He personally took my tire right into the bay and swapped out the valve stem. Took no more than 20 minutes from when I came in to address the problem. The Chevy dealer said it would be a minimum of $1,000 to just replace the wheel, and that I'd probably also need to buy one or two tires (about $400 each). I wanted a second opinion hoping for a more affordable solution and a coworker recommended for me to ask Rocky at Napa Tire Experts for help. He was able to quickly identify that while the wheel was indeed cracked and could not be repaired, the tire was undamaged. In the end, they got me back on the road for less than half the cost of the dealership, and were honest about the fact that I didn't need to buy any tires. Rocky also took the time to explain to me what types of tires work well on electric cars so that I know what to look for when I need tires next time.

Before the repair, the vehicle was not pulling to one side, and there was no smoke coming from the wheel wells. Immediately after the work was completed, the car began pulling to one side while driving. After driving for a while, we also noticed smoke coming from the front wheel wells--first from one side, and later from both sides. Because these problems appeared immediately after the brake service, we returned to the shop and asked them to inspect the vehicle. We were genuinely concerned that something in the braking system might be overheating and that the vehicle might not be safe to drive. Instead of taking the situation seriously and thoroughly investigating what had changed after their repair, the employees simply told us they couldn't see any smoke and that everything was fine. They denied that the problem could be related to their work, even though the vehicle had neither pulled to one side nor produced any smoke before the repair.

When I arrived at DeWitt's I went inside and informed the woman in the office I had a tire that I thought had a nail in it. She asked me to leave the keys in the vehicle and someone would take a look. A young man came out and didn't say a word or give me eye contact. He drove into the shop and removed the tire. About 30 minutes later I was told the job was done and it would be $50. I know, inflation and all, but the last time I had a nail removed it was around $20. I didn't think to ask to see what he found in the tire. On all other tire repair occasions I was always shown what was in the tire. As I was leaving, the low tire pressure light was still on. I went back inside and asked the woman one, did they check all the tires to make sure they had the correct tire pressure and two, would they reset the low tire pressure light. I was told they usually check all tires to make sure they have the right air pressure (usually). That I needed to drive the vehicle 20 miles and the light would go off. I drove over 400 miles and the light is still on. I Googled how to reset the light and I need to release air out of each tire in order for the light to go off. Let's think about that. If the tires are inflated to the correct pressure and I need to let air out of each tire to reset the light, wouldn't it be best to do this at a shop where they can over inflate the tires or be able to put the lost air back in the tires? The tire repair may be excellent, but the overall customer service coming out of the shop was very disappointing.
