Best alternative place to see Cherry Blossom in Toronto 1) Much less crowned than High Park. 2) Many parking spaces are available, especially during weekdays. 3) There are not as many Cherry Blossom trees as High Park, but there are still plenty of them. Just make sure you skip the perk hours and enjoy.

It's sakura season! If you're looking for a place to see cherry blossom trees, don't miss out on Centennial Park. There are so many cherry blossom trees near the roadway and fewer people, making it a perfect spot to take some beautiful photos. They also provide free parking so you can park your car and enjoy the cherry blossoms for as long as you like.

    Field 5 - picnic area

My workplace held a picnic at Centennial Park last Wednesday. This park is the second-closest one by our workplace. It is also massive! My workplace holds a number activities here, from go-kart racing to health activities. It's funny, but I have never been around for them until this picnic happened. This park takes roughly twenty minutes to walk over there from work. It was a hot 28°C. I drove my intern over instead. There was plenty of parking, which was free. It had rained overnight, so there were puddles in the parking area. We walked past the batting cages to get to field 5. I didn't see a map that indicated which field was what. I followed strategically placed balloons that organizers had placed and got to the picnic area in one piece. We were under a roof with benches. We helped ourselves to croissant sandwiches, pizza, fruit, drinks, and more. We needed a field to play soccer. I didn't play, as I had sandals on and no one wants to see me sweat up a storm without a change of clothes. This park has garbage receptacles. There was also public washrooms close by. I need to come back here to check out the conservatory one of these days. I enjoyed taking a break from work for nearly two hours with colleagues. (378)

I never been to Centennial Park until now. The Park is HUGE. Apparently there are 463 cherry trees planted in the park located in northeast of the Park Conservatory as well as along Rathburn Road and Centennial Park Boulevard. We came on a windy, rainy weekdays. The winds were blowing all these pretty sakura on the roadway. The trees are small but I could imagine how pretty they will be in the future! I will be back to explore the Park a little more when I am in the area.

Learners area is $12 all day and parents tow their children with rope and PVC. No lift. Like a tobagonning hill with stakes obstacles.

Review is for the seasonal ski operation. So I'm an intermediate -expert skier, trying to learn snowboarding. I gave this location a try because when you're a beginner it doesnt matter where you go, you just need to learn the basics. How to stop, how to go, how to turn, how to avoid people obstacles. So today is -12, feels like -18 with the wind chill and snow machine is running. We had a bad melt the past week so today one hill is operating. I came here because I saw the city of Toronto website say that it cost $12 for the Learning Area pass. So I went up to the window and I said I wanted that. The girl looked at me funny, because I'm not a toddler, I'm an adult. And she was very nice to say theres no lift there. I said oh, where is it. It's my first time snowboard. She started describing to me....and then I saw what was a tobagonning hill with stakes plastic poles. I see... I moved to book the adult rate that was 19.50$ for one hour. They are nice to give you an extra 15min to get yourself set up. I think this location is great if your a parent who wants a convenient place to dump the kids, it's pretty safe. I did notice the operators do not ski or snowboard. I also noticed there was no safety guy just standing on the top to rescue any bad falls. I did notice first aid just follows the lesson groups. So if you sign your child for a lesson it should be safe. Sign up your kids to run free, I dunno, check with them if first aid is watching a the top because the guys operating the lift won't see much. The individuals running lessons and first aid along the lessons appear very young; I'm not sure if the individuals running the lessons are certified. They may be young adults who know how to ski or snowboard-not sure. The lift ticket gave access to a magic carpet. It's okay. Value wise, I think most ski hills have a 25 to 35$ discovery area with magic carpets. This hill is basically the equivalent. I found even with just one hill, there are ice chunks and was not manicured the best being the only hill. For people with families they do run an after 4pm $29snow pass for 1 adult and 2 kids (so three people for one price), that's a great value. I wish they had a rate for two adults or two new ski or snowboarder because the demographic for beginners also includes adults. If you are trying for their learning area for $12 just try a tobagonning hill. I saw parents towing their kids with PVC pipe and rope... For value of all day fun go to Milton, Oshawa or Barrie. The 25 to 35 rate will cover all day fun so you aren't watching the clock with a combo of magic carpet and T bars. I also found after wiping out five times no one caught up to me to see if I was okay, no one hollered. At the more popular destination, people are nice to respond-- myself included when I see someone wipe out and I'm on skis I respond give a holler, they respond they're okay and I move on so they don't feel too embarrassed. So I do not think this location staffs enough people to respond to accidents, unless you're at the lessons. I really couldnt believe no one responded to me after I wiped out five times. I also found this location unfun??? When I go to ski hills, the lift operators actually ski and snowboard, the people are nice, strangers having random conversation, music blasting. Strangers actually helping you learn and when you wipe out people coming to your rescue....its fun. Going to Centennial felt like a solitude adventure :( I might give this place another try when it's less icy.

Beautiful, HUGE open space with peaceful ponds to picnic, stroll, jog, bike, play soccer, baseball, cricket or 18 hole disc golf. There is even a ski and snowboard centre! Lots of parking.

Price card for a ski in the city!

This is my winter review of Centennial Park Ski Centre. Despite having days well over 10 deg in February the city will tell you once they are open they are open! Currently offering 2 hills a couple hundred yards long.. one serviced by a "magic carpet" and the other by a T-bar. This is the perfect hill for your first intro to the sport and you will quickly move up to larger runs. Prices are pretty high for what you get but rental equipment is decent and you save in gas! Check out my photos!
