The other day it was a beautiful November afternoon so we went for a walk. We've only ever walked around the pond and then left but there's actually trails that extend from the pond to the north and northeast up to 16th Avenue. This time we followed the trail north and turned back when we got to 16th Avenue. Perhaps next time we'll take the other trail. There's 2 small parking lots nearby for those visiting. Currently (because of covid-19), there's signs for people to walk in a counterclockwise direction round the pond.

Just a few minutes from Main St. Unionville, there's this quiet and calming place to go for a walk, exercise, Fishing, or just sitting and enjoying the view. There's a bridge that you can cross between 2 sides. Depending on the season, you can see geese, duck, turtles and fish. There are a few ice cream places around the area, or you can go to Main St. for a quick bite/nice meal.

A visit of Old Unionville would not be complete without having a stroll in Toogood Pond. Or is it the other way around? 33 hectares of wildness with trails, wild life, streams and ponds. A little piece of heaven for the area's residents! There is also annual Urban Fish Festival held in the pond on the no licence day once a year. I don't know if I want to eat those fishes.. but it is fun if you have children to bring them here for a day of fun. And of course after you can always go to the Old Unionville and have a drink or a romantic dinner in one of the restaurants. There are free parking at the Old Unionville Business area.

Very nice place to take a walk, keep in mind that the walking "trail" is quite short if you take this specific one around the pond. There is quite alot of shade due to all the trees nearby, there are benches that you can spreaad out a picnic, and grass areas where you can relax. There are quite a lot of people on the weekends, I recommend coming on weekdays as you can get some really nice photos without people in them!

SC and I came by on a Sunday morning ~10AM. The parking lot directly connected to the trail is pretty small but we were able to get a spot easily. The maps around the park are a little off (one of the signs had an incorrectly placed "you are here" symbol ) but I enjoyed the other signs around the trail that indicated what animals there were (and even what the different geese poses meant). We strictly walked on the main paved trail around the pond but parts of it veers off into other areas. There's a couple outlooks and bridges to walk on and plenty of benches/ seating. It was restful to look out onto the water and watch the geese and turtles. There were people doing tai chi, taking pictures, and fishing too.

Located just North of Unionville main this large park offers up paths for walking and biking, beautiful scenic areas for bird and other animal watching and of course with the rogue river flowing, several Geese and ducks, sometimes even turtles! The park is regularly maintained and if not for the geese poop, very clean and well kept. Unfortunately, people do not listen to the posted signs and feed the geese, so expect moderate amounts of poop. There are fish in the pond, bringing out the odd fishermen here and there, which like feeding the geese, is illegal. But besides that, it's a great pond for walking/biking the trails. Very romantic on the west side, where the parking lot is. The path is wider and a lot nicer than the other side. If you take the west side north, you have the option of walking a deck out into the water. In the winter months, the ice is used by locals for hockey games, free skating even figure skating practice. It is not regulated and is frowned upon, but I do not think it is illegal. Been out for late night shinny several times and have never had a problem. There is a big deck on the East side at the end of the path that was closed for several years until now, could be wrong but I believe new ownership took it over in 2015. Drinks and ice cream are served here now, but most people purchase those things on the main strip. A definite must see if in Unionville!

The pond is a stroll just a little North East of downtown Unionville. If you walk the perimeter of the pond there's neat marshland area on the far end. You can also fish here with a fishing license. There's plenty of ducks and geese here all year round. Pretty popular spot with the community. They put on nice fireworks shows during the various festivals that happen throughout the year.

Pretty in all seasons. Great place to paint and just walk with family and dogs! There are so many animals in this park too. We have even seen a beaver and a fox.

To enter the park, you pass by Main Street Unionville. It's definitely a nice place for a stroll in the park, with two decks overlooking the pond and the park is a neverending circle like many parks. Would visit again next time the weather is good and when I am in the area.

Beautiful during the summer and winter times. Come on days with clear skies and be carried away by the beautiful scenery. Main street unionville and the Unionville library are closeby too, so there's really no reason not to stop by this place for some relaxation or sight-seeing.
