This is a great outdoor space in the GTA. Great experiences gor familues with young a children with the zoo, splashpads, pool, courts and playgrounds. Cherry blossom season is VERY popukar so plan accorginhly, take transit and take a ride on the trackless train ( $6 for kids and seniors, $9 for adults)

High Park is a little bit of a journey to get to from downtown, especially if you don't have a car, but it's well worth the journey. The grounds are gorgeous, there are great hiking trails, and you can even get some gorgeous views of the sunset while you're there. Highly recommend.

If you are a dog this is the place to be. There are different aspects to this park but if you're a canine you can't go wrong. This place is HUGE. There are many trails you can go on with your animal friend. There seems to be many gated and non-gated areas where I saw dogs off leash. This place is so large or I'm just geographically challenged that when I wanted to exit the park I took a trail or two that led me in a circle to my original starting point. Not good.

We went for the small zoo and the kid's playground. My little one just loved the playground, didn't want to go. Then we went to the zoo, because it would close at 4pm as the website says. The zoo is small, but still have a few different kinds of animals that staying outdoor, enjoying the sun, I guess they are all winter animals. High park is big, and we heard that cherry blossom would be in middle of April this year. We probably will come again.

I think High Park is one of the best public parks in Toronto. It is a huge 339 acres - I admit I've gotten lost before but I'm also directionally challenged haha. I have many fond memories of High Park growing up. It wasn't too far from where I lived in my childhood so I've enjoyed many summer days, picnics, and birthday parties at the playgrounds. Even now the castle playground feels like a sight to behold and the free mini zoo is always a treat to visit. The zoo is a great way to pass time and has a pretty good selection of animals to visit from bison, deer, llamas, peacocks, and more. It's amazing that it's still free admission in this day and age. Of course, there's always the seasonal April/May cherry blossom bloom. A wonderful, but very crowded time to visit. If you can make it out early in the day then the sights are truly wondrous. Definitely come by High Park if you haven't been. I feel like High Park is a must visit as a Torontonian!

It's Sakura season! The park is closed to cars right now. They are only allowing TTC HandiTrans, service vehicles and bikes right now. I recommend parking near Parkside and High Park in order to see as much as possible but also to avoid a long uphill walk back to your car if you take one. The park is free! It's gorgeous. Great place for mobile dogs. I would avoid bringing bracycephalic breeds unless you have a stroller for them that you can push over hilly sometimes muddy paths.

Absolutely stunning park in the heart of Toronto with an abundance of nature and an excuse for escapism from the busy buzz of city life into calming bliss. Going here in the fall time is particularly recommended, with the colourful trees and cosy vibes. Plenty of spaces to have a picnic (coupled with a nice hot drink seeing as cafes aren't too far) or just to spend an hour or two getting lost in. There are washrooms on site as well, and also bikes to rent if you want to explore the park at a faster pace! Loved it!

High Park during the autumn season is a must-see, especially if you're looking to capture that vibrant Fall picture of you, your significant other, friend or family. I visited on 16 October and the park was simply beautiful. The park was filled with not only orange and pink trees, but with families who were simply enjoying their Sunday.

High Park is a large park in Toronto. There are hiking trails, playgrounds, restaurants, a small zoo, and more -- much more. When my husband and I visited High Park, we unfortunately didn't have much time to explore the park (and it was too hot to walk around for long), so I can't give a proper review. However, from what I have read and what little I did see, High Park deserves at least four stars. Visiting from Vancouver, it was nice to walk around a park and not be run over by cyclists or attacked by coyotes*. If I have the opportunity to visit Toronto again, I hope I will have more time to walk around High Park. *Coyotes attacking people in Stanley Park has been a major news story for the past several months. First time at highpark. The cherry blossoms were at the early blooming stages but that didnt stop the crowd. The park as fairly packed. Apart from the blossoms I absolutely loved the city views across the lake. This was my favorite

Its a beautiful place for your normal daily picnic or family time. The view of the pond besides is mesmerizing. Interacting with nature at its best. Got to see some new species of flowers and birds. The park connects with sunny side beach within a walking distance. And close to subway up north and streetcar and bus service down south.

Visited this during the early Fall season, and it was my first time! It's an amazing place filled with beautiful animals, most of which I haven't seen before. They have a "dogs off leash" section and me being a dog lover, I felt I was I heaven when dogs walked pass by and said hello. 99% of dogs who were off leash were well behaved. The park is very spacious. Lots of parking spaces (fee is required). Washrooms within distances. There are some places to eat but were closed when I was there. Oh! Before I forget. They have a transportation that looks like a train but driven on the road. They take you around the park for a small fee. I believe about 10 people can go into this. I definitely can't wait till next year to visit this place again.

A couple weeks ago it was a crisp sunny day and I wanted to get outside for a walk. I headed to High Park this afternoon ... I lived near the park from 1996 to 2001 and had spent a lot of time walking through it. I don't get there as often as I'd like. I had a lovely 6.5km walk ... the leaves on the trees were changing and were gorgeous to see. I took the Queen streetcar and got off at Colborne Lodge Drive and headed north along Grenadier Pond.

Park with lots of things to do.

At the other end you'll find a rock "outcropping" (a 650 ton rock, coaxed out of the Canadian Shield and reassembled in the park) The park draws many visitors, tourists and is a great place for celebrity sightings during the Toronto Film Fest. The trees line a picturesque stretch of the park, and when they're in full bloom, it feels like the city collectively remembers to stop and breathe for a second. Pink petals, sunshine (if you're lucky), and everyone suddenly becoming a photographer. Of course, you're sharing the moment with about half of Toronto. Between the throngs of selfie-takers, dogs in sweaters, and folks sprawled out pretending it's warmer than it is, there's plenty of entertainment even if the blooms are a bit past their prime. My advice? Don't expect Kyoto-level serenity. But do expect a lively, local take on hanami--Toronto-style. Grab a coffee, people-watch, and enjoy the fleeting beauty before the blossoms (and your patience) are gone for another year.

I have no idea if this is true for I was naive enough to take the word of my bud, but as I looked around, not a single kid in sight. I'm told they have drum circles here where they put pyramids on their head and play light language... sounds right up my alley, minus any intoxicants in that type of thing. Anyhow, buggest skeeter I ever saw, made me keep moving until I found myself elsewhere in DT.

Visiting a cemetery is not something I do for fun pre-COVID, but I'm glad I went there for a walk for once. Many tombstones from ages ago are wearing away, and I'm wondering whether their descendants still visit them. You can walk along a path with flat-to-the-ground headstones flanking either side into an area shaded by trees. I also saw Jack Layton's monument, with a headstone sculpture of his face. I see people have left some flowers recently. Super cool as I did not know his gravesite is there! Riverdale Farm was closed when I was there, but I could still peek at the farm animals outside the gate. I was there just after they announced on the news that someone stole Juniper, the baby goat! I believe I saw mama and the siblings there? The gates are not high... so I can see how a rascal can jump the fence and take a goat. Like who does that?! Cemetery and a park walk are not the first things that come to mind, but it reminds me that when I open my mind to unique experiences, I'm most of the time pleasantly rewarded.
