experience was unfortunately terrible and I'm writing this as a courteous warning to others who may look to do business here. Upon searching for local establishments and seeing positive reviews and praise for customer service, I wanted to give them a chance. I brought in two watches that needed simple battery replacements, one for my wife and one of my own. Upon bringing the watches in, the lady who assisted me seemed friendly enough. I was informed that they no longer do battery replacements in house and they would need to be sent out. Bit of a surprise but ok, I wasn't in a terrible hurry to get them back and was told it'd be a couple of weeks. I received a call within the allotted time telling me they had come in and were ready to be picked up. I go to the store the very next day to retrieve them, being helped by the same person who took them in originally. My wife's watch was running perfectly fine. Mine however I noticed when handed to me was not running at all. I pointed this out and the lady called over another associate who she claimed was the one responsible for quality checks when items came back in from service. This second lady informed me that it had been running the day before when it was checked in but "sometimes they get sent back with a dead battery" and they would need to send it back. She then took it to their back room (with window facing the showroom so everything is visible where she attempted to open the watch but soon returned saying it was more complicated of a movement than she felt comfortable working with so they would send it back to the repair vendor. Red flags, but I want it fixed. Same drill as previous, they will let me know when it's ready within another couple of weeks. About a week and a half later I get a call that my watch has come back in, but am told it is not working and came back with a note that it needs to be sent in to the manufacturer. After naturally asking some questions so I fully understand what exactly was the issue, the girl on the phone became very easily flustered and VERY defensive. Not the customer service I was expecting. I wasn't being disrespectful in any form, just asking questions trying to understand what situation I was now in with a broken watch that was working perfectly fine when I took it in. I go in a few days later to pick up my watch and ask to speak with a manager so I can voice my concerns and displeasure. I relayed the timeline of events to the manager I spoke with, who retrieved and showed me my watch as it was returned with nothing but a sticky note that said to send it in to the manufacturer. No detail or explanation as to what was now wrong. Upon inspection, the crown no longer worked when trying to set the time and no movement of the hands. I was apologized to by the manager and was told that they would look further into it with their repair vendor to try and find out more info so I'd at least have something to go to the manufacturer with. I was also informed at this time that I would almost certainly be contacted by the owner, Mr. Borrego to discuss the issues with me. It has now been a full two weeks with no contact, so out of sight out of mind. I will never personally step foot into this establishment again and will tell everyone I know to avoid dealing with them as well. It's a shame because it is a nice store, but this type of service is unacceptable. I would warn anyone reading this to never entrust these people with any of your personal or sentimental valuables. Zero accountability and broken trust with the first encounter for a potential long term customer...I'll take my business elsewhere.
