Unfortunately, Icon Eyecare's onboarding/training has been the least effective onboarding implementation I have ever encountered. Delays and gaps in communication during the interview and onboarding process whereas a week or more went by where I heard from no-one. The employee introduction that was sent out to introduce me to the staff wasn't about me but rather another employee. The Peter Principle appears to be in full effect at ICON Eyecare, with individuals placed in leadership roles without the requisite competencies to effectively manage teams, processes, or organizational growth. Turnover is rampant. Advancement within the organization appears to be heavily influenced by personal relationships with leadership, specifically Dr. Xxx, rather than performance-based criteria and historical data. Additionally, it was verbally shared with me by a middle manager that long-term professional success is closely tied to one's relationship with Dr. Xxx, and I opine that negatively impacts role stability and retention. Employment at Icon Eyecare hosts a very poor culture in that it is highly cliquish and gossipy, with inclusion and influence concentrated within particular groups. The mileage reimbursement rate is significantly below industry standards. 27 cents a mile will not cover wear and tear on your vehicle. With that, there is also criteria that must be met on the year and value of the car you drive in the field for Icon Eyecare. I was given instruction from my supervisor to stop driving when I hit my maximum mileage payout as the reimbursement rate was capped and I wasn't getting paid for the additional miles driven. Leadership practices at the middle-management level tend to lean toward a command-and-control (yelling and name calling included) approach, which impedes engagement, trust, and performance. It has been noted that techs do not need experience to work at Icon Eyecare as Icon will train them. The employees receive training and then leave the organization and take their new skill set where they are paid a fair wage and are respected. As a member of the growth team, I was disappointed to learn that my business cards as well as my supervisor's business cards contained an incorrect phone number for approximately eight months which directly impeded outreach and effectiveness. It is important to note that there appears to be a tight budget in that I was unable to receive current collateral to promote the business despite multiple requests. Once received the newly ordered referral forms, I realized I was provided the incorrect collateral, again, by my supervisor. The organization's extreme risk aversion to the Kickback Law compliance materially limits what a physician representative can reasonably and effectively do in the field and middle management doesn't understand the law whereas poor direction was given and a violation occurred. Organizational changes occur frequently and rapidly, often without soliciting input from those most affected, which can disrupt workflows and reduce engagement. Employees who raise concerns about ineffective policies and procedures appear to face adverse consequences from coworkers and leadership, which discourages constructive feedback and continuous improvement. In the eight months of my employment, I observed two CEOs and a Director leave the organization, all of whom appeared to be pushed out by a cliquish leadership team. This high-level turnover raises concerns about organizational stability and leadership effectiveness. Rather than investing in existing employees and internal capabilities i.e., CRM for the growth team or for an iPad in the field, the organization opted to acquire a competitor. Given existing operational challenges, this decision raises questions about capacity, strategic priorities, and oversight. My advice to future employees is to ensure that all employment-related agreements, job descriptions, and offers are documented in writing, signed by both parties and dated. In my experience, within just three months, I went from being offered a company vehicle to being offered a $1,200 monthly stipend instead, and ultimately was required to use my personal vehicle in conjunction with a mileage tracking platform and being reimbursed at .27 cents per mile. The absence of a job description and organizational chart limited clarity around responsibilities, decision-making authority, and team structure, which can affect onboarding, performance expectations, and overall operational efficiency. There appears to be limited responsiveness from senior leadership to emails from staff, which can hinder collaboration, timely problem-solving, and employee engagement.

I wish someone had warned me. Do not go here!! They messed my eyes up! STAY. TF. AWAY! They don't have a clue what the f..k they're doing. I hate them for what they did to my eyes, my appearance and my life! They turned what was a minor issue into a major problem! Heed my warning or go at your own peril. There are other providers, who do strabismus surgery, in the Denver area, go to one of them. I wish I could turn back time and never go here. I really, really do.

I've been seeing Dr. Dinkle for several years and absolutely love her service. She's an excellent doctor and I wish I didn't have to write this review. I'm an adult with strabismus and an astigmatism. I woke up this morning to my right eye swollen shut and when I called to make an appointment I was told I'd have to be referred to somewhere/someone else. The lady said it was because for adults they just do routine exams. This doesn't make any sense. I'm a patient, whose been with your office for years and I need to see what's going on with my eye and all I get is a referral?! It just doesn't make sense to me. I'm frustrated, annoyed and my eye still hurts. Love the doctor, the rest of it I could deal without.

Refuses to do anything other than her tech job then verbally attacks you saying your doing wrong to her when that isnt what was happening. No point in filling out your insurance on forms before you go in because they wont do any of the work regarding it and put everything on you to do while your there whole your being pushed to a room without even being properly checked in first then when you need their information for insurance its impossible to get them to cooperate. I've never been treated with such terrible customer service. That tech needs to be fired as she has no business in customer service! I will never return here.​

Upon arrival, the doctor's assistant came in the room and told me we would need to dilate my son's eyes which would sting and take two hours. I refused to do this until the actual doctor saw him and recommended this herself. The assistant was obviously annoyed with my request and I was met with the same attitude by Dr. Reem. She was aggressive and really pushed the dilation before even discussing the issue with me. It seems like they can bill a high cost for dilation which is why it was pushed on me so aggressively at multiple points throughout the appointment. I was asked again upon checking out when I would be back to dilate his eyes. I got a second opinion from another eye doctor who told me the growth would probably go away and to just leave it alone for now. I had an awful experience here and will not be returning, Dr. Reem was terrible.

After paying $4,500 for a surgery that was supposed to correct my vision, I am left with worse eyesight than before. After the first surgery, my prescription was incorrect, and I was told I'd need to wait six months for a follow-up surgery on one eye. During that entire waiting period, my vision was extremely uneven and blurry. I was traveling overseas during much of that time, and it was very difficult and uncomfortable trying to function day-to-day without being able to see clearly. What made it even more frustrating was that I was not offered any temporary solution to help me see better while I waited. When I finally had the second surgery, I hoped things would improve. Unfortunately, my eyesight is still not good. I never had a problem with close-up vision before LASIK, but now I need reading glasses at all times just to see up close -- and my distance vision is still not clear. At my most recent appointment, I was simply handed a prescription for glasses. To be told that after paying $4,500 for LASIK, I should now spend more money on glasses to fix what the surgery was supposed to do, feels unacceptable. I regret having LASIK done here and wish I had gone elsewhere. I would not recommend this clinic to anyone considering LASIK.
