Amazing park with nice shady trails for walking or biking. It is a great place to visit in any season. Could get very crowded on weekends though. They used to have a special winter hut for swans and it was magnificent to see families of white swans on the lake. Unfortunately, the "swan hut" was removed during Covid and there are no more swans on Mill pond.

I stumbled upon the Mill Pond Park when visiting an art show. I saw that park had a lot walking space and a nice pond with tulips blooming. It was quite picturesque. Have you passed a pond on the left side you are able to walk along a trail that goes in three different directions. One way ticket to a field for picnics and also has a shelter for eating covered out of the sun. The other way takes you to another pond behind the community. If you go right it takes you on a shorter path that does not seem to be frequented as much as the other path. It circles back towards the pond about midway. There is an area for children to play on the playground. Parking is across the street. I did not see any restroom areas while I was there. I want to find some other good parks or green space areas to frequent the spring and summer. So if there are more out there that I have not seen or that you think are spectacular, that I should visit, please let me know.

Check out the popular outdoor summer concerts in the park on Thursday nights in July and August. There's nothing better than listening to nostalgic tunes on a warm summer evening. It's well organized with great tribute bands. The performers recreate the music of ABBA, Chicago, The Beach Boys, Michael Jackson and Motown to name a few. Come early if you want to snag one of the few picnic tables or bring a folding chair. Burgers, hot dogs and beverages are offered for sale at the BBQ during the concerts. Children can enjoy the playground. There's a nice boardwalk for a stroll beside the pretty pond. Washrooms are located across the street next to the small parking lot. The parking across the street is limited but there are plenty of side streets that allow parking and the nearby hospital has free parking during the concerts in the park series. There's even a supervised area to leave your bicycle during concerts.

I must echo the reminiscent sentiments of my hometown pal Mike S, on the nostalgia factor that Mill Pond Park brings about in any local kid who grew up in Richmond Hill over the years. It's one of the few central locations that is a great spot for kids and families all year round. By summer I can recall visiting with my family and playing for hours on their park, stopping for a packed lunch in the shade of the many trees above and around and sneakily feeding the crust of my sandwiches to the eagerly awaiting Geese and Ducks (also known as Richmond Hill vultures). Once I was a bit older, this was a place where you could ride your bike through or to with your pals and maybe even cause a little mischief (but not too much). Heck I'm pretty sure a teenage version of myself got a kiss from a pretty girl here one night. Yep! As the year turns to Winter the pace at Mill Pond Park doesn't diminish. The Geese fly away and they're replaced on the pond by hundreds of people skating and playing pond hockey. This was always something to look forward to by Winter, that and the annual Richmond Hill Winter Carnival. The town pulls in trailers that allow you to safely change in and out of your skates and the maple syrup served on snow was always a welcome treat. Possibly my favourite time of year here is Fall. The trees begin to change colour and on a crisp, clear day their reflection on the pond is a thing of true beauty. Walking the path around the pond is a great date idea (trust me fellas... I know). All this being said no matter the time of year, this is one of the best parts of Richmond Hill, my hometown, and I invite you to come see it for yourself some day.

Richmond Hill puts on a great musical line up for the summer at Mill Pond. Last night was Dream Girls with music from Tina Turner and Diana Ross, Gloria Gaynor. The park was jammed with people enjoying the warmth of the hot summer night and good music. Food was available for purchase from M& M's, Tim Horton's to name a few. People get there early in order to get a good spot. Others go for walks along the pond and when the music starts everyone wants to dance. The music line up goes from the month of July to end of August featuring many different artists and local talent. The evening begins at 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Well worth the drive out. Check out the Richmond Hill Guide to see what the line up is for the remaining weeks of summer.

Perfect place to get a dose of Nature's beauty and enjoy a book while basking in the sun. The entrance greets you with a scenic pond and the ducks can't get any friendlier! They just walk right up to you, making you want to pet one of the ducklings. Please don't feed them though. Mill Pond Park has got some great hiking trails and every step you take, you're bound to spot something interesting. While on the path, I was stopped by a rhythmic tap, tap, tapping noise. Looking up high in the trees, I spied a woodpecker. This could be a nice venue for birdwatchers! What's more, there are often community events held at this park such as the Winter Carnival, ice skating on the pond, and Concerts in the summer. This is definitely going to be one of my go-to places if I want some nature therapy and a leisurely escape.

We just recently moved to Richmond Hill and discovered this gem. It is larger than I thought it would be. There is a playground for kids and a gazebo that has music in the summer months. There is parking and washrooms. We are really enjoying the wildlife here. They have a couple of swans, some chipmunks, duck's and geese. If you stand in the wooded area where some of the paths are, you would hardly know your even in a city. We will be back for sure!

Bigger than I expected! Not many reviews but still made the 25 minute drive with my Minnie Maltese to have a walk around. I got there, and found it so easily! Their are two big parking lots from what I found! Even big clean washrooms and vending machines! Great place for a hike! Many trails and amazing scenery! A lot of people and a lot of dogs! I noticed there was a police car just driving around for about 20 minutes .. Kind weird but made me feel safe! The area is beautiful! So many geese and even swans! People were fishing, tanning, relaxing and walking their dog! Such a beautiful place to go and hang out! A lot of benches and even a gazebo! I will make the drive down again and this time wear running shoes to go try those trails with my boyfriend and dog!

I do agree the children's playground area is a bit outdated and needs to be fixed up so the little one's can have more fun and play safely. Ton's of nice views, there is a deck you can walk on and watch the turtles swimming! And it has Koi fish whaaaat! i got a duck, a turtle, and koi fish all in one picture. Win. The fountain is also really pretty with tall big bushy tree's surrounding the area. Just breathing the air is calming. Just remember to wear some bug repellent because man are there a lot of mosquitoes, i got bit like crazy. If you continue along the path past the deck you'll find yourself at a trail that winds around into a mini forest. It has nice log's you can sit down and take a break on or benches available as well. I did not see any duck poop on the trail or deck so that problem must've been fixed. Glad they listened! Will definitely come back again for a nice stroll.

Beautiful park with lots to do. Some nice short trails, a pond filled with fish and look out spots,…read morea newly renovated play ground, and splash pad. Some decent hills for toboganning in the winter too! Nice shady areas and a number of gazebos availble for private picnics (must reserve spot with city to obtain permit). Well maintained garden area thats beautifu in the summer. Short trail with nice views of the foliage in the fall. A great park to visit during all seasons. Very lively place. People there at all times of the day even on weekdays but never felt like its too crowded. Plenty of space for all to enjoy. Lots of parking. Ice cream truck is often in the lot by the playground selling the usual overpriced items. There is a washroom onsite.
