This was the second time on Friday I visited here since June for a blow dry/flat iron to straight hair. Last time in June, I worked with Shane and on Friday, I worked with Arelys! Both are very friendly and a joy to talk to, however I have extremely curly hair and you'd think professional hair stylists know what to do to ensure the hair is straightened properly so it at least would last till the next few days as I was getting my hair styled for an important event both times. But nope! Once I left after seeing Shane, my hair started curling again and by the next day, it was a frizzy mess... thankfully Shane was able to fix my hair properly and this time it actually lasted a few days like it should have. On Friday, I told Arelys about this and asked her to please flat iron well so my hair doesn't curl back up right away. That same night into the next morning it was messed up in so many places and I was told no one could fix it the next day. Neither of them know how to blow dry and straighten curly hair properly the first time or there is lack of effort...so unfortunately I don't think I will return anymore. read more

My hair came out quite as I expected and Shane is quite nice and experienced. Downside parking is whatever is left on the street and prices are a bit more than I expected for this small salon that is off the beaten path. I want to first state that this "one star review" has no reflection on my actual hairdresser. This is because this salon has taken a huge downhill spiral. The owner, Joe, is bad at business and doesn't stand by the guarantee the salon has in place for things like this. On one to two other occasions, I've had a huge issue with the "top quality" color that's used not holding in my hair. It's definitely cheaper and was switched from RedKin to Paul Mitchell. I've had to invest more time going back to get it fixed because the salon took the cheap way out and in addition, I've had to use other products (again, more money spent). For all I know, they charge the same for crappier products being used in clients' hair... This last time was the last straw. I was there for hours. My hair wasn't even washed before it started changing from the light silver/grey to a dark brown that had some weird tint to it. Due to my busy work schedule, I couldn't get back to the salon. I called on the 7th day of this supposed guarantee they have. I explained everything to him and he stated that not only does my stylist not work there anymore, but he also blamed it on her, even though she was incredible and I heard so many great things about her through the power of social media. Joe told me he would not be refunding me my $205 because he already paid the stylist and would be willing to have someone else to do my hair. Why would I do that? For the same results or worse?? No thanks. Again, let us all be reminded of the 7-day guarantee that he doesn't stand behind. I explained that I have an extremely busy schedule for work and wouldn't be able to do that. He then told me that either I come in to get my hair redone or he would refund me $100, both of which would require me to GO BACK. I wouldn't trust anyone here. Sneaky and the lack of loyalty to their clients is unfathomable. If my stylist were there, I'd consider going back, and now it looks like I'll be finding a new one after I hit submit on this review. read more

I found this deal on Groupon so i figured it's worth a try! I was scared at first because Mila said my hair wasnt taking color and I gave her a hard job. However the final result was gorgeous!! I had a hair cut, ombre-ish highlights, and deep condition. Mila was a sweetheart and listened to the exact color I wanted the ombre to be (not blonde or brassy). The owner Joe was also super nice. I even got a piece of cake while they cut my hair hahaha (It was Mila's birthday). Update: I washed my hair and the color turned super brassy & my hair is dry (I use all the good color conditioners & never had this problem) The owner is sweet and said he could put toner in it but at this point my hair is pretty dry from the bleach. I'm just going to leave it and redye it in a month or so. Ugh. My hair is so &^$^ dry it's breaking! I was blonde for YEARS and my hair has never been this dry or damaged. I can't believe it. I made (2) appointments, one for me and one for my daughter, days before the Saturday I requested...arrived 10 minutes before my appointment time only to be advised that my stylist was stuck in traffic (?) but on her way. 45 minutes later and I was still waiting. Several other customers walked in after me and was serviced right away. Not one other time did anyone come to me to either let me know how much longer I needed to wait or even place me with anyone else. My sister and I both got the keratin treatment done for the first time by Nadine. She was extremely knowledgable and walked us through step by step on how the treatment works, how much it will be and products we should use to maintain it. She honored the groupon price but price did vary for the two of us based on our hair length and thickness. If you come in with your hair already washed /dried without putting product in - she can go straight into the keratin treatment which will save you time! If you've never tried the treatment and are thinking about it, you should definitely give Nadine a call - even if you are just looking for more insight! We asked her a ton of questions beforehand and she was very conservative with how much she cut our hair so we can keep it long which is what we wanted. The salon itself is a bit small with no parking so you will have to park across the street or on neighborhood side streets. We went on a Saturday afternoon and there were a few employee's children that spent the day so it did get a bit loud. Overall good experience and coffee/water available for guests. read more

I was nervous to get my haircut during covid times, but after checking with Shane I was assured precautions were being taken and it was completely true. As someone else mentioned, your temp is taken at the door, everyone was wearing masks the whole time (it was just George, Shane, myself and one other person) and social distancing of 6 feet at least was maintained. I just got my hair done here on Saturday.. and WOW im blown away. I've went to many places to get my hair done, even places that looked expensive and all high class. In this place, you get a family vibe. Its not the most glamorous studio, but they do a REALLY GOOD job, and I feel like that all that is important. You can go to nice looking studios and have the most terrible hair cuts, but this place will draw you in to come back ! I saw this place off a groupon deal. Haircut and blow out for $37, i ended up paying 10 dollars extra which I really did not mind, considering it was labeled on the coupon , and that my hair was REALLY long. I still see that as a steal. I forgot the name of the lady that cut my hair, but she was awesome. She was great to talk to as well. She cut my hair a lot shorter than I expected it to be, but man did I end up actually really loving it. She put layers on, and made my hair look SO full. The blow out she did was amazing too, and all this, it really only took about an hour. She also has other customers waiting for her, so I was a bit skeptical if she was in a rush. The bad reviews given to this place has to be from previous owner because I was very impressed with my experience here! First off, they do have Covid-19 safety precautions. They took my temperature as soon as I stepped through the door and everyone was wearing their mask properly (which made me more comfortable and relaxed in today's climate). Shane cut my hair and she was great from start to finish. She was very friendly and genuine and gave me exactly what I wanted. I was super scared because I had been growing out my hair for a year and keeping my length was important to me. She understood and cut off just the right amount so that my hair was healthier and I was able to keep my length. The haircut itself was great too. It was even and the layers blended together perfectly. All in all I was pleasantly surprised. Doing anything to your hair is very nerve wrecking especially somewhere new, but Shane made this experience much easier and very pleasant. This is a great place! Everyone is friendly and welcoming. I bought a groupon for a haircut and partial highlights. Joy did my hair and she was friendly and nice. She really listened to what I wanted, and it came out great. Love my haircut! I highly recommend this place! The decor is simple, but the place is very clean which is what matters the most!
