10/10 service. 100% recommend. Very fast and great communication and fixed truck fast.

I called David looking for a pre-purchase inspection at an EchoPark dealership. My problem was, I needed the inspection done the next morning. I was surprised when he said it's not a problem as long as the dealership was located in Colorado Springs. He checked in with me to confirm the appointment hours before. He walked me through the entire process and made sure I understood everything. There was no point in time that I felt talked down to for asking questions. He even went as far as to make requests to the dealer on my behalf. Just things they should be responsible for. I will surely be back! read more

I wanted to update my review from a few years ago due to how awesome David was when I was in a bind. I stopped at a gas station and filled up but noticed some dripping under my car. I could immediately smell the coolant and knew what the problem was. Opening the hood, I could see a Y joint hose for coolant was leaking at the seam. Seemed like it was spraying a fine mist as I was driving. Not knowing how much was leaking or how fast, I drove directly home. I had a very important appointment the next day, so I started looking for shops that might be able to get me in. Having David work on my car in the past, I immediately texted him asking him when he might be able to look at my car. However, I had not talked to him in a while and had no idea if he would even see the message over the weekend. So, I called around to other shops at the same time. I found a few who could get me in on Monday, late afternoon, but that wasn't really going to work with my schedule. Thankfully, David messaged back and said he could see me immediately. I showed up at his house and within 30 minutes he had already diagnosed the issue and was able to track down a new part, even though this part is not what I would call a normal part. Although David could have completed the job in probably 30 minutes to an hour, we talked a lot, as David is super nice, and he was super helpful showing me what he was doing and things to look out for as my car gets older and needs further maintenance. After like 5 hours (because we were talking and joking and actually had a fun time) my car was fixed and after a month or so, still works great with no leaks. I would trust David with my car more than any other mechanic. It's not super cool or expensive, but it's paid off, so it's the best car in the world and I want to be sure it lasts a long time. David is my go-to mechanic, and you can't go wrong with both his price or his work. Great price and awesome work. read more

After working with Dave a numerous amount of times it is safe to say He is the man to go to. I recently bought a 2002 Toyota Tacoma, not knowing much about cars I didn't realize how much of a fixer-upper it was, after my idle air control valve went out I found Dave and he knew the diagnostic almost immediately, he also told me what needed to be done on my car and what didn't need to be done on my car, One of the few reliable and honest mechanics left in Sacramento. He replies very quickly, is flexible, and knows what he's doing. I recently got my entire cooling system repaired by him, and I took my truck across the country with no problems at all! read more

I called David for a mobile inspection service on my 2011 Honda Civic and wow!!! He is so knowledgeable and explained every detail to me. He is very passionate about his work but also prioritizes his clients! He even drove with me to get a new battery and changed it for me on the spot. I'm never going back to the dealership and am so thankful he was so honest and caring. He taught me a lot about car maintenance. David you are a lifesaver, I'm so happy to have met you! read more

David is very caring and knowledgeable when it comes to this area! Not only that, he is extremely thorough and attentive with my car. It's always nerve wracking making sure I have a mechanic that isn't out for my wallet, and I know David is not that type of guy. I would 100% recommend him. read more

David has answered my call to help with car problems three times over a span of a couple of years. He has solved each case thoroughly, provided expert advice, and been so very professional each visit. The costs each time were extremely reasonable and the convenience of having his great service come to me and my car location is incredible. I cannot recommend David enough, largely because he is so honest and will even tell to when you may need to consider additional service providers. It's refreshing to know there are people like this out there who want to help. read more

I found David via Yelp. I spoke to him on the phone about the car problem I was having with my wife's Chevy Tahoe. He was very polite and courteous and explained his rates and set basic expectations. David gave me an estimate and agreed to come out to my placed of business based on a schedule we both agreed upon. David was 30 min early and essentially talked me through everything he was about to do or doing as he analyzed the error codes generated by the cars computer. David pointed to the items in the engine compartment that needed replacement. David not only applied his diagnostic fee into the repair cost (he didn't stack it) but also went and picked up the two parts my vehicle needed and didn't charging me a dime over what he paid. Of course, the parts were factored into my overall cost but I don't know a single mechanic that will drive to the car parts store and pick up what you need without charging a fee. Additionally, he gave me the choice of whether I wanted basic generic brand parts or upper tier quality parts. I appreciated that I had a choice. David worked in the hot sun to replace a thermostat, temperature sensor and flushed the old radiator fluid out of my vehicle while was inside resuming my business meetings. He texted me when he was finished and explained to me he had checked and rechecked to make sure everything was in proper working order and reset the error codes so that if another error/same error occurred, I would know if a bigger problem were looming. He was 100% accurate in his estimate and I was so impressed with his service that I tipped him. I don't normally do that with mechanics but he saved me a lot of money AND time. Both of which are fleeting. BTW, he also took and returned the old parts so that I didn't have to do it myself or hassle with discarding them safely. Normally, I don't trust mechanics (I've been ripped off before) and I rarely ever experience a sense of satisfaction when I leave an auto repair facility but this time I was thoroughly impressed. The other Yelp reviews all say the same thing. In the end, this is what you need to know about David and Highmile Mobile Auto Repair: a) David is trustworthy, b.) fair (won't price gouge), c.) courteous, d.) an experienced and able mechanic, e.) generous (doesn't up-charge for parts), f.) punctual, g.) a dedicated family man and overall nice guy. In a word: "Professional" If you're reading this review to help you decide whether or not to use Highmile Mobile Repair, I hope this review helps and convinces you that David is the real deal. I, too, was suspicious at first but I'm now a believer and will MOST DEFINITELY use David again for future auto repairs. read more

First off, I joined yelp to write about my experience with David. Hes very educated, polite, young and an enthusiast when it comes to mechanics. He knows his resources quite well as well as car products that can help you prevent further problems. I told him how he was just the type of person who I was looking for when it came to mobile mechanics. I gave him 80 bucks for a diagnostics which really all he did was find the problem and fix it in a matter of 20 minutes. It turned out to be only the fuses that went out and I have to say, although he didnt do much, that $80 was well worth having him come and fix the car because not only did I find a good mechanic to go to from now on, but that money I spent was well worth the job since he brought his knowledge and tools. Just from the fact that meeting such an awesome person made it worth it! Your the man Dave, expect a call from me again! -Ramtin read more

I decided to call Dave after reading the other reviews here on yelp. I spoke with him on the phone and he gave me a great quote for the repair, it was a fraction of the price that I was being quoted by several shops here in the valley. He also showed me the quickest way to grab the parts I needed for the job. The next day I took my car to him and was really impressed with his professionalism and workmanship. After recent headaches with some other shops in the valley, Dave's honesty and patience was very refreshing. He not only was kind enough to let me hang out while he worked on my car, but also showed me some cool things about what he was doing, which I'm always curious to learn about. After he was done with the work he took a look under the hood and gave me some pointers on how to maintain my engine until the next time I needed service. A great experience overall, plus the repair was top notch!  I am very grateful to have found him. I would highly recommend Dave's service. read more

As a young woman, I'm always skeptic about going to a mechanic alone...but seriously, I felt like I was walking into a shop owned by a trusted long time friend. I will definitely be coming back here and also would recommend it to all others (especially women who are afraid of getting jipped). Dave is an awesome mechanic. Gave me great prices (better than other places) and was explaining everything to me as he was doing it. I felt like I got a crash course on my own vehicle. read more

This guy is your go too! He responded immediately, took the time to explain the nature of my car issues and worked with me every step of the way. He is an honest man and will help you create a blue print to keep your car running smoothly for all future endeavors! The mechanic world needs more honest guys with integrity like this one. Thanks again! read more

I hired David to do a pre buy inspection of a used car. He was one of the most thorough mechanics I've ever met. He took his time going over every inch of the car inside, outside, and underneath. I also spent a lot of time going over his findings and helping me determine how much the car I was looking at was really worth. In the end, the sellers were not willing to negotiate, which was a bit of a disappointed... but I felt good not overpaying (by about 2k) for a car. read more

We had our alternator go out in our 2001 Ford Escape and had no idea where to take our car for repairs. We searched here on Yelp and found Highmile Mobile Auto Repair. Dave was extremely helpful and is one of the nicest guys around! He came out and did the diagnosis and provided me with a full quote which was much more reasonable than any of the repair shops I had spoken with. He was very efficient and also made note of some other issues that we may not have noticed. Our check engine light was also on so he provided us with the code for that and explained what we would need to fix that issue. When he was all done he walked me through everything that he did, showed me that the new alternator was charging correctly and even followed up after the fact to make sure the car was running fine. We were so impressed we already picked up the parts so he can fix the other issues that he found for us. I will never look at another repair shop again. Highmile has won all of my car maintenance business! read more

David was very professional and courteous. I expected for him to be a few minutes late, as I have never experienced a mechanic being on time; however, David called me half an hour before our appointment and arranged to meet me earlier. He was very thorough with his check, and even showed me a thing or two about cars. He took his time and was very accurate about pricing. I will definitely have him work on my car again. read more

Well, this is my first yelp review! These days it's really hard to come across a good and honest mechanic like David. I called him at 5:30pm on a Sat night as I was frustrated with a wired unfamiliar noise that my car was making. I was very amazed that he answered the phone and make me an appointment the next day which was a Sun. Very knowledgeable mechanic I must say! He inspected the car entirely and explained every little detail that he observed. He was able to narrow the problem which was a faulty tire . Also, provided some great recommendations. What I love about him was his honesty. He didn't try to exaggerate the problem or find unnecessary work for himself as a lot of shops do these days. There was an $80 inspection fee which was worth every penny! Overall, an A+ mechanic! Will I recommend David to the others? You bet! read more

I can't see why anyone would give David Negative review. He is professional and knowledgeable and knows how to do things right and gives a warranty on his work. David is self-employed and has no employees, but for working by himself he gets the job done. His prices are fair and competitive. read more

I've come to David to Diagnose and resolve my check engine light on my 2005 Ford Mustang. He is professional and provides exceptional customer service. He was able to install a fuel pressure sensor for me and clear my engine light. I've also came to him to install brand new rear brake pads and he has assisted me with configuring my fog lights installation that I had done elsewhere. His prices are affordable and reasonable and offers warranty on his parts. He takes cash, and or credit cards. No checks. He has a lot of experience. I trust to take my vehicle to him for all my needs. Also I will always choose to pay this honest licensed mechanic guy that is just try to make a living over any other company mechanic out there that's just trying to take my money out of a female that roles up in a mustang and "doesn't know nothing about cars". He does his work from his home, but his skills and customer service are worth driving to. He answers all of my questions in a very professional matter, and I can never thank him enough for dealing with my crazy life schedule and still getting all of my car work done in a timely matter. If you ever feel doubts about costs, or don't know where to go. Call or text David during daily hours. Because like we all do. He has a family also. Respect his business hours unless it's an emergency on your vehicle of course. read more

I have had David do several different repairs on my Nissan Sentra and he is extremely knowledgeable, professional, trustworthy, and a pleasure to work with. He explains the repairs in detail and is very detailed in writing his invoices, which I really appreciate. You can't beat his prices either! I feel very fortunate that I found him here on Yelp because finding a mechanic who is honest, trustworthy, and doesn't overcharge is like finding a needle in a haystack. read more

I called David after a clutch I had replaced 2 weeks prior was having issues, and the shop that did the repairs were avoiding my calls after they "initially fixed" the issue. David came out on a Friday night, and did a very thorough and complete inspection, noting and documenting every single detail on his estimate sheet. Before coming out, he did say he would be unable to make the necessary clutch fix, as he doesn't have the parts on hand, but would give me a complete diagnosis and assist as much as possible. He also gave me referrals of how to handle the situation and average costs of what I should expect if I chose to fix it at a different shop. David is someone you can rely on to give you detailed information in terms you can understand (if you are not too versed in automotive), which is very helpful. He ensures that everything he does he explains to you so you know where the issue(s) lie, and if needed to take it into a repair shop, you would be able to give them an exact description. He is very understanding, and is completely reasonable in price. If I ever need my car checked out again, I will definitely make the call to him first, as well as refer him to anyone that has an automotive issue. read more

Presuming that most of the general public has limited knowledge of auto care, I recommend anyone contact David for his promptness, transparency, patience with educating his customers, and timeliness. I have decent grasp of my vehicle since I have all maintenence records in my car, have a go-to mechanic at home, but listening to what David had to say was great confirmation and furthered my auto education. :) He is better with phone calls, so if you are an email person, call instead. He responded to my dinnertime phone call by breakfast the following morning (I mentioned it was no emergency when I left the message). David was out on a emergency job until 3am, so the 930am call shows his follow through! My husband and I were visiting friends in town, and had to find errands at the LA Flower Market, so we had 2 vehicles this trip. I mentioned we lived 5 hours away in the mountains, and I believe that David would be just as detailed with any client. David listened to the issues with each car, patiently and was very pleasant. David was up front about my situation over the phone and said could not do any auto computer repairs being a mobile mechanic, but could certainly diagnose, which he did. After diagnosis, he gave great advice on where to take my van, plus the questions to ask the shop, most of all to have the shop show me what's going on, and where to go get a good price. David finished diagnostics on each car in 2 hours (a 1997 Caravan and 2007 Imprezza wagon) at my friends house for $ less than a regular shop. His attention is just on your car rather than a whole line of cars and I find that valuable. We highly recommend him to anyone! Since David knows our vehicles now, on our next visit we will get the 100k service done on our Imprezza with him. Thanks David! read more

I was referred by my friend Ramtin to call David. I'm pleasantly surprised at when I met such an enjoyable mechanic / business man. He came on time, and changed my headlight, air filter, and oil. All of this was for a reasonable price, quick service, and he shared a lot of knowledge. He knows what he is doing and talking about. I will keep his number in my phone for when I need more services. I would recommend you give this gentleman a call and have him work on your car. read more

Needed to get my dad's truck looked at after his passing and went on a search for an honest mechanic. Was happy to find such great reviews about David. I sent him a text message and he responded and was great at opening lines of communication. He was able to get me in same day. I was very impressed with how professional he was for running a business out of his garage. After my oil change he even put in one of the stickers that you get like at a service center. My invoice was very detailed and he told me everything I would need in the future and approximately how much time/mileage I had until it would become necessary. During my inspection he would let me know if anything needed to be serviced now and ask for my approval. I really appreciated how thorough his work ethic is. He worked way past his normal business hours to get the job done and I really appreciated that as well. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. read more

I don't know much about cars at all, so it's nice to bring it to someone who is trustworthy and very knowledgeable. David is STELLAR. These days, it is kind of difficult to come across someone who seems to truly enjoy not only their profession, but helping others. My girlfriend's car broke down on a Saturday evening. Most other repair shops were closed at the time, and closed on Sundays. I called David (after seeing he was open on Sunday) and though he didn't answer, he checked my voicemail, however, and text back right away. He let me know that he was busy at the time, but he was willing to at least let me leave my car at the location. Though I didn't leave it until the next day, his reassurance that he would take care of me was very relieving. His kindness almost seemed too good to be true until we met in person and his 'customer service' (if you can call it that) was over the top. He seems more of a friend than anything! That might sound crazy, but just go to him and let him determine if he can help. If he can, let his proceed, you will NOT be disappointed! He even went so far as to text me afterward to remind me that the car was low on oil after hours...how cool is that? Thanks again David! read more
