Extremely kind and loving individual! Absolutely love the outcome of my hair with layers and bangs. I have to admit I was a hit scared, but in the end I am pleased with the results. Would absolutely love to go back!

Look how choppy and uneven it is!

Went in for the 55$ cut and shampoo thru Groupon. When I first arrived there was no greeting or introduction, he sort of just waved me to the chair and started washing my hair. He was very rough with my hair and it didn't feel like he was treating it with care. It felt like he was rushing. When I showed him my reference picture he said he could do it but my hair came out nothing like the picture! It felt like he was chopping my hair instead of being deliberate. At the end of my cut I had to point out hairs that he missed and had to ask him to fix it. I originally asked him for a wolf cut and wanted it shoulder length with lots of layers but when he finished it was too short and didn't have a nice shape at all. The whole cut only took about 25 minutes (including the wash), which I feel is way too short for a cut. He was nice however I felt that he did not pay attention to detail and was not careful or deliberate with his cuts. I honestly wasn't confident that he knew what he was doing. I felt that the service and result was not worth its price and I will not be returning. I really dislike my haircut and feel that it is uneven and choppy.

Evidence of my horrific highlights. Nowhere near my roots... this photo was taken 3 days after my initial appointment

With a name like "Highlight Salon" you'd think they would be good at highlights... WRONG. I recently purchased and redeemed a Groupon (cut, conditioning treatment, full foil highlights, blow-out) for The Highlight Salon Boston. When I purchased I couldn't wait to get my hair done and was filled with excitement. Flash forward to July 13, when I redeemed... When I arrived at the salon I found out Naji would be my stylist, granted I didn't actually know his name until I was leaving. I explained what I wanted done and even showed him photos of my hair from 6 years back (last time I had my hair colored). He was working with Virgin hair, which he has essentially ruined. During the appointment he hardly spoke to me AT ALL. Now, I'm not sure if there is a language barrier or what, but this struck me as odd. My groupon was supposed to include a conditioning treatment and a blow out. The "conditioning treatment" was regular conditioner. He did absolutely nothing special. The blowout? A frizzy straight hair mess. I have naturally very curly hair and was looking forward to a blow out. I didn't get one, but I wasn't too displeased as I hardly ever straighten my hair, so this was still something new. When I got home I noticed my color was off. Very streaky like a tiger, not close enough to my roots, not consistent, etc. I decided to give it a few days and see if with my own styling it looked better. It did, but there were still lots of areas with very bad mistakes. A few days later I called the salon about coming in for a complimentary touch up. A woman answered and said I could come in on the 24th at 4pm. Today I came in for my touch up. When I first arrived a male stylist greeted me. I told him my name and that I had an appointment at 4pm. Shortly after, Naji called me over. He did not remember me AT ALL and claimed he did not color my hair. He also asked me repeatedly if I had called to make the appointment today and stated he did not have any info on it. I told him I called several days ago and was told to come in today at 4pm. He did not remember/admit to coloring my hair until I presented the business card he had hand written his name on and given me at the previous appointment. Anyway, he finally took me to a chair. He NEVER gave me a robe/cloak to protect my clothing. I pointed out my concerns with the problem areas and he argued with me. He even had the audacity to tell me "the color is perfect". The color is FAR from perfect. I repeatedly explained it was streaky, had hard lines, and not what I asked for. Even when l pointed out the exact areas I had concerns with he kept questioning me. He eventually put in 3 foils. JUST THREE. There are so many more problem areas but I was afraid to say more, in fear that it would turn out even worse. The areas he "fixed" look slightly better but there is still far more work that needs to be done. He asked me again at some point during the process when I called. I actually had to get out my phone and show him it was last Friday. Finally, a female stylist told me it was her I spoke to on the phone. At least someone remembered me, I guess! Anyway, after washing out the bleach he started brushing my hair. This man has no idea how to brush or style curly hair. HE STARTED YANKING/BRUSHING AT MY ROOTS. Every stylist knows this is not how you brush hair and it is very damaging. You start at the ends! Then he started blow drying... even though I previously told him I did not want that. Its completely evident that he has no idea how to handle/style curly hair. I left looking like an electrocuted lion. I'm seriously questioning if this man is even licensed, honestly. This whole experience was a complete nightmare. I will now have to visit a new stylist to have all the damage he did repaired. I will never, ever step foot back in the Highlight Salon. This place is an absolute disgrace.

As much as I care for my hair, I've never felt the urge to have a personal go-to hairdresser. Usually I'll go with a salon offering a deal and even then I don't care to request a specific stylist, until now. Ramy is a hair genius! I didn't know exactly what I wanted for my hair, I just didn't like how my grown out balayage looked. My goal was simply to "touch up" my balayage to look like before, pretty simple. But Ramy knew exactly what I wanted and took it a step further to completely TRANSFORM my hair color! I've always received compliments for my hair and even though my friends liked my hair with the balayage before, they could not OBSESSING over my hair this time. Ramy's understanding of colors and tones combined with his skills and total care absolutely changed my hair and I could not be any happier. Thank you Ramy! You're awesome! :)

My friend and I bought groupons for partial highlights and went in nervous having never colored our hair. But we ended up super satisfied with our colors. Rima worked me and another amazing lady worked with my friend. They both explained how the pictures we showed them would turn up on our hair and were upfront about extra charges. I chose to pay extra for full highlights and we both love our resulting hair. Highly recommend this place to everyone!!! Ps: Conditioning treatment is excellent

Updating this review since Rod saved my hair. I called the salon and explained that my hair turned out orange, and Rod scheduled me to come back and he fixed my hair. He took his time and listened to what I wanted and my concerns. Go to him for coloring!!! Loved how the color turned out after the fix and will def be scheduling touch ups and haircuts with him only. Highly Recommend Rod he was so great and took his time fixing my hair. Thanks Rod!!!

What I got vs what I asked for

Really unfortunate experience. Went in with groupon for haircut deep condition and blow dry. There was a booking error / the salon was behind so I was switched hairdressers mid appointment and rushed. The deep condition is just a two minute hair mask. I asked for a trim and long bangs and provided a photo for reference. Left with three inches cut off and a bowl cut. Very disappointed and cant wait for my hair to grow out

So, I have been seeing Naji since Leeba Salon days. When Naji moved to Highlight Salon. I followed him there. I have been tremendously happy & satisfied having my once a month wash, blow dry & treatment with him. So, today I finally decided to spice up my regular hair routine & get my color done from having roots jet black & bottom blond transform into all blond with light pink highlights. Naji was so patience with me & my specific color needs & he does his magic once again but this time he left me in cloud 9! I had the ultimate blond I wanted with light pink highlights! He's a miracle hairdresser getting it done half the time I usually would be @ a salon getting major color work on my hair. I have a thick & coarse hair but he managed to blow dry it to perfection every time! I highly recommend Naji. He's a blessing to my hair & I will continue to see him for all my hair needs!

I've never experienced that level of immediate attentiveness and it reminded me of texting a close friend for a spur of the moment plan that they're always down for. Liz then continued the close friends vibe in person during my wax. You always know you're going to literally expose your private parts during a Brazilian wax but Liz was so personable and sweet that I basically exposed my inner personal journey to her in like 15 minutes. That was the quickest and most comfortable wax I've ever gotten. It's been a few weeks now and I normally get ingrown hairs but she waxed so cleanly that I STILL have barely any growth *and* no ingrowns. Liz is the hair(y) godmother haha

I ended up booking with Evan because I believe Liz was unavailable, and I took her word that Evan was great too and she was! Evan was super friendly, sincere, and made the whole experience very comfortable. I had no pain whatsoever (this was for a back wax). Also, I really appreciated the affordable pricing. Done! This is now my place. I'll definitely be back--pub intended. :)

First off, shout out to Tammy. She gave me a fantastic belated bday experience. I've had my nails…read moredone at the myriad of different nail salons in Southie and DTX area and wasn't impressed. So I didn't have my hopes set too high with miniluxe. BUT! I was wrong - Tammy made me feel **especially** taken care of. It's one of the few times I genuinely felt like I was getting pampered at a nail salon for a simple mani???? Plus, I loved the ease of booking a next day spot online and also, there were so many times to choose from. I accidentally tipped 50% but it was such a great experience I was like "what the hell, sure". Thanks Tammy!!!

If you're debating choosing miniluxe over your neighborhood nail salon, just save your time and…read moremoney and choose the latter. I was gifted a gift card of $100, over half of which was spent on the basic pedicure. First of all, the seating for the pedicure was awkward and uncomfortable. You are sat up on a tall bench, directly next to other customers with barely any space between you for a handbag. If you're older or have mobility issues, don't even bother. And don't expect any massage features on your chair, these are just cushion benches. The nail polish looked fine, but they hardly worked on the rest of my feet, leaving dead skin hanging from my heels and debris around my cuticles. I get my feet done once a month so they weren't terrible to begin with, but I swear my feet themselves almost looked worse after this! And here's my final straw. I looked away for just a few minutes trying to relax, and I look back down to find my toenails have been shaped in complete circles. For those of you that have ever suffered from an ingrown toenail, I'm sure you are wincing right now. About a week post-pedicure, I'm suffering from an ingrown nail that's a direct result of poor training. For $52 plus another $10 for tip, this was ridiculous. I can't speak to their manicures, but if you're in the market for a pedicure, Boston is full of places where you'll pay a fraction of the price, get a back massage while you wait, and not have to soak your toe in epson salts for a week!
