Gabriel's is without a doubt one of the most honest and professional auto repair shops that I've ever encountered. My daughter was on a cross country trip from Maine to California and her car broke down just outside of LA. Based on a recommendation from a friend living outside of LA she took her Subaru to Gabriel's. Now a young woman, traveling alone, 3,000 miles from home could be a sitting duck when it comes to "the car won't run" stuff. But not with Gabriel! Her clutch was toast and that was it. High Tech Auto Repair are great and honest. They have been taking care of my car for 3 years. Recently dash light came on and I rushed over to Gabriel to check if the car was safe to drive. He found the coolant low and added some coolant at no charge. When it was low again a few days later, he diagnosed the problem as the water pump (still under manufacturers warranty). This place will Rip you off. Charged $75 for diagnosis. Wrong diagnosis. Charged $550 Made the wrong repairs (cat and air intake) and said it passed smog. Smog failed. (By the way one of the techs Sons works at the local smog place called 5 points) He Kept for a week and a half more to "diagnose" Claimed, his dyno broke, called to make another diagnoses of bad injector (car drove fine before ever bringing to shop just brought it for smog repairs) Charged another $250 for injector after being told he wouldn't charge me anymore everytime I called to check on car. He had the car smogged himself. I'm out over 1k after the smog and recharges high tech. Gabriel the owner is too smart for it to be a mistake. Steer far away from this place! read more

I have been taking my car to High Tech for 2 years now and I could not be happier with my service. I have used them for routine maintenance of my car as well as after my car was in an accident and another mechanic did faulty repairs. Gabriel not only fixed the problems but he took pictures and took the time to explain to me what was wrong with the prior work. My car has run 100% better after he fixed it. I love that I can make same day appointments depending on what the issue is, and I can always call and check to get an estimated time to pick up my vehicle. I wished I would of read the yelp reviews before my husband and I took in our van. I had the same experience as the people who got ripped off by the owner. He quoted us $75 for an electrical diagnostics ok sounds good. We leave him the van and a couple of hours later surprise, surprise he changes the price to $225, yes $225! I asked why there was a spike in the price, he said he could not find the issue and needed more time. Mind you the $225 was just for the diagnosis, no labor or parts, he also mentioned he was not sure he could find the issue. We declined to pay more since per the conversation I figured out he just wanted to squeeze more money out of us. When we went to pay, he had us signed an invoice which in part read "I (mechanic)had requested to keep the van longer and the client (me and my husband declined)", obviously there was no mention of him asking for $225. We just just wanted to get out of there so we paid and signed his invoice. Once we got in the van I notice he left grease stains on the sun visor. So basically my husband and I paid $75 to lose half a day and get some grease stains on the sun visor. Stay away from this shop. read more

I needed a SMOG check for my vehicle and I drove around looking for shops and I came across this place. At first I thought this was a good shop, but my experience here changed that. I have a CARB legal intake installed in my car and the guy running the shop argued that my intake was illegal in California and went as far as accusing me of getting a fake sticker. "You can get that sticker anywhere" were his words. As I explained to him that I spent a lot of time and money to get a LEGAL intake. he ignored me and I called him out on it. He kicked me out of the shop and also broke the hood latch on the inside of my car. Also California is 1 out of 50 states in the US. There are 50 states not 51 as this shop owner said. So 50 state legal means 50 state legal. Someone who doesn't even know there are 50 states shouldn't even be working on cars in the first place. Even if it does mean something else he is still a incompetent SMOG technician if he doesn't even know that CARB stands for CALIFORNIA Air Resources Board. I do not recommend this place and the owner did me a favor when he banned me. The car passed without any problems at another shop the same day so now I only have to worry about fixing my hood latch. I now just read the other reviews and now I think the shop owner wanted to rip me off on repairs as well. read more

do not trust grabiel(owner) he charged me $150.00 for a check engine diagnosis. first said he would charge $75.00 but after the problem was found he called me and said fuel injectors were bad and wanted $2,000 for the job so i guess he got mad for not giving him the job so thats why he charge me $150.00!!!!!!!!. i ended fixing the problem my self it was a bad air fuel sensor on my tundra..not recommended to anyone read more
