I had an appointment at 8:00am on 2/27/2025 for a 3D mammogram with ultrasound. I pulled up to the building and sat outside the front entrance for 10 minutes and no one came out. I called the office and was told someone would be out in just a minute. (when you call the number listed, you are not calling the office but an answering service). After 20 minutes of waiting and 3 phone calls to the office, I drove around and found a parking spot that was permit parking only, but I didn't care because I was already late for my appointment. When I was in the exam room the technician goes over my information and states I am there for a mammogram. I corrected her and said a mammogram with ultrasound. She told me my insurance would not cover the ultrasound, and she could only do the mammogram. I told her I would self-pay it's not a problem. Then she tells me I do not need an ultrasound. Excuse me? If it's written on my script directly from my OBGYN, then yes, I do need it. Then I am told there is no doctor there so I wouldn't be able to get it anyway. That is a flat out lie! If there wasn't a radiologist there, then why do you sit in the waiting room after your exam to get your results? There was most certainly a radiologist there, but the technician was refusing to perform the ultrasound which was written by my physician. At that point, I gather up my things and walk out. She is not a physician and should NOT be giving medical advice! MY OBGYN faxed my script to Weinstein Imaging on 2/4/2025, 3 weeks before my appointment. That gave the office plenty of time to call me and let me know the ultrasound was not covered and ask if I wanted to proceed with the exam and self-pay. You do not assume anything when it comes to someone else's health.

The office is beautiful and comfortable. Dr. Chang is very kind and he reads your results while you wait. I will never go elsewhere for my care!

Make sure to check with your insurance for coverage if you want the convenience of having your lab tests here. It is housed in the same office complex that serves Greentree medical. When I went for my initial apt with a GI doctor I wondered why their reception check in area was dark. I later learned that you must register at Greentree medical and make any applicable co-pays. Once I did that I was almost immediately taken in and seen by the nurse. As is the case she addressed my symptoms and shortly after that I was seen by a physician from the Allegheny Center for Digestive health. We had a consultation and he gave me recommendations on how to address the health issue I am dealing with. I learned that he does do diagnostic procedures but those are done in the outpatient building next to Allegheny general hospital on the North Side. Outpatient scheduling is done remotely by one of his schedulers located at their main office at the outpatient building. Dr. Kulkarni, whom I saw seemed very knowledgeable; he prescribed a procedure for me and a follow up apt in about 3 months. The outpatient center falls under Allegheny Health network. They accept most major insurances. Due to HIPAA regulations no photography is permitted inside the offices.
