I started treating myself to dip for my nails around 6 months ago. I chose this location because it is right outside of my neighborhood and the price was right. The very first visit was "ok" they did a fine job, but I didn't get the feeling they were eager to help me with understanding the different color bundles for different nail treatments, but ok, maybe it was an off day. There are several men providing the service and that is fine, but they didn't seem very friendly. I didn't get the feeling they liked their jobs very much. Good customer service means a great deal to me. I went a second time mostly out of convince, and this time the guy got aggravated with me because I wanted to look at the colors and he wasn't ready for me to. Again I am new at this. I muttered under my breath but loud enough to be heard, "This is probably the last time I'm coming to this place." He got a little nicer then, so I'm guessing he heard me. My third and last visit, I brought a friend who was getting her nails done for the first time. She expressed to me afterwards, that the staff seemed very cold. So we searched and found a new salon where the ladies and one brother are all family, super nice and engaging. We all talked (the staff and all the customers) we laughed and really enjoyed our salon experience. We will continue to drive past Highland Nail in the future to get to our new salon. read more

Hands down the worst customer service I have ever experienced at a nail salon. I came in as a walk-in for an SNS removal on my fingernails. I know that that service does not bring in big money for the business, but I still do not think that warrants me to be treated like I did not exist. When I arrived there were 3 people getting services. 1 person left shortly after my fingers were wrapped in foil. Then this is where things went downhill. I proceeded to wait 45 minutes for the gentleman to come back and remove the foil as he proceeded to walk around, chat and perform services on the original 2 customers and 1 additional customer that came in. I had to visibly lay back and make an auditory groan in order for the man to finally return and complete my service. Then, as he was removing the powder he stopped 5 times to text, place calls on his cellphone via speaker and non-speaker. I felt so dismissed. Then, when I told him that I didn't want my nails trimmed or filed, just SNS removed, he abruptly pointed for me to go to the sink to wash my hands. No verbal request. The atmosphere is very peaceful. This was my first time. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and helped once I picked my color. I went in for a mani/gel and walked out very pleased! I was in & out in less than an hour. No complaints, would definitely go back! read more

Received pedicure, which was excellent. My issue is they would accept my gift certificate my friend gave me for Christmas. I have been having health issues since the beginning of the year so couldn't make it in prior to today. How does something someone pays for, expire? It would be different if it was a coupon, but it was a gift certificate my friend purchased. They claim it expires in six months, so if you get one, use it immediately. The nail tech cut my fingers FOUR times. I thought she would be slightly more gentle after the first cut, but no. Also, the tools weren't clean and my blood was not cleansed from the tools and I dipped my bloody finger into the dip jar. Very unsanitary. After we were finished I was charged $50 for my dip nails and no apology for the rough-ness with my nails. read more

Absolutly worst experience I have ever had in a nail salon. I came in because my usual place was booked solid and I need my nails done for an even that day. When I walked in everything seemed fine. They greeted me and sat me down as usual, but when I started to get my nails done there was obvious agitation coming from the nail tech and she was taking it out on me. Threw my hands around and burnt me multiple times with the spinning file. Then when she started to file the tips of my nails she filed so roughly that she broke open my skin. Lastly, as I was leaving I noticed that the white, from my French tip, was smeared really badly on one nail. So, I asked her to redo it. That was a mistake.... She destroyed that one finger! My nail has broken because she filed it so thin, and the skin around it is rubbed raw. I will NEVER go back to highland nails. Would NOT recommend! read more

First pedicure with my daughter was great. Second one, last one, was not. She was ignored. Her nails were done last. They started on people who came in after us before doing hers. She held nail polish for over an hour so of course she eventually dropped it and broke it. They didn't say anything to her. They didn't replace it so she could get the sparkles she wanted. I know they know how to treat kids because the first time was great and that ain't it. I get you make less on her polish instead of a full pedicure but she will eventually be big enough for a real pedicure. It won't be there though. read more

I have visited Highland Nails a few times in the past for pedicures. My friend visits them often and told me I just had to go see Nina to have my fingernails done. My friend recommended I also try the dip powder since I get annoyed about regular polish chipping so fast. So I decided to treat myself to a pedicure and get my nails done as well. They are under new management and have remodeled the inside. They have new comfy massage chairs. Everyone was friendly and Nina did a great job with the dip powder. I also like that they use the bowl liners for pedicures and everything seems sterile. I did not get the lady's name that did my pedicure but she did a great job as well! I love this place! Wonderful people who really know nails. Nina has been recommended to me and she was great. She saw the damage that has been done to my nails by previous gel polish and she gave me a treatment to make my nails grow back stronger. My nails look incredible! My boyfriend and I are going to a silly, tacky Christmas party so he got his toes done in holiday colors to match mine, which amused us all. Overall a great experience. Five stars. read more

Got there as soon as they opened so it wasn't busy for a simple nail removal. Apparently nobody at this nail salon knows how to take off nails. Staff is rude. waited an hour just to leave with bloody fingers and my nails even worse than when i came. I was asking questions just to be ignored. I used to be a very frequent flyer to this nail salon. I loved how cheap the manicures were and they had some very talented nail art work. Recently, the service and quality of work has gone down hill. Most workers played on their phones and disregarded their customers. I went in for a simple white manicure with pearl powder on top. The lady who did my nails had to be shown how to file an almond shape and that came out pretty decent, some were more crooked than others. She would also rudely brush my hands out of the gel curer instead of politely allowing me to remove my hand. I don't think she spoke one word to me and they are usually very nice and talkative.The clean up job of my nails was awful. I didn't notice how much powder and polish were left on my cuticles until I got out into the sun. I was left with product on my skin that was just enough to make the whole manicure look unprofessional. For a $50 manicure (although i always remember my previous gel manicures being no more than $40 including nail art from this place) I would expect my nails to at least look somewhat professionally done. When i got home, I was able to clean up my nails to make them look decent, but I don't think I would recommend them, especially for spending that kind of money. read more

I'm so upset. Went in for a shellac manicure and pedicure and walked out with my nails like this. Not to mention it was $40 for a shellac manicure. This used to be my place when living in Baton Rouge for gel manicures, but now it's under new ownership and has gone to garbage. Will not be revisiting. 10/10 won't recommend. read more

Today was my first time at Highland Nails and I will definitely be back. Right away I noticed that it is the cleanest nail spa in our area, by far. I was cheerfully greeted when I walked in and pointed to a pedicure chair. They asked which pedicure I wanted from a menu (I chose the deluxe) and was asked to choose a scent for my pedicure's scrub and lotion (I chose lavender). The staff was helpful finding the gel polish of the color I chose for my toes and immediately got to work taking my gel off of my nails while I was getting my pedicure done. The pedicure was great - the massage part was firm and not just a 'rubbing the lotion in' level of firmness, which I was grateful for. The tech took care to thoroughly remove all clauses and scrubbed my heels until they were soft. The hot stones and towel wrap felt great too. The young man doing my manicure did a great job, was quick, very thorough, and was nice and talkative. Highland Nails seems personable, clean, and their mani/pedi is great. Will be back! read more

I have been getting my nails done here for the past at least 4 years possibly 6. Of course I've been to other places but I just love this place. The owner knows my name by heart. I get my eyebrows, shellac on my nails and pedicure for a total of 67$ it is expensive but the people are friendly they have a bunch of color choices. I've never left there mad or upset about anything. Honestly these are the only people I trust with my eyebrows. I will continue coming her once a month until this place shuts down literally. For pedicure they do a hot rock treatment and a soft wax treatment to make your skin smooth. read more

One of the nicest nail spas in Baton Rouge for sure. The decor, lighting and calming music make it seem much more upscale than many of the other strip mall places in town. They have a great selection of nail colors to choose from and the service is prompt and friendly. I came here bc the reviews made it sound so great. It was a busy Saturday. Told them I needed just a pedicure and was kind of in a hurry. The lady who greeted me made it seem like they could get to me fairly quickly. Waited for almost 30 minutes. Then the technician who did my pedicure was not friendly or polite. My first experience here was great... My second experience was not so great. 2 hours to do a mani and pedi with not so great results. I got a regular mani and the polish was far from perfect. After having to repaint 1 of my toes 3 times and redo 4 of my nails, I could not spend anymore time waiting on someone to fix me. Either get more help or tell people they are going to have to wait. I've been getting my eyebrows done here for years, and occasionally my nails as well. I haven't had the best experiences, but I recently was less than impressed with the service. I recently got my nails, toes, and eyebrows done by a lady that was very impolite. The entire experience was not pleasurable. The color that I got on my nails did not match the color on the samples. I proceeded to show her how the colors were different and she was extremely rude about it. I didn't like the color that was on my nails and the lady could care less. This is the best pedicure place in Baton Rouge! We enjoyed our long good massage deluxe pedicures w/ paraffin wax included for only $34. It s impressively clean and well maintained with new and expensive pedicure chairs. They also carry expensive colors here too; and more importantly, they re not old and dried out like I ve seen at typical nail shops. Went to highland nails today to get a pedicure and manicure with gel taken off. When we arrived all the ladies were very busy in their own conversations to worry about the customers. The lady that did my toes did not stop talking to the other ladies working and every-time she would talk she would stop or not pay attention to my pedicure. Then she went on to the scrubbing of my feet she scrubbed so long that the bottom of my feet feel raw.( which they did not need because I get a pedicure every two weeks) but it was because she was talking and not paying attention. Then she did the lotion. She did not massage my feet she just kinda rubbed the lotion on. Now for the polishing she only put on coat of nail polish. And on some nails she didn't even cover the whole nail. I have nail polish all over my toes. It's is awful looking. Now for the manicure they took off my gel. Then pushed back my cuticles and somewhat cut around my nails. But did not get everything. I did not want clear polish but they did not buff them out with the white thing that most places I've been too use. Then when we were paying they asked how it was and I said my toes did not look good so the lady came over and some what fixed it. I do not think this whole experience was worth 51 dollars.
