This place is very good if there's a sporting event you are wanting to watch... There's TVs everywhere! It has a nice, open feeling with a great view of Victory Field and even Lucas Oil Stadium. Cool! Service was quick and friendly. Their peppered bacon BLT is super delish (especially if you add avocado). Great meal and lots of fun watching the World Cup Finals. read more

Cool place. Good location. Only drank there but the have BASIC american bar food. They had pretty cheap drink specials during the game. They have a lot of TVs every where. Nice atmosphere read more

Seemed like the place to be on a Thursday evening. College football games on all the TV screens. Menu was pretty limited.

This place has the worst service. Had to seat ourselves and no one had no server. Finally ordered food and the waitress was incredibly rude. We were waiting for more than an hour for our food. This place doesn't even deserve 1 star. Would have left but it was the only place open. Good hours...I guess. read more

Great place to eat before a game, just across the street from Victory Field. We didn't indulge too much as we like to get beer and hotdogs at the game. But as a group we shared loaded fries, lettuce wraps, and wings. The food was good and especially worth the price since the apps were half off from 3-6. But even at normal prices it would have been pretty decent, but a little steep for certain ones. The wings were the highlight. While not best in Indianapolis by any stretch, they were big, juicy, and had just that right amount of crunch. I went with the asian honey sauce cause I didn't want anything too spicy before the game, and they hit the spot. We didn't have the nachos but saw the large nacho on another table, and I'm pretty sure that thing could feed a small army. The dining room was clean, the kitchen was reasonably quick (not so slow that we would have missed opening pitch, but not so fast that we would have thought our food wasn't made to order). I imagine I'll be coming back before Indians games from now on. read more

Stopped by for lunch and luckily Madison was waiting our table!!! She was friendly, big smile and very accomodating. Would recommend this casual restaurant for a great meal and game watch! read more

A little disappointed. Out of beer we ordered. Then didn't have the dressing we ordered. Then the salad we ordered came out incorrect. Manager needs to review what's going on. Not acceptable to have three things go wrong in one visit. read more

I was at a work conference attended by about 150 folks. They had a reception at High Velocity at the end of the first day. It's not often that I rave about the food put out on a buffet a group function, but it was delicious! Lots of options and very tasty. The staff, not surprisingly was very busy. But I want to do a huge shout out to the server named John Fraction. Even though it was very busy, he was smiling and so warm and brought me my drink within minutes of ordering. He really was special. If I were to open a restaurant, I'd definitely want him as a server. Thanks again!!! read more

Sesame chicken salad was tasty! Like Chinese food in salad form- perfect!

We stayed at the JW for an extended weekend (Thursday, April 4th-Sunday, April 7th, 2013). We ended up eating at High Velocity EVERY DAY we were in town. The first night we were there, there was a group of twelve of us. Our waitress, Amanda, was awesome. There was another night where a group of us met up a second time and the manager was a little on the rude side, not wanting to seat all of us together. The Loaded Cheese Fries were absolutely awesome! I wish I had some now!! Most of the food was delicious. The only exception was the chili dog. My husband says it was horrible. He ended up sending it back and getting something else. He recommends the Tenderloin Sandwich. We would definitely go back there if we lived in the area and we highly recommend the food. I'm not much of a drinker, but I had a Blue something that was pretty good, the Chipotle Bloody Mary was a little lacking, but the Peach Margarita was really good. read more

I am here for a conference and have eaten here three times by choice. Good food at a good price. Great service. Friendly staff. Very congenial. One of the nicest "in house" places I have ever eaten at. May eat here again before conference is over! Haven't found anything better. Loved the Reuben! Just may have to have another before I leave. So convenient to the hotels and the conference center. Usually convenient and good are not found at the same place. I think they've got it right here! read more

Came into town for a conference being held at the JW. The hostess was very attentative. The service was a little slow; took a while for main dish to come out, but it was extremely busy with the conference being held in the hotel. I had the spinach artichoke dip - it was good but the cheese topping was a little hard, maybe overcooked a tad. The burger was delicious; cooked perfectly to my request and very flavorful. The caesar salad was standard and good. The food took a while to come out but was very good overall. The prices were pretty standard to a sports bar. I really enjoyed that there were plenty of TV's to show the various football games that were showing. Great place to watch a game. I'd come back again. read more

The food was really good but the service was just not there. Are waitress took forever with drinks and disappeared sometimes when needing her read more

The restaurant was less than half full, but they still found it in their interests to sit our party of 3 next to the frigid and drafty door. It was above the pay grade of our table escort to make an audible, plus we were in a hurry to make our next conference, so we stayed. Our waitress was efficient so we were cautiously optimistic that we would be ok with time. Despite the paucity of patrons our food was terribly slow. The waitress did 'comp' us with some chips and salsa. I chose their newly acquired tofu as a protein option on my salad, but the chef had not yet learned about the preparation options, as it looked like it was dumped straight out of the package. One of the 2 drafty doors kept slamming through the course of our wait. Of course I was 20' late for the conference. If anyone had cared to ask about our meal, I would have been glad to share my recommendations for improvement, but, alas, no one cared. read more

Fantastic dry rub wings and the best Spinach Artichoke dip we've had. Complimented with Sun King Fist Full of Hops Red. Great service as always from Eric at the bar! read more

Went to the museum and came across the street to try the High Velocity. Excellent food and large portions for the price which is very reasonable. Our waiter is really efficient and friendly. We will come back here again. This is a great place to hook up with some friends and dine. read more

Go to alot of Indians games, and up to 2 years ago went there like 30 games a year. They had good constant help and game day specials. Then help started turning over, the menu changed. The help never new what the game day specials were? u became a stranger in there! Went down hill so bad, and became a job to eat there, and the menu was terrible for the money. And the bartenders with the money u spent would give u a coke, and started charging and nickle and diming u. So in the last 1 1/2 never went back. Was a good thing and close, to nothing and no more business!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

Traveling on my own this week. Just had a good dinner with extraordinary service. My server John is simply the BEST! Kind, thoughtful, and great recommendations on food and drinks. He made my night. Had to rate my experience a 5 thanks to John! read more

I separated this review from the JW Marriott even though it is located inside. The other reason I separated it was I did not want this the draw down the five stars I gave the stay I had there. This place could very quickly drop to 1 star. The very good: the staff and the drink selection. The good: comfort and large number of TVs. (It is a sports bar/grill arrangement). The bad: the food. I tried three times. Not happy with anything served. The cheesesteak; dry and no sauce selection to juice it up and it was way over cooked. It was a complete failure. Next time I tried the sliders. Same thing dry and way over cooked. Good news it you like catsup you could hide the dried out baby burger, even doing that the meat did not have enough flavor to overcome the catsup taste. (Strike two). Third try was the "hand cut thick potato chips" they were cold and too greasy to be cold. You must have heat lamps, otherwise you couldn't dry out the other meals I tried. Strike three you are out. If they don't update this very weak menu and then start cooking it right, all you need to get a one start is someone in your wait staff having a bad day. Management needs to remember that great drink selection can be found almost everywhere. read more

This restaurant and sports bar was disappointing. Although they had a wide variety of foods, the service was terrible. It took them an hour to give us two kids steaks, two chicken tenders, and a bowl of chili. The steak had a sweet aftertaste and was soggy, it wasn't a good piece of meat. The chicken tenders were very good but slightly undercooked. And the chili was very bad, my dad couldn't even finish it. The wait staff didn't really seem to care that we were waiting and were discombobulated. Someone even stomped out of the restaurant, saying that the service was very bad. Overall I do not recommend this sports bar. It was a D in school grades. read more

After 5 years of traveling to Indy 3-4 times a month there are several reasons I stay at the jw. But high velocity sports bar is 1 of them. The staff Eric and Nate are friendly and attentive. Feels like I am watching a game with friends. Food is great and bar is set up to watch any game any time. Never disappoints. read more

So much more than bar food. Very friendly staff as well. I ordered Loaded Fries and the food was fresh and delicious. A coworker ordered the chicken tenders and they were the best tenders I've ever tasted. Also, be sure to see Courtney at the bar. Great service and good conversation! Definitely recommend if you're close or at the convention center. Can't beat this place. read more

Their service was not good at the beginning. We placed an order and after about 30 min were still sitting there. They realized they made a mistake due to being short staffed, sent another waitress over and covered the whole bill for us. We'd definitely give them a second shot read more

Food was excellent, the waitstaff and bartenders were very friendly, and the drinks were as they should be. The only negatives I have are the drinks can be very pricey, and if you run your card as a tab some of the bartenders enforce the rule about putting a 50.00 hold on your card before charging the final amount. That didn't leave me high and dry but I wasn't warned and was understandably confused when I saw a 50.00 pending charge the next day for a 18.00 tab. read more

I ate here alone twice during a business trip. The first time was a weeknight before a AA baseball game (directly across the street). The server was not good. It took close to 15 minutes for her to take my order, and the nachos were just okay. Nothing amazing but nothing horrible. The bad part was when I was finished. Nearly 20 minutes after I had finished eating I still hadn't event laid eyes on my server, much less had the check delivered. The manager even came over to ask about the food and I said I was just waiting for the check, but it didn't expedite the process. That's a really unpleasant way to end a meal. The next day I ate here again because I was attending a conference in the hotel. I had their club sandwich. Service was much better and the food was very good. I Overall, it's really reasonably priced for a hotel restaurant and if I come back for business I'll eat here again. read more

Food was good but service was slow. Had a 15 minute wait for lunch but plenty of open tables available . Tried to get a spot at the bar as it had open seats but nothing was cleaned off. Probably would try something different in the future. read more

We came here for lunch at 1:30, went to the bar, tenders pre-occupied, no positions at the bar had been cleaned from previous guests, they missed out on their tip today. Got a table for two, great burger, $4 for a club soda, $8 for chips & salsa, hey we get that for free in Jersey, then while we were eating they had to sweep the floor around our table. read more

Had appetizers and beer. Great beer specials on Thursday evening. Perfect place to visit before an Indians game.

Courtney and the crew at High Velocity offer great recommendations and service. They kept the drinks coming and made my stay at the JW Marriott delightful! Visit them. You won't be disappointed. read more

Went to Indy on business and went to High Velocity twice and was amazed by the food the first night. Great burgers and sweet potato fries! Went back again the next night and it wasn't the food that was the highlight, it was our server! His name was Jeremiah and he was the coolest, most down-to-earth and positive person I have ever encountered as a server. Made our entire night! I was there with my team and having great service made our night unforgettable. Hoping to go back soon just to see Jeremiah and eat some great food! I highly recommend this place and make sure to ask for Jeremiah! read more

We had a group of 12 with reservations. Table wasn't ready and took 30 minutes to get sat, but they offered to buy our appetizers to compensate. Service was extremely slow and server seemed completely lost. The tip was added (18%) due to the large group. Food was mediocre at best. We ordered fish tacos, nachos, mediteranean salad, and chicken wraps. You are better off ordering these at large chain like Applebee's or Fridays. On the plus side, it was decently decorated and conveniently located. read more

Best bar in Indianapolis. Best bar staff - Courtney, Nikki, Natan. Come say hi. Have a beer and amazing wings.

This is the best sports bar in Indy (and the best hotel)!!! The atmosphere is friendly, the service is spectacular and the food is second-to-none. Nate, Eric and Brandon really know how to treat their customers. Every time I'm in town, I'm greeted with a nice glass of scotch and my favorite pasta dish. read more

Love their chicken wings and tenders! Great place to spend ur sunday while watching football games.

Dropped the notification to seat us. 15 minutes turned into 40. Sat us, immediately took order. 2 appetizers took over 45 minutes. Bathrooms are disgusting. Place is loud. Go somewhere else. read more

The bartenders here have poor customer service skills. Stopped in here this last Friday night 6/15 for a quick drink. Did not have my ID on me as I was NOT ID'd upon entering the restaurant. Ordered a drink and the bartender (heavy set woman-short hair) was extremely rude and told me I couldn't even be in the bar to begin with. The condescending tone was unnecessary. I had no problem going back to get my ID (Which I did) but the manner in which she did this was very uncalled for. Wouldn't ever come back here based on that experience alone. read more

I will say that our waitress Lexus was AWESOME!! The entire management staff and hostess staff was a complete HANDS DOWN! The service with the other non-tipped staff was terrible. We had seven ppl in our party, and they said they had to switch us to two tables. As we were being seated, there was a table that could fit all of us right next to the two separate tables we were being seated in. We asked if we could take that one table so we could all be together, and we were told no since they did not have the wait staff to wait on that one table (but seemed to have the wait staff to wait on two tables!). So we sat in the separate tables when one waitress (Lexus) came and told us she could accommodate us in the one large table, despite the hostess' objections. Score for Lexus! Then we had ordered our last drink and closed tab when they approached one of our guests who had shoes removed due to walking all day with competitions...and hotel patron upstairs. They told her she would be required to pay for her drink and leave the area...would not be served the drink she paid for due to having no shoes. Really? Two hours in that place and the manager just now made such a ruckus when we said we were five minutes away from leaving. They were not even nice about it to assist the guest...claimed they would remove the guest using security. I will tell you that it's a hotel restaurant. Nothing fancy. People were in their restaurant the night before in pajamas, yet they decided to remove a well-dressed professional woman who needed a break from her heels while staying in her hotel. I found this place ridiculous in their guest accommodations. But, it's the one restaurant in this place so not like my review will make much of a difference. But, found it necessary to document. Enjoy. read more

I had a great experience at High Velocity earlier this summer. I expected higher than normal prices due to the prime location in the JW, across the street from the convention center and Victory Field. I was pleasantly surprised to find pretty reasonable prices! And the quality was excellent - I thoroughly enjoyed my Southwest Chicken sandwich and fries ($13) and Indiana Cooler cocktail ($9). I enjoyed good service and an upscale atmosphere, considering it's a sports bar. read more

Solid sports bar with individually tuned TVs at every table, a good food menu, and fair prices for booze. Service was a tad slow at first but picked up. I don't think I'd come if I were a local, but it's perfect if you're on travel, staying nearby, and want somewhere to watch the game. read more
