The service is super friendly and very helpful and polite. Two guys opened the door for me as I had a package in my hands. The cashier was wonderful about making certain that he got my order right and let me know how long it would be. I came back and he met me at the door with a bag with my food. They were busy with takeout orders, so I appreciated the service and kindness. The burrito was good, but not great. The guacamole was nice, but pricey for the size. It's difficult to compete with a couple of independent Mexican restaurants in the area and I will probably wait a while before I go back to HTB. But, if you are at Red Hill running errands and need a quick meal, this is a very nice place for great service. read more

We've enjoyed burritos from High Tech for years. Often we get great-tasting burritos. But often they're inconsistent, with food coming out of the burrito wrapping, being overly spicy or under spicy, even though we requested mild or spicy sauces. Sometimes the burrito is brimming with meat, and sometimes it's hard to find. Sometimes they have a special (we might get a promotional email describing a free dessert) only to arrive and the staff there knows nothing about it and we leave without the dessert. I figure this inconsistency is due to undertrained staff... you might get lucky and get a great one, or. you might not. Luck of the draw. On the plus side, their service is always fast, and food is always ready for takeout at the indicated time. So my actual rating over the dozens of times we've visited really ranges from 1-5 stars, and I'm averaging it to be 3. I do hope the management reads this and improves both communication with their staff (especially when running a promotion) and improves training so we can get the burrito we expected. read more

Hadn't been to Hi Tech in years and was so happy to learn that they still make my old favorite-- creole shrimp burrito. It's off the menu, but still available if you ask. I recommend subbing refried beans for the whole black beans. Delicious. And great friendly staff and service. read more

Considering that when placing an order online High Tech Burrito gives you soo many options for how to order your burrito. Beans drained, burrito cut in half and wrapped separately, crispy tortilla, the list goes on and on. Yet, when the food actually arrives none of that actually happens. If you aren't going to actually read the food notes why bother keeping them in your menu. And don't get me started on the trying to order drinks from this place..... read more

I grew up coming here and it's a very mediocre but trusty chain in Marin. You come here knowing what to expect. You kind of always get a burrito that's just okay and super runny. With all the incredible Mexican restaurants in Marin I would skip this one, especially if you are vegan or vegetarian because you won't be able to get an actual meal here. What I do like is you can really customize your burrito with different types of beans, different types of tortillas, and salsa. I became a vegan and so I called to see if I'm able to eat the rice and beans and unfortunately, I'm not able to eat either. It comes as a surprise because I would equate the food to chipotle so I was shocked they use lard and chicken stock but they use both so if you're vegetarian or vegan, you're not going to be able to get a complete protein here (rice and beans). I've never had an issue with service here, everyone is nice and helpful. When I called, they were super helpful on the phone and trying to help me understand what I could eat and understanding when I told them I buy a burrito that I couldn't have rice or beans in. The ambience is nothing crazy, but this is an order at the counter eat at the booth kind of place. They keep it clean, which is all I can ask for. read more

I've been going to High Tech Burrito forever (since the Miracle Mile days) and I am quite frankly obsessed. The carnitas burrito is off the chain and on the rare occasions I wander off my usual, I feel the same about the other burritos. If I am trying to stay off meat the California is perfect, and vegan for a real guilt free bite. Fish tacos are also an excellent choice as are the birria ones. The staff is always so sweet. A couple months ago my dad dropped his phone out front of the restaurant and the staff went above and beyond to find him by calling the last number on the phone and it got back to him. They were awesome. They always have a smile on their face and my food is always hot and ready when I pick it up. I hope more people rate this location because the star rating here is not at all reflective of the food and people. The loyalty program is also great. I got $10 off my order last night. This is a strong offer compared to a lot of other places around here. Great job High Tech! read more

My door Dasher was great. Delivery and pick up was great. Soo. Ordered for the first time here. Bean and cheese burrito. Steak quesadilla Two street tacos. About 30 percent more than. A normal taqueria. They seemed to be going for that Chipotle feel and the ingredients definitely tasted fresh. So why the lack of 2 stars Bean and cheese burrito was stuffed with rice. There was a bcr burrito. I didn't order that and for almost 8 bucks... Wow. Steak quesadilla was tasty. The neat was good but not plenty and the tortilla was a little dry. Street tacos were fresh and tasted ok. All lacked ethentic love Just ok. Not bad. Maybe I'll try to eat in person.. with so much good Mexican food in Sr.... It's hard to rec this place read more

Sadly it was closed today by the County of Marin Environmental Health Services after a routine inspection found a rodent/vermin infestation per the red sign on the door. Um...yuck. Horrible. Got three burritos and they were all soooo dry. No cheese in any of them. A very very tiny bit in the one I paid to get cheese in. Also I requested in my order half the amount of rice in all three burritos and they were all stuffed with rice. I can't believe how dry and untasty these were. I was going to call the restaurant and give them constructive feedback, but seeing how many others gave them bad reviews, not sure that would help. The ones in Terra Linda and Novato were so good growing up, but obviously this place isn't what I grew up with. Hopefully management will see reviews and improve. So my husband loves this place, when he lived in SF he would drive here for the burritos. It's been at least 10 years since we have come back since we now live in Amador county. Our last day of vacation we decided to stop here so he could get the chicken burrito, his fave! Out experience was not so great, when we walked in they didn't greet us, then the cashier got a phone call and was on the phone for 5 minutes or more. He was talking low and never took an order! Obviously it was a personal phone call. So we waited then I looked at my husband and said "wow what do you want to do?" He said we could just go, I said we came all the way here to get his favorite burrito and then we don't!!! Finally he gets off the phone and he did say sorry but it was like a sorry I couldn't really careless about you what do you want?! So we order our food, and leave. Food was okay. More than likely we won't go back to that location. If you have personal problems leave them at home, your customers are the reason you are open! Worst customer service ever! read more

Really wish I had listened to all Of the 1 star reviews - I was so desperate for an easy dinner fix. And they were so close to all my other shopping destinations, and living in the bay area - it has been SO long since I have had a bad burrito that I was like HOW BAD could it be? Well last night I found out. Overpriced, and by that I mean $14 side of guacamole and salsa and chips- outrageous! And then there was the plain regular burrito with three basic ingredients- mealy beans, mealy swollen rice, and terrible old salsa passing for salsa fresca on no planet in this solar system. I made a phone order- specifically ordering grilled chicken in the super burrito- and they gave stewed chicken- which sorely disappointed my mother- the person treating for the meal, thereby making me feel even works- thanks for nothing High Tech! Burrito only had a dab of guacamole and it was only on the end and no sour cream, cheese or salsa. Missing ingredients and very poor distribution. Will not be ordering from them again. The location in downtown San Rafael is great! 10/10 on service when dining in! The food was so bomb made me want seconds. This review is only for the takeout. The burritos here are delicious and I appreciate that they allow a wide-range of modifications when ordering. Some people don't want rice (I'm one) so they allow you to remove and substitute it along with a huge variety of modifications on the other ingredients when you place a remote order. That being said, these burritos lack "soul," meaning they're a little under-sauced and also a little under-spiced. I know many people can't handle heat in their food, but it's always somewhat disconcerting to order something advertised as "spicy" and find it barely warms the tongue. But that's a minor quibble compared to the fact the ingredients are high-quality and delivery is extremely quick. read more

A quick shout out for a large, catered meal for a high school football team. We ordered the taco/burrito buffet, including chicken, steak, black beans, rice, flour and corn tortillas, and all the fixins (salsa, guac, sour cream, etc.). The food was good and enjoyed by everyone. The standout was the service. The order was ready on time. Everything we asked for was included (plates, utensils, serving spoons, napkins, etc.) The employees assisting us were pleasant and helpful. Last week I visited S.A. location early afternoon and ordered 3 burritos one with salsas on the side . As I was paying for my order I asked about the burrito club and how I could join the young man said ,"You'll have to join next time you come in to order" . I replied ," Why can't I join now?" Because you already paid was the response. When I asked why don't you ask people when they order are you a member or do they want to join the burrito club? The young man replied "I don't have to do that " I replied ,"You can get more repeat customers if you offered info about the club. I don't have to we don't need customers! I told him with an attitude like that I definitely will not be returning, his reply ",I don't care"! WOW!!! I have been in the food and beverage industry for over 45yrs. if he were my employee I would have fired him on the spot ! His rude sarcasm and customer service was appalling . This High Tech Burrito is always a reliable spot for a filling/fulfilling meal for under $10 (and there ain't many of those places left anymore). While I normally frequent their Mill Valley location, I sometimes pop my head in here when I'm in the San Anselmo area for a quick lunch-to-go. In the past, I would always stick with their steak or chicken burritos and add some extra hot salsa, sour cream, and lettuce. But lately, I've been experimenting with their more seasonal/gourmet burritos. I'm particularly fond of their Tikka Masala burrito (tender chicken cubes, spicy tikka masala sauce, brown rice, cilantro, pickled red onions, and cilantro-mint chutney). While it's not authentic Indian food, it sure packs quite a flavorful punch. Although i wish the tikka masala sauce was a bit spicier. If my appetite isn't too huge, I normally opt for their Blackened Fish Taco (Blackened wahoo, coleslaw, chipotle dressing, pico de gallo, with lime). It's only $4 per taco. And one taco usually fills me up without putting me in a food coma. Service is usually quite quick and friendly here. I've never had to wait longer than 10 minutes for my meal. If you're not in too much of a hurry, there is seating available at this location. But personally, I prefer to take my food home (translation: I wind up eating most of it in the car). read more
