Went to freshman move in at Radford U for my daughter and found this place. It was convenient being open late so I decided to try it. I ordered the bbq wings and the sub special with an Italian sub, fries and a drink. The price was reasonable and they delivered to my hotel within a decent time. I was not a fan of the Italian sub and I am not used to a sub coming warmed up. The wings were super crispy which was not my favorite type of wings but I was still able to eat them. All in all it was not my cup of tea due to preference but I would definitely try again since they do have a variety of food and good reviews. read more

When we place our order, the guy was rude and was like are you gonna order or what so that was the beginning of it. We ordered a large supreme calzone that was burnt. Didn't have hardly any vegetables in it or anything else except for pepperoni and sausage. The cheesesteak sub works was supposed to have extra mushroom it did not. Order a cheese pizza that had cheese, pepperoni, and hamburger on it and was burnt. A large fry that was cold. Reordered the food. Got a cheesesteak that did not have hardly any meat, no lettuce or tomato and did not have any mushroom that I could tell which we paid extra for. The pizza was burnt again. The calzone didn't have hardy mushroom in it which we paid extra for. And the fries were at best as small and they were cold and hard. Would not recommend. read more

Ordered 20 Highlander rolls for delivery. The rolls include one ranch and one marinara for each order of 10 rolls. We asked for an extra marinara on top of that. We received two ranches in one box and one marinara and one ranch in the other. So, all in all ONE marinara sauce for our 20 highlander rolls. The marinara cup was only half full. Such a huge disappointment when you love their marinara sauce specifically. When I order over $40 worth of food, I'd expect to get what I ask for. read more

This is definitely a fabulous little college town pizza place. We come here every time we visit our daughter, who attends school at Radford U. On this occasion, we shared the mozzarella sticks as an appetizer. I love how they do their mozzarella sticks. They are crisp and oh so very gooey and cheesy. The sauce was a tad sweet for my taste, but overall a great little appetizer. The pizza rolls are wonderful; hot, cheesy, yeasty, puffy goodness! I can't imagine a visit to Radford without a stop here to get pizza rolls. I wish there was a Highlander pizza by my house. I'd live on the pizza rolls. The service is warm, attentive and makes you feel like you are among friends. It is a very laid back atmosphere that reminds you of being home. We have a tried a variety of their pizzas, and found them all to be pretty good. My husband's favorite is the super supreme. The atmosphere is a bit run down, but at a college town pizza place, you aren't looking for fine dining. Prepare to take some pizza rolls home with you. Order extra. I was told the driver was on the way. It is now 7:42. No food. I called back. The person that answered the phone called the driver. He says he is 10-15 minutes away. This is clearly unacceptable. The person asks me what he should do. Well, how about a discount for all the people that have been starving for the past 40 minutes? No, he says. So to you, say goodbye to a 10 year customer. The steak and cheese (without mushrooms, because Blah mushrooms) Faster than usual delivery time which was a plus for sure. Driver was very pleasant! Update after eating: First off, do not get the sweet tea, it's garbage. It also did not come with a straw for the drink. Prepare to load your own salt/seasoning on the fries. They were really quick, the food was still hot when it got here and the delivery driver even called us to make sure she went to the right house! The Highlander rolls were so good and cheesy! The most useless place in radford. Started to make to make an order for delivery for 20 Buffalo chicken pizza rolls, then decided we would pick up and we instructed the person taking our order that we would be picking it up. We were told it would take 30 minutes. We get to the establishment 20 minutes after ordering and they have no record of our order. We reorder our food and are told it will take 10 minutes. 20 minutes after getting to the restaurant we get a call saying our delivery driver is at our house with our 20 BBQ pizza rolls. We ordered Buffalo, and had already changed to pickup. If it wasn't one of the few food places still operating in radford we would have never ordered from here, and surely never will again. The pizza is mediocre, at best, but the "Highlander Rolls" are divine. The subs aren't great, but they hit the spot if you're looking for a sub (that's not from Subway) and some fries. The Highlander Rolls though are basically pizza dough, wrapped up with cheese inside and a variety of different toppings inside the rolls. The cheese and banana pepper Highlander Rolls are good, as are the bbq chicken. I am not a huge fan of the ham and cheese ones, but the rolls are so tasty, any will do! They come with ranch dipping sauce and/or marinara and are positively crave-worthy. I went to college in Radford and ate them often. When I graduated, moved away, got married, and was pregnant with my son, I regularly would have friends and family coming up from Radford bring me some Highlander Rolls. They are THAT good. I craved them when pregnant! Can they be made at home? Eh...probably. Will they be as good? Probably not. Only thing to be aware of: The staff is primiarily college kids. If you are calling anytime from 8pm to 2am, you are going to experience somewhat of a wait. I would advise pick up instead of delivery because they tend to get backed up. They have also lost my order a couple times so i had to wait again. also they need to update their open times. Zero stars!! Mediocre food and Pizza taking longer than expected is occasionally acceptable and reasonable. They took it to another level and without explanation of duration when questioned about delivery time, the driver decided to curse at us. He then went on to take our credit card and walk off before explaining that he forgot his credit card machine in his car. We proceeded to ask where he was going with the card and he threatened to call the cops. Surely enough the cops arrived and respectfully dealt with the situation. It took 3 hours to receive my order. When I called after nearing the 2 hour mark, an employee told me that a driver knocked twice and that there was no answer. I told the employee that I was sitting by my kitchen table and have 2 dogs, so therefore I would've heard someone knocking and there would've been a lot of barking. The employee also told me that the driver called my phone. I had no missed calls and I had my phone right next to me. It all sounded really fishy. He wasn't apologetic at all and seemed annoyed and exasperated that I had contacted them. I've ordered here from this location before and while their delivery takes a long time (around 1.5 hours), it has never taken this long. My advice is to not order from here unless you have a lot of time to waste/aren't very hungry. In terms of the food, it was okay. It's standard italian food and nothing too special. The reason I gave a 1 star review is because I am angry that you are automatically taking a percentage of the bill to tip the owners. I decided to get carry out to save the delivery charge and the tip for the delivery driver. Only for my bill of $6 to be a $9 bill. That is ridiculous! Today my husbands sub was delivered 2.5 hours after he ordered it less than a mile away. It was delivered in an unmarked car for the second time after they couldn't find our address. I love this place. I have never had a bad experience. I usually get the "Manhattan" pizza (I think it's called) which is really just hawaiian pizza but it is SO GOOD. The wait is not as long as other reviewers claim. I've never had to wait more than 45 minutes, which is normal for any pizza place on a weekend. Service is always great.
