    Salmon BLT with green beans!

We often find ourselves having Tuesday night doldrums. What better way to beat the early week blues than to enjoy dinner and Music Bingo with Dallas? It is a great time and you could be a winner! Starts at 7 and it is hard to leave before the grand prize of $20 gift card in the fourth round! ($5, $10, and $15 prizes beforehand!)

Had a great experience at HighDive Kitchen + Bar! We started with the MegaPretzel and Beer Cheese, which was absolutely delicious--perfectly baked pretzel with rich, creamy cheese that had just the right amount of tang. For mains, two of us ordered the BYOB Smash Burger, which was tasty and cooked just right, while the other two had the Reuben and really enjoyed them. I also had an Espresso Martini, and it was fantastic--smooth, well-balanced, and a great complement to the meal. Our server, Katlyn, was fabulous! We were shocked to learn it was her first day because she was so attentive and friendly. She made our experience even better! Highly recommend this place and will definitely be back!

First time here and we will be back! Haven't been somewhere in a long time where everything and I mean everything exceeded our expectations! We sat right away. Got served drinks right away. Manhattan was delicious! Took our orders right away! Got our appetizer (can you feel where I'm going here..?) and food promptly. The food was hot, tasted great, filled us up, and was what we wanted! The salmon was cooked perfectly, soaking in a light buttery sauce. Steak had smoked blue cheese crumbles on top and wow! That added a whole new flavor to the med rare steak. The redskjn potatoes- ok I don't know what they did! Almost like roasted, then crispy, then smashed, then a cheesy/garlicy sauce was dribbled on the top!!! I mean come on!! We sat next to the chef station and the fries and smash burgers all were a delight to watch being prepared. Next time we will have to go try those!

I had an excellent experience when my wife and I dropped in here on the Sunday after Cinco de Mayo. You read that correctly, there is at least one restaurant open in Kalamazoo on a Sunday, so look no further. The service was excellent - we sat at the bar and Courtney was the bartender that helped us. She engaged me in a wonderful conversation about the WWF, yes we reminisced about growing up in the 90s, AND she made great recommendations for food and drink. The food itself was excellent too. They were still serving their Cinco de Mayo specials, so we got queso and pico, a quesadilla and then I went off the Mexican specials and for the caprese sandwich with grilled chicken. The fries were awesome, all of the ingredients were high quality, and I will 100% be coming back to try more stuff. Cool bar, great staff, great food.

The place was spotless and the staff was very attentive even though we were there during a busy lunch. The burger was juicy and cooked to a perfect wellness. I will be back !

We had a nice first time here! I think they're short staffed today, as our waitress seems to be the only one on the floor. We weren't in a rush, so the wait time was fine. We had an Oliver burger - delish - with fries. Our friend had a plain chicken breast (off menu, as they are a finicky eater). It isn't a giant menu, but we all came away happy. The music isn't too loud, the tvs are little, so the sports/poker wasn't in-your-face. Nice place!

Quickly becoming one of our favorite places to eat! Their entrees are good, but their appetizers are GREAT! Do yourself a favor and try the Bavarian Pretzel...but be prepared to share--it's HIGE!

    Olive Smash burger

Really good food and great service! We were seated right away for it being Valentine's Day! Had the Olive smash burger and was delicious! Little heavy on the onions, but not anything that I couldn't adjust!

Every single time we have visited, the food has been amazing!!!! The atmosphere is perfect and the staff is fantastic! I took my daughter there last night for her birthday! As always, it was amazing!!! My steak was cooked perfectly. She loved her shrimp fettuccine and the truffle fries are out of this world! Thank-you HighDive for always making it a great experience!

    Pesto ravioli with added chicken

Ambiance is really great. As they advertise, dive bar meets fine dining. Pesto ravioli is top notch! I added chicken which took it to a whole new level. Only complaint, they hardly gave me any chicken. Still amazing though. I'll for sure be back for this dish again! Server was new and really great! Check this place out.

I was so excited about this option when I saw it on Instagram but there is so little mention of it in the menu (basically an, "ask us about our mini cocktail flight" at the bottom of a page) and no leaflet showing the flight details or price. I'm very much a person that likes to try a little bit for everything so once I remembered it after we left, I had a moment. I got a Gin Fizz and the bf got a Blueberry Vanilla Mule. The gin Fizz tasted very much like lemonade, even with the addition of cran flavoring. The Blueverry Vanilla Mule was very strongly clove. If you like clove, you'd likely like that one. We decided against getting second cocktails since happy hour had ended, but got a flight to try their stuff. We like the liqueurs but they are hard to sip straight due to all the flavor they pack. Our favorite was the Pink Peppercorn Gin out of everything we tried. We would definitely come back, but please print out the cocktail flight list or at least suggest it if people are hemming and hawing over what to get like I was.

The tour is $20 and it comes with a flight, which we were going to try anyway. Or you can just do the tour for $10 if you don't want a flight. It's not much of a "tour" in a physical sense as their production facility is small, in just one room, but we learned a lot about distilling in general, as well as a lot of information about the company and their products. I'd highly recommend it especially if you don't know much about the company. The interior has a 20s speakeasy feel, which I really liked. It's a little fancy but comfortable and welcoming. The drink menu was pretty large and it was tough for me to choose which drink I wanted after the flight. I ended up with the blueberry margarita because it was on happy hour. It was really great! Not too sweet. Nate got the cherry black Manhattan which we both enjoyed too. I loved the flight because we got to try pretty much all of the spirit offerings, including their amaro, Oaxacan green corn bourbon, and pink peppercorn gin, which were all unique and very tasty. Our bartender was knowledgable and very kind - great service. I'll definitely be back!

We ordered a chicken sandwich and a salad for our lunch entrees! Both were very good and presented very well! While the food is good and quality feels high - the price is also on the high side. For a sandwich and a salad, waters to drink, we spent over $50 for our lunch! Just something to be aware of! While we had time - the experience was not fast. Something to be aware of if needing a quick lunch. The restaurant was not overly busy but the wait was a little long to receive our order. I ordered a salmon salad - the menu nor the website specify if the salmon is wild caught or farmed. The service was on the slower side and could have used more attention to detail--coffee refills were missed, and we didn't have spoons to stir our coffee. Only one person in our group was disappointed--the chicken and waffles were described as dry, with the chicken coating lacking flavor. Everyone else enjoyed their meals, and the desserts were a standout; they were excellent and loved by all. One area that could use improvement is the upstairs bathroom. While it was well stocked with supplies, it needed cleaning. Clear signage for the upstairs restroom and perhaps a nice piece of artwork would also be welcome touches. Here's what I felt missed the bar... First, a speakeasy's initial location of "secrecy"... I don't think the top floor of Monaco Bay is that difficult to find. In fact, there is a giant "Gatsby" sign lit up outside. Even if it is modern, perhaps an unmarked door at the entrance could enhance the overall feel. Second, the expectation of innovative cocktails that take you back to an era. The specials were the same as Monaco and the bartender didn't know what the night's special actually was... There's a lot of potential here to boast old custom cocktails from scratch- with a modern twist. Third, the atmosphere. The exposed brick, dark woods, and lavish style add to the tone. Would be really great if there were candles on tables instead of incredibly bright lights drilled into the floor. I did enjoy the unique lights hanging above the bar though. The decor played into vintage modern, but it's lacking some authenticity. Also, the DJ seemed to just play popular culture. Would have loved to hear some swing or jazz remixes instead.

We arrived exactly at 4 PM after seeing this weekly promotion on social media. Upon arrival, the venue was empty, yet we were completely denied access to bowling due to a private event, and told that no bowling customers would be allowed until 6 PM. Before anything else, I want to clarify an important point: "Free" does not mean customers should be treated poorly. Free events are often meant to introduce people to a business, attract new customers, and create a welcoming first impression. Offering something for free does not justify rude behavior, dismissive communication, or shifting responsibility onto customers. Respect and basic courtesy should apply regardless of whether an event is paid or free. What bothered me most was not being turned away, but the blame-shifting that followed. When a business publicly advertises "Free Bowling Wednesdays" and encourages people to show up at 4 PM, it is reasonable for customers to rely on that information. Adding the word "limited" on social media posts does not communicate that no bowling customers are allowed at all until 6 PM due to a private event. Those are two very different messages. Instead of acknowledging the lack of clear communication, the responsibility was shifted onto us as customers with statements like "you should have called." This is unfair. Customers should not be expected to double-check an advertised public event by phone when no such instruction was mentioned. What made the experience more disappointing was the lack of empathy no apology, no ownership of the confusion, and no attempt to acknowledge how frustrating it is to arrive on time to an empty venue and still be denied entry. This review is not about complaining. It's about accountability. Clear communication and basic courtesy go a long way, and this situation could have been handled very differently with a simple acknowledgment and apology.
