We came here for the first time this week and I was super excited to try it out. We used to go to the coffee shop at this location and the change over to the bar is phenomenal. It's cozy and intimate and the chairs, while large and a tad annoying to be seated at when you have a coat on (unless you sit on it, you can't really hang it anywhere) were comfortable. It took a bit of a wait to get waters and took almost a half hour to get our first round, by the time we got them it was almost last call so we didn't get to try the others that we wanted. It was not busy, there were several bar seats and 4 separate open tables (Wednesday night) so the wait was not due to being packed. I got the Michael Jackson inspired drink, Heaven Can Wait: "peach mango vodka with delicate hints of basil and subtle plum bitters" It was very overpowering with its sweetness and unrecognizable fruit flavor... Oddly enough, I did not get peach or mango flavors. I felt it tasted most closely to a sour gummy worm and children's Tylenol. It was surprisingly thick and wasn't cold enough for my liking, it was weirdly warm for a cocktail so I added ice from my water to get it a more appropriate temp. I would not get this drink again. I had a cocktail I wanted to try next but it was just so slow we weren't able to do it. I didn't like the 20% automatic gratuity, because I think automatic is always annoying. I understand for large parties, but for any check I don't agree. ‍ I would be happy to give the place another chance next time we're in town, but for now, I think there's some room for improvement when there are so many fantastic local cocktail options.

Respect. A spicy gin drink.

Great atmosphere, unique drinks, fun vibes, and welcoming establishment. When the bartender asked what I wanted, I told him I was at the mercy of the mixologists. Something gin based. He asked if I liked spicy, and said "I got you." The "Respect" was a tasty libation. I'll be back, and I'll tell everyone I know. Cheers!

LOVE this place! So classy and a beautiful speakeasy, intimate vibe. The perfect location for a meet up with friends or date night. Lots of options for cocktails. Been here several times and will continue to come back and again and again!

Admittedly, I only tried their cocktails this time but they were EXCELLENT! The service was superb and the ambiance was lovely! I plan on going back for the food! Also, it was PACKED by 10:30 PM on Saturday!

This is a nice, clean, bar with a speakeasy type atmosphere. The drink selection was great and the prices weren't too bad. The drinks were all really good. We were a party of six and it was not too busy. The drinks came out fast, but we had to go up to the bar to pay when we finished our drinks.

A nice cocktail was exactly what was needed to end a long day. It was definitely a nice surprise to find this place directly across from the hotel! The outside doesn't look like much, but when you enter, you are swept into a serene environment. Black out curtains drape the windows. Soft lighting and rich colors adorn the bar. The walls are covered in old black and white photos. The entire experience was wonderful! Unfortunately, there was no food, but the drinks were fantastic! I would absolutely come back.

Incredible place. Gorgeous interior, incredibly kind and knowledgeable staff. Absolutely loved the story behind this place as well. Stopped in for a few drinks and loved chatting with the bartenders. They know how to make an incredible drink and have a huge and creative selection. I tried their famous mint julep (made with rum) and this is now exactly how I plan to order my mint juleps in the future!! Wish I had known about this cocktail bar sooner- it's absolutely wonderful and so are the people. Will be back next time I am in town!! 10/10

Came for a private event - left with a great experience and a promising spot for future nightcaps. The Fried Green BLT sandwich is amazing and the Black Eyed Pea hummus is full of flavor. The owner, Daniel, is a magnanimous man and this establishment is full of history and homage to some artful aspects of the Black Experience. This place has a great energy and is worth your time to explore. Take a friend and grab a drink - share some food. You won't be disappointed.

This place is one of the most beautiful places in Downtown Kalamazoo. The vibes of this place : This place is all about the vibes, starting from the classic cozy romantic atmosphere, and the wonderful classic choices of music. It is really beautiful and I would definitely come here again. The service: All the staff were really friendly and very professional of what they do. The food : The Hummus dipping with Pita bread was super good ! The corn bread was also good. The BLT sandwich was delicious, although it had bacon it it and I don't eat bacon. So I took it out, but yet the sandwich was still delicious ! The drinks : Oh god, the drinks are something to die for ! I tried : - Pandora's water Mocktail - Toro Mocktail And both of them they were super DELICIOUS !! And I was really glad that this place had great options of Mocktails. Thank you so much Dabney for having this wonderful experience to have a joyful romantic cozy dates ! Definitely will be coming here again !

Incredible atmosphere at Dabney & Co. Not only were our drinks incredible but Teodor was so friendly and knowledgeable! You can tell he loves his job and getting to learn about people and their lives. He gave great recommendations, did great explaining different cocktails on the menu, and went above and beyond when we ordered off menu later in the night. Ambiance was incredible as well, the low lights and comfy couches definitely made the place feel cozy but elegant. We're sad we missed the live music, but will definitely be back :)

So excited for this opening! First soft opening was Oct 2022, second soft opening is Nov 11-12, 2022, and then full opening soon after that with exact date TBA. Be sure to read "The Man Behind the Name" on their website. Love their dedication to honoring history, creating community and sharing meaningful drinks together! They will also have live music and can host events. Love welcoming this much-anticipated cocktail lounge to Kalamazoo!!!!

Great atmosphere! Loved the music. Such friendly bartenders- Kileean made me the best aperol Spritz I have ever had. My husband had the paper Plane which was also delicious. Definitely a place to check out in Kalamazoo.

Perfectly balanced drinks. A Manhattan and the bartenders twist on a blood orange Tom Collins.

I was so excited about this option when I saw it on Instagram but there is so little mention of it in the menu (basically an, "ask us about our mini cocktail flight" at the bottom of a page) and no leaflet showing the flight details or price. I'm very much a person that likes to try a little bit for everything so once I remembered it after we left, I had a moment. I got a Gin Fizz and the bf got a Blueberry Vanilla Mule. The gin Fizz tasted very much like lemonade, even with the addition of cran flavoring. The Blueverry Vanilla Mule was very strongly clove. If you like clove, you'd likely like that one. We decided against getting second cocktails since happy hour had ended, but got a flight to try their stuff. We like the liqueurs but they are hard to sip straight due to all the flavor they pack. Our favorite was the Pink Peppercorn Gin out of everything we tried. We would definitely come back, but please print out the cocktail flight list or at least suggest it if people are hemming and hawing over what to get like I was.

The tour is $20 and it comes with a flight, which we were going to try anyway. Or you can just do the tour for $10 if you don't want a flight. It's not much of a "tour" in a physical sense as their production facility is small, in just one room, but we learned a lot about distilling in general, as well as a lot of information about the company and their products. I'd highly recommend it especially if you don't know much about the company. The interior has a 20s speakeasy feel, which I really liked. It's a little fancy but comfortable and welcoming. The drink menu was pretty large and it was tough for me to choose which drink I wanted after the flight. I ended up with the blueberry margarita because it was on happy hour. It was really great! Not too sweet. Nate got the cherry black Manhattan which we both enjoyed too. I loved the flight because we got to try pretty much all of the spirit offerings, including their amaro, Oaxacan green corn bourbon, and pink peppercorn gin, which were all unique and very tasty. Our bartender was knowledgable and very kind - great service. I'll definitely be back!

600 is such a cute place for a lovely meal!…read more We have been multiple times but stopped in on a recent sunny afternoon for some lunch. 600 is so light and airy, we really love the atmosphere!! We had a really great waitress, I wish I would have gotten her name! She was doing the job of hostess and waitress to multiple tables, and doing it all very well! We ordered a chicken sandwich and a salad for our lunch entrees! Both were very good and presented very well! While the food is good and quality feels high - the price is also on the high side. For a sandwich and a salad, waters to drink, we spent over $50 for our lunch! Just something to be aware of! While we had time - the experience was not fast. Something to be aware of if needing a quick lunch. The restaurant was not overly busy but the wait was a little long to receive our order. I ordered a salmon salad - the menu nor the website specify if the salmon is wild caught or farmed. I would really love to know this information - the price would be much better reflected if it were indeed wild caught. :)

The service was on the slower side and could have used more attention to detail--coffee refills were missed, and we didn't have spoons to stir our coffee. That said, our server was kind and had a gentle, pleasant demeanor. The food overall was very good. Only one person in our group was disappointed--the chicken and waffles were described as dry, with the chicken coating lacking flavor. Everyone else enjoyed their meals, and the desserts were a standout; they were excellent and loved by all. One area that could use improvement is the upstairs bathroom. While it was well stocked with supplies, it needed cleaning. Clear signage for the upstairs restroom and perhaps a nice piece of artwork would also be welcome touches. Overall, a nice brunch experience with great desserts and room for a few improvements.

Here's what I felt missed the bar... First, a speakeasy's initial location of "secrecy"... I don't think the top floor of Monaco Bay is that difficult to find. In fact, there is a giant "Gatsby" sign lit up outside. Even if it is modern, perhaps an unmarked door at the entrance could enhance the overall feel. Second, the expectation of innovative cocktails that take you back to an era. The specials were the same as Monaco and the bartender didn't know what the night's special actually was... There's a lot of potential here to boast old custom cocktails from scratch- with a modern twist. Third, the atmosphere. The exposed brick, dark woods, and lavish style add to the tone. Would be really great if there were candles on tables instead of incredibly bright lights drilled into the floor. I did enjoy the unique lights hanging above the bar though. The decor played into vintage modern, but it's lacking some authenticity. Also, the DJ seemed to just play popular culture. Would have loved to hear some swing or jazz remixes instead.

We arrived exactly at 4 PM after seeing this weekly promotion on social media. Upon arrival, the venue was empty, yet we were completely denied access to bowling due to a private event, and told that no bowling customers would be allowed until 6 PM. Before anything else, I want to clarify an important point: "Free" does not mean customers should be treated poorly. Free events are often meant to introduce people to a business, attract new customers, and create a welcoming first impression. Offering something for free does not justify rude behavior, dismissive communication, or shifting responsibility onto customers. Respect and basic courtesy should apply regardless of whether an event is paid or free. What bothered me most was not being turned away, but the blame-shifting that followed. When a business publicly advertises "Free Bowling Wednesdays" and encourages people to show up at 4 PM, it is reasonable for customers to rely on that information. Adding the word "limited" on social media posts does not communicate that no bowling customers are allowed at all until 6 PM due to a private event. Those are two very different messages. Instead of acknowledging the lack of clear communication, the responsibility was shifted onto us as customers with statements like "you should have called." This is unfair. Customers should not be expected to double-check an advertised public event by phone when no such instruction was mentioned. What made the experience more disappointing was the lack of empathy no apology, no ownership of the confusion, and no attempt to acknowledge how frustrating it is to arrive on time to an empty venue and still be denied entry. This review is not about complaining. It's about accountability. Clear communication and basic courtesy go a long way, and this situation could have been handled very differently with a simple acknowledgment and apology.
