Their staff member, Chloe, did a variety of my pre-testing this week and the ordering of my contacts and I had a good experience with her as well. I don't have Eye insurance, but they do have a coupon on their website that you can print off for either a returning visit or a first time visitor. I also have to use another location of theirs in Overland Park for a specialized Eye test once a year. I believe that they will match any price for contacts that you find online as well. I choose to have my contacts purchased and sent to their location and that I pick them up so I don't have to worry about them in my mailbox. They have a nice selection of eyeglasses as well. I would recommend their services.

From the front desk, to the optometrist assistant to the actual optometrist the service here is unmatched! Truly makes me wish it was a thing that occurred more, is twice a year too much? Maybe one day we will live in a world where we can utilize insurance as much as we see fit ‍ I brought some glasses that I got here last year to have repaired and my warranty covered a whole new set for only $50. The original price for the frames and lens were about $700 altogether. It's definitely expensive to have visual acuity, but I think we can all agree it's a source we all rely on to maneuver through our daily lives! I stared off seeing Dr. Groff years ago until she moved and then I moved to Lawrence. I had always loved their service and eye wear selection. After my dog destroyed my favorite pair of glasses I had bought at Dr. Krannawitter's former office, I had a hard time finding frames in Lawrence that I liked. So one morning I popped into the new location on Pflumm. I was so impressed with what they'd done with that building. Of course, their eyewear selection was still amazing. The staff were friendly and informative, just as they had been 5 years ago. Bummed I didn't have a current glasses prescription to order the frames that I'd found there and loved, staff were able to squeeze me into an appointment right then so that I could go ahead and order my glasses that day. Took my son here 6 weeks ago for eye exam and glasses. Exam was excellent, Dr. Eck was kind,…read moreefficient and knowledgeable. The office staff were polite and considerate. My son was prescribed bifocals (he's 9 yrs old - apparently this is somewhat common in kids of his age.) Here's the kicker...after 6 weeks, my son hates the bifocals. He doesn't wear them. He can't get used to the line, he struggles to get used to the change in the lenses, and they give him more headaches than he had before he got them, just because he isn't using them like he's supposed to. He's just not adjusting well. I called Eck back, and asked what they could do. They got us in the same day - checked his eyes again, checked the glassed to make sure they were made properly, and talked with my son to see exactly what his issues were. After evaluating him, it was determined that maybe bifocals just weren't right for him. Dr. Eck exchanged the bifocal glasses for distance lenses at no additional cost to us since his insurance had already been used up on the bifocals, and gave us an over the counter prescription for reading glasses that he can get anywhere for just a few dollars a pair. I found readers (4 pair for $12) that fit him well and looked great on his face at Walmart, and got the distance glasses for his everyday glasses from Dr. Eck's office with the frames he originally picked out for his bifocals from earlier. Everything worked out spectacularly! Thank you to Dr. Eck and the team for treating us wonderfully - I expected things to go "less than perfect" and they met our needs with complete satisfaction and no stress! Now - the ONLY ISSUE - why don't you give your patrons who get eyeglasses cases for the glasses? THAT is the ONLY STRANGE THING I have to say. Oh yes, I asked what their "non-insurance price" is for an eye exam...it is $90. FYI.

Met Dr Thompson through his military unit and was referred to him for cataract surgery for my…read morefather. My father received an examination and consultations a couple years ago. The doctor at the time told him that he will not require any glasses to see and he will have 20/20 vision after surgery. I took my father to Dr. Thompson for a second eval. The clinic great and staffs are friendly and welcoming. Dr. Thompson's examinations are more thorough than the previous Dr's consultation. He was patient and took the time to explain things. He told us, in my opinion, the right thing versus what we wanted to hear. In short, he said that it's impossible to calculate the absolute perfect vision without impact to nearsightedness. He was able to provide us with clinical information on how the calculations are made, how the lenses are curved and how my father's eye curvature and astigmatism will affect the calculations. His motto was to under promise and over deliver. 2 days after the surgery, we are very pleased with the progress already. I intend to follow up on this review when my father makes a full recovery.

I would give zero stars if that was an option. I came here for a routine exam, I have no vision…read moreproblem but I did have a small bump in the corner of my eye, he said it was a "stye". I didn't think it was a stye, but hey, I'm not a doctor, so I just went with what he said. He referred me to another facility. Once I got to that facility weeks later, turns out, he was incorrect and should have never sent me to the other facility. The facility that he sent me to works very closely with him so they were very surprised when I showed up and everything that he had sent was incorrect. The other office apologized to me for making me wait and go through all of this hassle for nothing. They were pretty shocked about what happened. He wasted my time and my money, and I ended up having to go for a third appointment somewhere else. That also postponed my treatment. Dr. Schwerdtfeger (Dr. Joe) would not recommend. If you are a doctor and you were unsure of the next steps a patient needs to take, tell them that. I would have more respect for a doctor if they told me the truth, instead of sending me somewhere that couldn't help.

I kept putting it off because it seemed difficult and I thought my prescription was just too complicated. I finally decided to go to target and they were able to get me the right contacts and I only had to pay $16 for a six month prescription with my insurance and their first time discount. I've been very pleased! The staff were very friendly and patient with explaining different costs and different options. I will definitely be coming back.
