If I could leave 0 stars I would. I ordered a CHEESECAKE and a CANNOLI and it took over an hour and a half. I would understand if it was something being cooked but these foods are coming right out of a refrigerator. I called after an hour and the woman said it should be out for delivery. 20 minutes later it still wasnt there- mind you, I live right across the street less than 2 minutes away from this place. I finally cancelled the order because it was taking too long and 5 minutes later the delivery guy called and asked if I had ordered the cheesecake, then continued with "I totally forgot your address man." Great pizza, ok service. You can be placed on hold for a while and it usually takes a good 45 min-1 hour to get your pizza. They have other items on their menu other than pizza, the highlander rolls for example are really good. read more

Gyro was actually pretty good. No excessive sauce, just the right amount of lamb and fresh veggies. Not bad. Bacon cheese fries were pretty much disgusting. The fries were old and soggy with the cheese just thrown on top and a couple pieces of bacon? mixed in. Service was friendly enough and I only had to wait half an hour. Open late. Convenient location. Lackluster food. Luckily it was pretty cheap. All around meh. read more

Went there last night and the credit card machine was not working, no big deal, and paid in cash. I head home to see I have 2 missed calls from Highlanders. The owner said the credit card machine ended up accepting the charge. He offered to have a driver bring me my money back and everything. I see some of the other reviews on here about these guys being "assholes" but you treat people right and stay calm and good things usually happen. I imagine these guys take nothing but drunken/stoned phone calls all night, every night. read more

I have given this place at least 20 chances and it just continues to disappoint. They are CONSTANTLY getting the order wrong. From forgetting sides/drinks, putting stuff on subs I asked to leave off or sending the wrong item (I ordered manicotti today and they sent cheese ravioli). The delivery drivers are often rude and incompetent. The food is OK at best. Some things are better than others. The philly cheese steak is okay. The fries are awful. Not to mention they always take at least an hour to deliver food. Easily the slowest delivery in Radford. Save your time and money and eat elsewhere! read more

I enjoy the subs there, probably my favorite in the area. However they suck with their timing. I have waited quite a bit of time when ordering pickup, gotten there and its still not ready. They have also lost my order a couple times so i had to wait again. also they need to update their open times. The delivery people are ALWAYS late but tonight they were especially late. I ordered my food at 7 pm. My estimated delivery time was 7:44. I called the store to see if my food was even prepared yet and I was put on hold. My food was eventually delivered at 8:40. It just so happens I got the wrong food and that food was also cold. So I called back twice and was put on hold again. The woman on the phone was very nice and was prepared to bring me what I originally ordered. However, the man who delivered my food called me back and tried to get me to explain how I got the wrong food. As if it were my fault. He then said he would have to speak to his boss and he would call me back. That was 25 minutes ago. I cannot not explain how disgusted I am. The reason i am giving this place a ONE star review is because I placed an online order at 8:00 pm and when I got to the store they said they had not received the order and that they would make it and it would be ready in 20 min. 30 min went by and I went back into the store and they STILL had not started the order. I asked for a refund they didn't even know how to refund us. They couldn't get a hold of the owner to handle the problem. The lady that was helping us made comments about us being angry and got in my face. Very unfriendly and helpful staff. This place disrespected me and my family. This pizza place is convenient to Radford University. This is the only positive about it. The food is mediocre at best the service is less than friendly and they are not accommodating to the handicapped whatsoever. In fact, the cook tends to park in the first handicap spot out front. I personally witnessed a handicapped customer complain about this and he was told they didn't care. read more

The pizza is good, but I'll never buy another one after my experience today. I called in my order and was told my pizza would be ready in 20 minutes. I ran some errands and arrived at the restaurant 30 mins later. When I arrived, I paid and was told it would be a few minutes. My pizza was "in the oven". While I am waiting I notice the guy behind the counter starting a pizza like the one I ordered. I'm running late picking up my daughter so I inquire if that is my pizza. I am told no, it's another just like it. 20 minutes later it is clear that it is my pizza and it wasn't even started until after I paid. I wouldn't have paid or waited if I knew when I arrived that they had not even started the order that I had called in 30 minutes earlier. I asked the girl at the register (who said they did,) but she was a little confused when I asked what they had. Apparently the owner throws whatever topping you'd like on a cheese slice and tops it with a little more cheese, before throwing it back in the oven. I think he even brushed a little garlic butter on the end of the crust. I'm told this method is fairly commonplace. When she said it was $5 for the slice I thought to myself it was a bit steep, until I saw the size of the slice - very generous, and $5 was perfectly fair for it. When it was ready I sat outside to eat. The crust was PERFECT. It was just how it should be - Not crunchy, but baked just well enough that you could hear and feel the gently crunch when you bit into it, but not crunchy all the way through. Good cheese/sauce/pepperoni ratio, and I am very impressed. Don't know how I hadn't tried this place when I had stayed in Radford for three months, years ago. Lastly - the owner came out and said they forgot to offer me a cup of water, and he gave me a large cup of water with some ice in it. I thought this was very nice gesture of hospitality, and I'll definitely pop back in for a slice the next time I'm in Radford. Great people, great crust, great slice. Thanks, guys! read more

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE unless you have a whole lot of extra time and patience. 2nd time ordering from Highlanders and the 2nd being very disappointed in their service! Its taken HOURS for the food to get here. They are 3.2 miles from my home. They have said they lost the order/they delivered it to someone else/they cant find their employees? I get off work at 11pm i thought this place would be convenient for dinner but the they have been more of a hassle than anything. Food was mediocre each time. Awful experience. Do not eat here!!! Ordered through the slice app two nights ago an hour before the restaurant closed, called at 2:45 and they told me that my food was with the driver that was currently out and to wait 20 minutes. Waited the 20 minutes and my food still hadn't been delivered, called back and no one answered. I called the next day and told the manager what happened and she told me i could call any time any day and they would bring me pizza rolls in place of the ones that were never delivered to me. Called tonight to order my pizza rolls and got attitude from the girl on the phone. She told me i could not get my pizza rolls for free because there was no manager there to "put in a code" and then a man gets in the phone and says i can. Well let's see, I'll tell you right now I will NEVER order deliver from this place again and I advice you not too if you want hot food in any amount of decent time. I placed ordered at 8:20 last night. They told me it would take 45 minutes. I was literally 7 minutes away from their store. The reason I ordered delivery was because my two year old had hurt her arm and was hungry and I didn't want to load her in the car to go get it. I called the store an hour later and asked when my food would be arriving, the lady there said my food had left and it should be arriving any second. Twenty minutes later I then called their store again wandering where my food was still and asked to speak to a manager. I was told there was no manager in the store but she could have them call me when they came back. She then took my phone number down for the third time. My food FIANLLY arrived two hours later,my child had done fell asleep waiting on her spaghetti. I told the driver I was giving him a tip and was not paying for the food(which by the way was cold and wrong). The driver asked if he could call his manager and I responded with if you can get them on the phone more power too you. He called, manager still would not come to the phone. The lady told us okay, I told her to have her manager call me. Not 15 minutes after the driver left the manager called me(when he found out I wasn't paying for the crap) he tells me that my order was right and I didn't wait hours for it. I told him he wasn't getting the money for it and he said that his drawer was going to come up wrong and that he had been in the back busy. He told me he tried to call me which was total bologna. I asked him why his employees had told me he wasn't there the 5 times I called and tried to speak with him. He told me again that he was too busy to speak with me. But yet he "tried to call me". He then told me I needed to pay and I told him it wasn't happening and his response was he was calling the cops. I told him to call them. I am a manager of a restaurant and I would NEVER let my employees deal with an angry customer much less not speak to the customer until I find out they aren't paying. Get real. NEVER AGAIN.
