During my last visit in this area, I was looking for something fun to do. I landed on this spot. I could not gather much online what type of games or activities happen here, but I read a lot of great reviews. I just knew it was game related. We were kind of in a rush, we got there and the inside was decorated with such a unique, quirky feel. I can't really describe it, it's a wide range of interesting ideas/ things all thrown together. We had a very short time to play and I was worried that we would have to skip it but it all worked out. I'm sort of glad that the host/guy working the counter didn't really go much into detail. You can have the option to play 5 games, or 10 games or 15 games. Each game is different, you're in each room (one game per room) for a very short time. I am not going to reveal anything about the games since it would spoil it for the rest. My niece was very upset/hesitant about participating but once we got in there, I could tell they had lots of fun. I really liked this concept and I hope more places in different cities pop up. Once I'm in this area again, I plan on going back to visit to play the other games. (rooms) If you are looking for something different and fun, this should be next on your list. Ambiance:5/5 Service: 5/5 Food: N/A

Came to Hijinx Hotel and it was such a fun, chaotic game experience. We did the 30 minute session which ended up being about 5 different games. Spoilers ahead!!!! First off, the waiting area upstairs is already part of the experience. There's a free photo booth which is sooo cute and it actually leads into a bar which I did not expect at all. The whole place has this super extra, overstimulating decor but in a fun way. First game was basketball where you're just shooting into multiple hoops with these tiny balls. It was fun but probably the weakest one. The balls were hella bouncy and it didn't really match the whole hotel theme. Next was this huge tile room where you have to step on the colors it tells you. This one was SOfun and we were so close to getting a high score. Then we did the pool room which was the ball pit room where you have to throw balls into holes that light up. Not too hard but some of those holes are sooo tall!! highly recommend bringing a tall friend. After that we went into this kinda creepy room with a pig and you had to guide a metal rod through without touching the rod. I was sooo bad at this one because my hands are shaky and I kept messing up but the more u complete the more points u get. Last one was like a diner dash vibe where you're feeding guests and matching food to what's on the screen. At the end it prints cute receipt with all your points for each game and its one of my fave things of the experience. Overall I really liked the experience. The vibes are super unique and immersive even if a couple games don't fully match the theme. I would definitely come back to try the other rooms and see what else they have.

The place is super cute! We went to the speakeasy (located upstairs) and it was nice vibes and they have specific speakeasy alcohol menu. I ordered the Watermelon Fling, and it was a good refreshing drink. After that, we went downstairs to the main bar and ordered Loaded Brisket Fries and Apple A Day drink. The Loaded Bristet Fries were really good, but the sauce was a bit sweet. The Apple A Day was okay, it tasted watered down to me. Overall, cute place to hang out and chill. Recommendation(s): - Loaded Brisket Fries - Watermelon Fling Service: 5/5 Tip(s): - Park near the movie theater - Restrooms available - Speakeasy is located on the 2nd floor (Have fun finding it!)

Located at Spectrum and connected to Holey Moley is this gem. My girlfriend introduced this spot to me when she suggested the Hijinx Hotel for lunch. We sat in a booth by their bar and ordered some finger foods. We shared their wings, chicken lettuce wraps and the Elote ribs. They were all good but the elote ribs were my favorite. They were super flavorful and definitely delicious. The staff was super nice and attentive and food came quickly. Props to whoever designed this place. Every inch of it is thought out. Our dining area was beautiful. They had a cute "lobby" area which has stairs leading up to their speakeasy which was also super cute. The decor is super instagram worthy. They also had a private area to host large parties and karaoke. This is a great place for kids, large parties, or smaller ones. It's definitely worth checking out.

Great little date night experience to share with your significant other! If you like puzzles and competitions, this is your cup of tea. I found the games pretty easy and engaging, but be prepared to sweat a bit. Drinks here were also surprisingly affordable. Would come back with some younger family members for a fun time.

I love this place! It's so fun and whimsical! I love how this place is fun for families, kids, adults, work events, etc. there is a secret bar, and free digital photo booth. You check in at the front desk with your group and get a room card. You wait for your host in a funky waiting room. They take you in an elevator that reminds me of the Tower of Terror. They have 3 groups of challenge rooms. I've done 2 so far. I hope they change them yearly to give people a reason to keep coming back. They have a few cute merch for sale too. Your group is actually competing against the other groups of the day. You get to do 5 themed rooms and get your final score and ranking at the end. You can print your scorecard. It can take anywhere from 30-60 min depending on how busy it is when you get there. It's linked to Holey Moley mini golf place which is pretty cool, too (separate review). I really hope they stay in business. It's nice to have fun options to do that aren't too crazy expensive. It's nice to actually put the phones away and hang out even if for 10 min at a time!!

This place felt like a real full-on hotel with a front desk and concierge. I originally came here for the speakeasy but ended up exploring through the whole place. It was filled with art, color, and great music throughout! Spoiler alert: The speakeasy was upstairs hidden through the photobooth, but I won't go through the details and let you all discover the rest for yourself. It has some unique drinks, but the menu was quite small. The smoked old fashioned comes in a cool box filled with smoke. Cool small place for some peace to escape from the louder livelier downstairs bar and the overall traffic of Irvine Spectrum . I went in not knowing what to expect from this place, but everything seem pretty interactive- there are challenge or escape rooms, mini golf, and i believe 4 different bars. I also squeezed in a quick game of Connect 4 right before heading out the front doors.

This review is solely for the food at Hijinx Hotel. I met friends here for a meal for my friend's birthday. We shared a Savory High Tea, drinks and some sides. Savory High Tea: 9/10 - a nice variety of sandwiches and comes with a side of waffles fries. Chop Chop salad: 3/10 - came in a bowl that was too small so it was impossible to mix together or scoop out without falling out all over the table. We were left with a lot of plain lettuce on the bottom at the end since it was hard to mix well. Coconut Shrimp 7/10 - tasted good but portion size is small. Sweet Potato Waffle Fries: 9/10 - only $3 for the side order, which was worth it. Churros with icecream: 1/10 - our server forgot to bring it to us after we ordered it. They were all busy setting up in the party rooms so none were around for awhile. When we finally flagged down our server, the churros were cold and hard. No one enjoyed them. Drinks: 2/10 - Some of my friends ordered wine and cocktails, but for 2 of us who ordered grapefruit juice, it literally tasted only like water. We also had to ask for new glasses when our drinks arrived since some were dirty. Unfortunately, though the atmosphere/decor is fun and fresh, we were disappointed by the experience and the food.

Hijinx Hotel is a new entertainment space located at Irvine Spectrum. It's next to Holey Moley and they share the same parent company in Australia. Unlike what its name suggests, it's not actually a hotel but looks similar to one with a concierge and a hotel lobby bar. Hijinx Hotel offers interactive group challenge games, karaoke lounges, and bars in addition to Holey Moley offering mini golf. There are 15 challenge rooms each with a themed game where you can solve puzzles and earn points. Along with these rooms there is a bar at the "lobby" with a happy hour and a speakeasy on the second floor through a "photobooth". The bar, called Suite 404, is a red-themed bar with a variety of drinks, bar snacks, and small bites. This place is whimsical and immersive with all the decorations on the walls. It's a different kind of experience that is a great addition to Irvine Spectrum and the area.

Came here with a group of friends and did a set of five rooms which was really fun! Each room was pretty different and required different skill sets. The interior of the place was well decorated and super aesthetic. I had a good time and would come back again. It's was $23/person.

We were at the Irvine Spectrum when we discovered this place. Walked inside and it looks so cool. Feels like you are inside a hotel lobby, but it is actually a game place. The theme is very cool to say the least. You purchase the tickets at the check in counter. You then wait for your time slot, then head on upstairs as though you are going to your hotel room, but you are actually going to different rooms to do the different challenges. Being here for the first time, we didn't know what to expect. Think of it as though you are going to several escape rooms, but it is not an escape room, but rather different challenging games. Each room has it unique themes and challenges. Each room has a time limit. The goal is to get the highest scores/points before the time runs out before you move onto the next room. Once you are done with all the rooms/challenges, you head back out and get a printout of your group scores. In the lobby you can compare how your group did compared to that day's high scores. It was fun, we had a great time. Just be prepared to be exhausted in some of the rooms/challenges. Great exercises.

This place was a blast. Our group of 10 chose to do the 5 rooms. You check in at the concierge desk. They will give you a room key card. The card is what you will use to activate the games in each room. We were split up in groups of 5. Each room was a fun and interactive activity. Be prepared for a cardio workout. Don't skip the photo booth on your way out. You'll be able to download the pictures using the QR code. We will be back to do the other rooms. Fun for the entire family.

Brought a group of 10 people to do 6 game rooms and we had a BLAST! We were split into two since each room has a max of six people. We found that 6 rooms was the perfect amount as some of the game required some physical activity but you can purchase more to experience more rooms. We enjoyed most of the game rooms. Some of them were more involved/ active than others. But overall, they catered to a wide range of interests/ age ranges. This is a great place to come if you want to do something that is a little more active than just a dinner with friends but also not so active it requires too much thought. There's no scary or fearful components. Just fun! We also ate at the restaurant inside. They were able to accommodate our party of 10 without a reservation but it did take them some time to put our table together. Friendly service, okay food. Not sure I'd eat there again but I absolutely will be back for more games and for mini golf!

We were seated in front of the bar area with the large screens, and our server, Isaiah, was extremely inattentive throughout the night. When we first sat down, I ordered a Diet Coke while the other two people in my party ordered drinks as well. Their drinks arrived immediately, but mine never came. I sat through the entire first fight without a drink -- not even the water we had also requested. I eventually flagged Isaiah down and said that if the Diet Coke hadn't been entered yet, I'd like to switch to a different drink instead. It was obvious the order had never been put in, and he assured me he would bring the new drink out right away. Once again, nothing came. After flagging him down a second time, he blamed an "IT issue" with the system and said he would personally grab the drink. He then returned with the wrong drink entirely. I try to be patient and understanding, but by this point the experience had become frustrating and unacceptable. Because of the poor service, I decided not to order another drink. We had originally planned to stay for dinner and only ordered appetizers during the fight, but ultimately chose to eat elsewhere because we no longer wanted to spend money at this establishment. To make matters worse, after paying and tipping, I noticed we had still been charged for the Diet Coke that I never received. This level of service is completely inexcusable and honestly makes me never want to return to this location again.

It was such a turnoff wtf. The server was super nice though. We preferred to order with him instead of using the QR code because the internet is non existent in this place. And to use the WiFi, you had to put in your email, which I didn't want them to have my email. So that was annoying. We got a pizza, which tasted pretty good but was extremely greasy lol! The bowling itself was kind of weird too because all the pins had a string attached to them and that's how they would reset them. Which was crazy because I felt like the strings would sometimes prevent the pins from falling at times, messing up our game. Boo hoo. I do like the retro vibes with the music videos and Space Jam movie but the music was too quiet and they played Space Jam 3 times while we were there! Yikes!!! Lol overall, would maybe come back if it was the cheapest place but probably not otherwise!

I loved the first drop it was really smooth it was only the last few drops that was really shaky! Honestly I had to hover above my seat so I wouldn't be tossed on my friend lol! He shouted out the total for two wristbands and I let him know there was a different price online. He shouted out to purchase the wristbands online for that price. I walked away purchased the wristbands went back to pick up the physical wristbands. He scanned the barcode and put the wristbands on our wrist. And then with a smile said the list of rides that were closed. And then said " we are short staffed and due to that we do not have employees at the rides once they get here at 12:30 then you'll be able to get on the rides" I looked at my 10-year-old and said OK we'll go walk the beach and get a bite to eat until they open up. Guess what the staff never got there! Honestly, he thought it was funny when he told me that we weren't going to be able to get on rides until the other staff got there. There were a few rides like the mini dipper and the carousel. But who buys wristbands to get on a couple rides and then get on the bumper cart. If that's the case then I would've just bought individual tickets. LET YOUR GUEST KNOW AHEAD OF TIME IF YOU ARE SHORT STAFFED AND THE PARK WILL NOT BE RUNNING AS USUAL!! I had to keep looking for staff to let us on rides and then even then I wasn't able to get on every ride. I paid for a wrist band for myself and my daughter thinking that we were going to be able to enjoy the day but we were not. I do want to point out that I'm a single mom and low income and this was supposed to be something amazing for us. $100 to Belmont Park is absolutely nothing but for me it is. And just FYI, I a lot of people kept leaving the park upset. But for them, they didn't purchase wristbands. We waited till after 5 PM hoping that as the shift changed employees would come and open up all of the rides, but that never happened. I was hoping to get my money back for the wristband, but because the employee at the counter was so aggressive I was honestly afraid to go up and ask for a refund. I'm hoping Belmont Park will make this right and provide my daughter and I with an opportunity to return to Belmont Park at no charge to us and be able to get on the rides.

Two bartenders on a Saturday did not seem sufficient. There was a long wait for drinks. After we grabbed drinks we maneuvered to the back patio. The Giant Jenga was being utilized so we went back inside. We weaved through the crowd and made our way to the Basketball Hoops. It's not as easy as it looks, our score was not notable but it was still fun challenging each other. We played one round of PacMan, lots of fun. We grabbed our second round of bevies and headed back to the patio. Played three rounds of Jenga, losers had to take shots! Definitely a cool place to people watch, low-stakes first date or good times with a group. Will be back again in the near future!

Compared to the downtown location it is much smaller however, it had all the nostalgic games to keep us entertained between pin ball, basketball as well as the classics like street fighter, ninja turtles, etc. Since it is a smaller location we ended up chatting with the staff and they were extremely friendly. For an unexpected night it was a great night. The only problem we did have is my friend dropped his credit card and the phone number online and on Yelp are the same and it was disconnected so it was frustrating since parking is difficult in the area.

Tons of parking and at 1pm on Sunday, a good amount of seating. We ordered the regular size nachos, with beef, Philly cheesesteak sandwich, a watermelon vodka lemonade and a Bloody Mary. Everything came out quickly and well made. The nachos were a bit spicy, perfect for me, a bit much for my BF. The nachos were great though because they put all the fixins on the side. The potato chips that came with the sandwich and the nacho chips, were freshly made and crunchy. Great lunch and fun vibes. Will come back again for the potato chips

I've now been here twice to bowl, and unfortunately both experiences were frustrating enough that I…read morewon't be bowling here again. Both visits had the same issue: the group next to us had no sense of bowling etiquette, and it was never addressed by staff. Their parties were oversized and ended up spilling into our space sitting in our seats, placing drinks on our table, and generally taking over the shared area. On top of that, their kids repeatedly came over to our lane, touching our tablet and interfering with our game. It made it really hard to enjoy what we paid for. What made it worse is that both times, the groups next to us were visibly drunk. That kind of environment might be expected at a bar, but when it starts impacting other guests' experience especially families it becomes a problem. There didn't seem to be any staff intervention to manage the situation or maintain a respectful atmosphere. Another frustrating point was the check-in process. I brought my own Brunswick bowling shoes, but I was still told I had to rent a pair anyway. The employee even said I could "just do whatever with them," which honestly makes no sense and feels like an unnecessary charge. Policies like that don't feel customer-friendly. To be fair, Big Al's is a fun place overall. The arcade games and general hangout vibe are great, and I'd still come back for that. But the bowling experience itself just isn't worth it based on what I've experienced. There's definitely room for improvement staff should be more proactive about enforcing basic bowling etiquette, making sure groups stay within their assigned seating areas and respect neighboring lanes. Better monitoring, especially when alcohol is involved, could help prevent disruptive behavior. Clear limits on group sizes per lane, ensuring kids stay within their own lane, and revisiting the shoe rental policy for guests who bring their own equipment would all go a long way in improving the experience. There's definitely potential here, but the bowling side needs better structure and oversight.
