I feel bad for all the horrible reviews on here but I had a fantastic experience. I was in the area and needed my nails done so my mom recommended I go here and see the lady who does her nails (Tina). I arrived for my appointment and was immediately sat. Someone started the water and had me soak my feet. Tina had me soak my nails while she finished up a clients nails. During that time a nice young guy (maybe early 30's) started on my feet. He was fantastic! I asked to skip the paraffin because I'm just not a fan. Instead he massaged my feet longer. Tina did an amazing job on my nails. She did exactly what I asked and didn't rush. My nails came out beautifully! I am very impressed. Don't let the small simple look of the place fool you. Go to Tina and you will come out very happy! read more

The worst service ever. I am teenager that decided to get her nail done for the first time and I can see that there were favoritism between the customers especially to white demographics. I did a full acrylic set and a gel pedicure, and the lady that did my pedicure try to rush the process by finishing in 5 minutes, as welling as getting the color wrong, they look annoyed whenever i try to correct flaws and mistakes. The lady that did my acrylic also rush the process making my nails look incomplete and chips. The overall experience was draining and bad. Please do not go to this salon. I went for the first time to this nail salon and I have to say the people are very sweet, but the technique is not good when it comes to dipping. I had gotten my nails done on a Tuesday and less than a week later the dipping was already being lifted?! It usually last two weeks and I am appalled at the fact that it didn't even last me a week. For me to be paying that much money for a dipping service is ridiculous. I am going to have to go to my usual place and have to pay again to get my nails done because they were not done correctly. Very sub-par nail salon bordering on shady. If it wasn't for my experience here, the nails themselves are maybe 3 stars. Not great, but they look ok from a distance. I made an appointment through ClassPass. Normally I only book workouts there, but they recently added some partnerships with businesses offering beauty services like manicures, so I decided to decided to give it a try. I booked my appointment and had already paid. When I came into the salon I told them I had an appointment and had booked through ClassPass. They said ok and didn't question it. I seemed to be on their list. A guy did my nails and was nice enough. Definitely not the best manicure I've had but it was somewhat ok in a pinch. After it was done, I had obviously already paid in advance, but I wanted to support the business still and handed over a cash tip. The guy took it and said all was good and said bye. Then after I was already at my car, they come running out saying it wasn't enough. I was confused at the sheer audacity in demanding a higher tip as I'd already left a good tip. Then I realize he's trying to say I haven't paid. I told him oh no I had already paid and it was paid for when I booked my reservation. I went back into the salon and tried to explain, but the other employees acted like they had no idea what was going on. I apologized for the confusion at the time, but I should not have been the one doing any apologizing. It was 100% their problem. Either an owner who wasn't there signed up on ClassPass without communicating with the employees at all, or they were trying to use this as a way to lure new customers in and then charge them double. I ended up paying them for the service there. ClassPass refunded me on their side and will likely be removing them as a partner. In conclusion, this place is either shady or very disorganized and neither is great. With so many nail salon options available, this one is simply not worth a trip. read more

I grew up right up the street from Highland Nails, so it was the first nail salon I ever went to. I'm pretty sure whenever I got acrylic French tip manicures for junior high dances, I got it done here. Memories. That said, this is an average nail salon. I live in Nashville now, and the prices here are way below what I pay in Nashville for a gel manicure. But you get what you pay for. I agree with a lot of the other reviews - this place is fine in a pinch, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go here nor would I use it for special occasion nails. I was just home visiting my family for the Christmas holiday, and I needed a manicure desperately. The gel manicure looked really good, but it lasted about a week less than I thought it should - it chipped faster than usual. That said, it's really not a bad place. Went for the first time to get a mani/pedi and will never be going back. Here are the specifics... Started by having an appointment for 1pm. Arrived promtly at 1pm only to sit in the massaging chair for 20 minutes without any water for the pedicure soak before a technician finally came and started the spa water. Sat there again patiently until 1:40 when someone finally came over to me and began my pedicure. The advertisement clearly states at least 15 minutes of foot reflexology, which was not given. He probably spent 5-7 minutes only. The sea salt scrub was nice at the beginning, but he kept washing it off with the water instead of rubbing it around on my skin. The parrafin wax was very nice however, peachy scent and very warm and hydrating to my feet. But when another customer came in for a fill, my nail tech left me in the parrafin for over 15 minutes again. Can I say how frustrated I was?!? Argh!! To top it all off, when I left the salon, I had bits and pieces of wax all over my legs and feet. The tension begins to rise and rise... Then the woman who was working on my manicure made me feel rushed and unimportant. She was more concerned with other patrons paying at the front than my nails whatsoever. Upon looking at my fingers at the end, they were smudged and uneven; there were even bits of polish on the fingertips! Barely any massaging whatsoever. I am about to be a boiling pot at this moment... The worst part of the experience came at the end. I had been quoted one price over the phone, but charged $12 more upon completion of services rendered. When I confronted them about it nicely, yet showing surprise, they told me they misinterpreted what I had asked for on the phone. How hard is it to understand "How much do you charge for a Deluxe Mani/Pedi?" I believe a language barrier was to blame here. If that is the case, please have someone answer the phone who is fully bilingual so as to prevent further occurrences from happening. I almost blew a gasket and wanted to leave the salon ASAP, so I made my husband (who had gotten a much better pedi than I) to pay for our services. Bad service, long wait, overcharged from quoted price. Will never be going back and highly recommend you don't either. read more

Desperate times for desperate measures. And trust me, in this case, my toenails needed some desperate attention. So bad to the point the bf was calling me 'The Claw.' So I stumbled upon this place with my sis. I have a word to describe my experience here: strange. Strange staff, strange (or frustrated, rather) clientele, strange decor, and strange, moody manager - who of course was the man chosen to work on my gnarly feet. Great. Compared to other nail salons, the prices are decent, but you really aren't getting much for your money. Sure, I didn't mind the wait in the massage chair, because I was in no rush and what's the big deal? You get to sit in a comfy chair with your feet soaking. But I can see how that would irritate someone in a hurry. When it came time to do my pedi, the man was steaming from a fight that we all witnessed 5 minutes prior. I looked over to my sister and gave her this look like, "oh shit, the scary man is going to work on my feet." Not the best representation of the businesses. Later, when a group of ladies were leaving he got mad again and they stormed out. God knows what went down, but it didn't look pretty. Meanwhile, I am just chillaxing and kind of laughing at what's going down, I realize he rubs exfoliant on my legs and immediately wipes it off with water and repeats the same process with all the other elements of the pedi - like he was just going through the motions in a rush. This place is walking distance from my new neighborhood! So wanted to support the local business in my new hood my boyfriend and I tried it out and treated ourselves to a pedicure after a long run! The staff was very friendly and nice. Was telling us alot about the neighborhood and the business in the area. The prices were very reasonable, as well. Not as cheap as my normal place but for it being so close it was worth the extra money. Everything was clean and t here were quite a few regulars. Do not go here! Place is super shady. Scheduled a pedi through class pass and when my feet were in the tub they claimed they don't and never did you class pass. Which is a lie there's reviews on Yelp of people using their services through a class pass. They had me leave and even took the bottle of water that I had already drink from that they gave me. Went here on a recommendation from a friend. Requested the owner, Kevin, because my big toe had been hurting for a couple months since a previous pedicure where I ended up bleeding. Kevin was awesome! Very gentle and explained why my toe was hurting--the previous person had cut too far in the side of my toenail. He explained how he does pedicures compared to some other places. I came in with my mom while visiting for Christmas, and this is the best pedicure I have received in a long time! My feet feel so soft and smooth, and my nails looks amazing. I got a very nice massage and the atmosphere was very warm and inviting. I used to go to Highland Nails when I lived in Dallas, and have since moved away. Kelly, Kevin, and Kathy all greeted me when I walked in and we caught up with each other. I love coming home for the holidays and supporting a family owned neighborhood business. read more

The girl I had did such a quick and lousy job that my manicure didn't even last 24 hrs. Since I already paid she then got in a big hurry to go on to another client and did my polish in about 5 min. and stuck my hands in front of the fan instead of dryer which was probably for the best since it was filthy. My daughter and I both use the services offered by Highland Nails. We love to linger in the massage chairs and adore the spa pedicures, but when time is of essence a quick polish change is always available. This place is so inconsistent! Pedicures are average, no real issues there. However, when it comes to their gel manicures, they can't get it right. I had a perfect gel manicure that lasted over 2 weeks & I was thrilled, so of course I returned for a fresh one & once I got there I requested the same manicurist that did such a great job last time. I was told she wasn't available & instead I was given a trainee apparently. Long story short, he filed my nails until they were paper thin, cuticles were non existent & the polish job was sloppy & rushed. When it came time to pay, I showed Kelly(manager/owner) and she had to spend an additional 15 mins dremmeling(sp?) the edges so that it didn't look like a toddler painted my nails. Bottom line is you shouldn't have staff doing things they are OBVIOUSLY not trained to do. The 3 stars are because they are friendly & very prompt even during a busy Saturday. However I can't say they provide the best service considering all the other salons populating the area. Good for a quick pedicure, bad for a quality manicure. read more

Maybe it's just me and I always get the manicurist who happens to be helping another customer simultaneously, and the oldest pedicurist of all time who has the long nails that dig in while giving you a 'massage'. When I went in for the first time last month, the female owner got me right in and was very nice, I got a spa pedicure and had a long massage on my legs and feet, and they did a great job on my rough heels!
