I enjoy the pizzas here. They also have a great selection of sodas in the fridge. My favorite pizza when in season is the bbq chicken pizza and my favorite drink is the Maine Root spicy ginger beer. It is the spiciest, sweetest brightest ginger tasting ginger ale I have ever had in my life. It's amazing. The pizza slices are huge and I love the crust. I haven't a bad thing to say. Very good pizza. Huge slices. Love the crust. The specials are always excellent as well. Not super ultra gourmet but very good. Sometimes simple is better. Definitely a college hangout. COVID19 pandemic is ongoing right now and they are wearing masks indoors to pick up and the staff are masked which makes me feel much safer getting food here fro takeout. They allow small numbers of people to dine in however it doesn't feel safe to me during this pandemic so I do not. Haven't seen many other do that either. For anyone looking for some really good (large portion sized) pizza and a laidback and relaxed atmosphere....Benny Nicola's is the place you need to checkout. It's in the City of Radford near the University of Radford. Just a heads up...a slice of pizza here is equivalent to approximately 3 or 4 slices of Little Caesars, Dominos or Pizza Hut. For a slice of cheese pizza and a can beverage you're looking at $5 for an inexpensive meal. You really should check this place out. This is my go to place for pizza (and for me it's a 45 minute trip). Also when I'm in the Fredericksburg area in northern Virginia, Benny Vitali's is my choice for pizza there....same great pizza and atmosphere. read more

Very rude employees. Wanted to get a pizza so I walked to the location since I was within walking distance. Had my dog with me and she is an ESA. The denied me entry. Would not come to the door to take my order. I had no where to tie her up. The hours are also incorrect as I went by at 7 the other night and they were closed. No seasonal hours were posted. Went today for the first time. My husband, who works at RU, had heard that this place was good. We went for lunch. It has a very small menu and a self serve drink case. The pieces of pizza are huge!!! One slice really filled me up! The pizza is thin crust and really tasty. The drinks all cost $1 and they have a good selection of options. I recommend that you check this pizza joint out. I didn't give it 5 stars because I think the general cleanliness could be improved. read more

I recently purchased one of Benny's large $35 pizzas. Damn, that's a lot of money for one big pizza that was more than delicious and satisfied my friends and I. My only issue was after making my purchase the employee asked his coworker should they make a fresh one or "get an old one". Are you serious? If I'm spending this kind of money on pizza then why shouldn't I get a fresh pizza. I understand how food rotation works in a restaurant and know they probably had the get rid of the other one before the fresher one. However don't say that in front of the customer! How bout, "one of the ones you made earlier in the cooler" not the old one. Like I said the pizza was good, store was clean, and staff was friendly. Just maybe phrase your rotation a little differently in front of your guests. read more

Benny Nicola's is probably one of the best establishments in Radford. They're open very very late so that kids ~doing stuff on weekends~ will have a place to eat. The pizza is super inexpensive and if you haven't noticed from the photos, the slices are massive, about the size of two or three regular slices combined together. The downside is the late night menu is just cheese and pepperoni but during the day they have other types as well. There's a ton of different types of drinks and they also have beer. They serve breadsticks as well which are very very delicious. If you need something sweet, a local creamery sells their ice cream there. It's a fun spot, I wouldn't recommend going late at night on a weekend if you have a family because you're probably going to wait a long time and be surrounded by some people under the influence, but during the day it's very pleasant. Okay, I wanted to see what all the hype was, so we tried this place. What a scam! First, the guy taking our order was rude and acted like we should know the ordering routine at this joint. The pizza hardly had any sauce and they didn't have mushrooms as a topping. Paper plates, flimsy plastic forks and knives, what a joke. I was disappointed and was hoping to find the best slice in Virginia, NOT! Merones in Loudoun County and their pizza joint at Va. Tech beats this place hands down. Can you say GREASE? I mean Jesus H Christ. I've never come across a slice of pizza with such a disturbing amount of grease on it. If you can over look the inevitable clogged arteries that come with eating here, the topping selections are slim to none. Its OK for an occasional drunk food stop, but even then you are better off just skipping this and ordering dominoes. read more

I can't brag about this place enough. The portion is HUGE and for $5? Sign me up! Anytime I go in the workers are always super friendly. Better than that, the workers are fast! I can usually be in and out the door within five minutes of placing my to go order. They also have the largest selection of canned soft drinks I think I've ever seen.
