They were friendly, candid and gave me tips on how to not to spend money unecessarily.

I was visiting a friend in Sonoma and one of my tires was low on air. I put air in the tire at the 76 station down the street from DeWitt's and and hour later I noticed the tire was getting low on air. When I arrived at DeWitt's I went inside and informed the woman in the office I had a tire that I thought had a nail in it. She asked me to leave the keys in the vehicle and someone would take a look. A young man came out and didn't say a word or give me eye contact. He drove into the shop and removed the tire. About 30 minutes later I was told the job was done and it would be $50. I know, inflation and all, but the last time I had a nail removed it was around $20. I didn't think to ask to see what he found in the tire. On all other tire repair occasions I was always shown what was in the tire. As I was leaving, the low tire pressure light was still on. I went back inside and asked the woman one, did they check all the tires to make sure they had the correct tire pressure and two, would they reset the low tire pressure light. I was told they usually check all tires to make sure they have the right air pressure (usually). That I needed to drive the vehicle 20 miles and the light would go off. I drove over 400 miles and the light is still on. I Googled how to reset the light and I need to release air out of each tire in order for the light to go off. Let's think about that. If the tires are inflated to the correct pressure and I need to let air out of each tire to reset the light, wouldn't it be best to do this at a shop where they can over inflate the tires or be able to put the lost air back in the tires? The tire repair may be excellent, but the overall customer service coming out of the shop was very disappointing. read more

Really poor attitude, only said he could take me later in the week, but didn't even offer options to which day. It's sad I've worked with these people for years and this generation doesn't seem to be focused on customer service. I didn't need same-day service. I just wanted to be treated with respect and given an option for an appointment day. Maybe they are busy enough now that they don't need to focus on customer service like the old days on East St., East. read more

I had such a great experience here! I came in needing a temporary solution to get back on the road until I could get my car into the shop, and the team was beyond helpful. The customer service department was fantastic--friendly, accommodating, and very knowledgeable about what tires would work best for my situation. They made what could have been a stressful moment feel easy and reassuring. Highly recommend this shop if you want honest advice, great service, and people who truly care about helping you out. A small town local shop that is genuine in all aspects. read more

Visiting Sonoma "Friday the 13th" to meet friends for lunch. I returned to my car around 3 PM and I discovered some "bad luck", an almost flat tire. People in the area recommended DeWitt's Tire & Brake. Got there and Joe said he could get the flat repaired quickly even though they looked very busy. I was out of there in about 30 minutes! Joe and the rest of the folks there are very friendly and did a great job. Old school customer service and high quality work. Highly recommended! 5+ Stars! read more

Outstanding service at a fair price. They go out of their way to ensure you get back on the road with service and products you can reply on. DeWitt Tire & Brake is locally owned and family owned. Shelby in the front office is the third generation to take care of Sonoma drivers. I was in the waiting area at the start of the New Year and people actually came by just to say hello and wish the crew a Happy New Year. That is a reputation to be proud of and one that is well deserved. Now that I know about DeWitt's, I won't go anywhere else. read more

I would like to have a conversation with the owner. Not sure why the office manager is so passive aggressive when following up on a service provided. I asked for a tire check and rotation, after 40minutes I was informed a they didn't do the rotation and I received a tire patch to potentially the wrong tire. Technician was upset for not being properly informed on my car and office manager states he was unaware bc she was on lunch. I understand we deserve a lunch break however I don't understand how that's an issue for a client. read more

DeWitt's is terrific. I have used him many times over the years for my cars and my John Deere Gator. He is quick, responsive, courteous, and the price is always fair. In fact over the last couple years I have warning notices on my dashboard indicating my tire inflation is too low. He immediately checked the pressure for me and inflated the tires that needed it. When I asked him what I owed, he said nothing. I pulled out my money and gave him cash. He is a treasure for us in Sonoma. Steve Pease read more

Don't go anywhere else! This is THE place to get your tire needs met in Sonoma. The owner is a lovely human. He's very kind, responsive and knows the tire business well. Easy to work with. Our daughter blew a tire on her Mini - not always an easy car to source parts for. He not only found a tire but had it on the car in less than 24 hours. Definitely the go to place for tire needs in Sonoma. Conveniently located on 8th Street, too! read more

Very fair prices on my Tesla tires. I saved over $150 over what I would have paid at Tesla. They were courteous and professional.

I felt like I was transported back in time getting a leaking tire repaired at DeWitt's. Tom answered my call and encouraged me to bring the car my immediately for service. I drove onto his lot, which looks like what a tire shop should look like-no frills, all business, as it may very well have looked thirty years ago. Tom greeted me, told me it might be 10 minutes before he or his other employee could get to me. While I waited two other customers drove up awaiting service. Tom repaired my leak and I was in my way within 30 minutes of arriving at his business. The price of the repair was very fair as well. I am new to the area and the small town service Tom provided was a breath of fresh air. I highly recommend this business! read more

I see why they're 5 STARS! Fast, efficient service at a fair price. In from out of town and tire pressure warning light came on; they found the metal, repaired the leak and had me on my way in about 1/2 hr. They checked all the tires too. Nice, professional service from this small and friendly shop. Thank you! read more

DeWitt's Tire Recycle & Auto Repair is professional, competent and honest. Went in to get a tire patched. Twenty minutes later, the tire was as good as new and I was on my way. FYI, the shop is not really on 8th Street East, but rather a little way down a side road across from the Sonoma County yard. Quality work. Will definitely return for tire needs in the future. read more

If ten stars were available, I would give them to DeWitt's. This is a perfect example of how a business should be run. Friendly, helpful, honest, and fast! I got four new tires at a most competitive price. read more

This place is amazing. They don't mess around and get to the problem or repair very quickly with no nonsense. I came here after getting a pair of tires at Sonoma Tires that they didn't install correctly, and then wouldn't inspect when they started leaking soon after. DeWitt fixed it in 15 minutes and I was thrilled at the speed and quality of service for only $30. I highly recommend Dewitt. I strongly DON'T recommend Sonoma Tires. read more

Tire repair drive in no waiting Very quick, pleasant wait area if necessary. Glad they are there. Sending my neighbor to Tom

DeWitt has cared for my tires for years. I just had my brakes replaced and could not be happier with their service. I will always go there.

Great place to get tires. I had a blowout on the highway and put my spare on and couldn't find any place in sonoma that carried my size tire except for Dewitt's. Happy w their service and pricing. read more

If you ever need a tire shop, I would highly recommend DeWitt's on 8th Street East. My flat was irreparable, but I was able to get two new Cooper front tires installed for a fraction of the price I would have paid at Toscalito, Goodyear or any of the other big-name shops. The staff was fast, friendly, and I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. Five Stars. read more

Had a giant nail in my tire and emailed DeWitt's on a Saturday when they're closed to see if they would special order 2 Pirelli run flat tires for me. Tom contacted me right away and said they could order them for me. WOW! He then followed up with me on Monday morning, told me the price and said they would have them the next day. He called again on Tuesday to let me know he had my tires. I went down to his shop and 2 new tires in under an hour. Really impressive customer service. I will ALWAYS get my tires from DeWitt's read more

I needed to replace two rear tires on my ATC ranch vehicle, which I purchased on line. I first went to Sonoma Tires and dropped off the (New) tires and old wheels for mounting. I called at the end of the day to see the status of my tire job and was told that they were "too busy" and had only one person working on the mechanics side. They said they will try to work on it tomorrow. I called the next day and was told that they would not be able to mount the tires as they did not have anyone available. (Employee called in sick.) I immediately picked up my tires and wheels and contacted DeWitt's Tire Shop. Tom answered the phone and said they could do the work and have it ready later that day. The price he quoted me was about half the price that Sonoma Tire had quoted me for the same work. Its a little tricky to locate the shop as its actually on Hamblin Rd, off of 8th St East in Sonoma, CA. You have to turn onto Hamblin Rd, you will see signs for the Sonoma County Corp Yard, Stor-It-All Self Storage and a white painted tire with "DeWitt tire" sign in the middle of the tire. The sign or "tire sign", located on the South East corner of 8th St East and Hamblin Rd is easy to miss. DeWitt's Tire Shop is located half way down the road on the right. It's rustic, but equipped with the right people and equipment to get the job done right. Honest people and work. They don't have the ability or equipment to do alignments. Basic tire needs at reasonable prices. No excuses! Thanks to Tom and his team at DeWitt's tires. This is the place for mounting, balancing and repair of tires and general brake jobs. Glad to support the local small business like DeWitt's! csi2drmr read more

i am a local Sonoma resident, and would give DeWitt's ten stars if that was possible. The staff is friendly and efficient. They deliver quality service and products with no fuss. Moat recently they fixed a tire that had a slow leak that the other store in town claimed did not exist. read more

We were on vacation and our car tire got a rather large screw in it. We went to several garages and nobody would even look at the tire, just turned us away. We went to DeWitt's and they fixed it in about an hour. It is a no frills place but they were more than kind, offering us a fresh cup of coffee and apologizing for the wait. It seems to be a family business and they seem to really care. I highly recommend them and thank them for getting us back on the road, otherwise, our vacation and our tire were heading downhill fast. read more

I had a flat tire and came in without an appointment this afternoon an hour before they closed. The owner was super friendly and up front about how much it would cost. The work took under 30 minutes and it cost $35 because my tire was unrepairable and they replaced it with a used one. They even make sure that you back out alright. I would recommend this shop! read more

Completely satisfied--pleased even! Developed a slow leak in one of my tires--perfect timing as I'm planning to sell the vehicle soon. Technician found a nail, removed it, and was able to seal the tire successfully, charging me a reasonable fee that was definitely less than a new tire. Thanks! I'll think of them first when I need tires next time. Just be aware, they're a little tough to find if you don't know where they are--off 5th St E about a half block down the same side street that Stor-It-All is on. read more

When I suddenly found myself with a flat tire and a nail in my sidewall on a tire with barely 7000 miles on it, DeWitt's got me in for an appointment first thing the day even though they were slammed with customers. They replaced my tire and rotated all of them while I waited, and the price was so reasonable I had to ask twice if that was the total cost. What a great local company! Be sure to support them!! read more

I have been to DeWitt's once and was very impressed with the speed and attention to my needs. I was treated respectfully at all times. Their service was straightforward and honest. I recommend them strongly. I had a flat tire that needed either repair or replacement, and I had to choose a repair shop. The business that has had my tire business for the last 30 years is located in a nearby county, and is too distant for this project. They helped me plan for the possibility that my tire could not be repaired. I phoned DeWitt's to sound them out, and decided to have my car taken there. They did discover the tire was not repairable (I had likely driven on it for at least a day). So Tony immediately asked about my options, repeating the phone conversation we had had. He mounted a loaner tire and ordered a new replacement tire. I returned the next day for the new tire. All was handled expeditiously and I was charged the price that Tony had quoted me the day before. read more

I have several cars and have used every tire store in town over the years and have come to the conclusion the DeWitt Tires is the best and only place to go. The job gets done quickly and efficiently, the prices can't be beat and the owner is honest and direct. (No sleezy sales tactics or "up-selling BS going on here). I highly recommend Tom DeWitt and his crew and trust them with all of my tire needs whether an old classic car, pickup truck, Europe luxury car.. It doesn't matter, they are professional, competent and honest! read more
