I was always able to take public transit there or get my parents to drive me. It's a large park to have a stroll, picnic or to play in the playground. It was a lot of fun being there. I would be surprised and forget how big it was just cause I didn't always have the opportunity to explore the park. Also, I remember a time where people were able to fly kites till it was banned. I don't know if they still do fireworks. For a time, the park would arrange fireworks on Canada Day and a lot of people would attend. During events like this, people would park at the Alton Towers plaza, walked or transit there because parking was limited. Local high school students would do their volunteer hours at the community center on the park. I think they need to apply online through the main city website (if memory serves me correctly).

They have divided the swings into 2 sections toddler and pre schoolers which is clever, so as a parent I was not scared of someone stumbling over my kid. Lol The beach is not good for the dip, although i have seen people going in the water. Otherwise it is a huge park for a group outing. The only challenge is parking on the weekends.

I go there mostly for the fantastic dog park. It is large and fully fenced, with a lovely view and a nice woodchip ground cover. Perhaps because it's a little bit further from the dense residential area, the dog park has not been too busy on the three occasions that I've visited it. With lots of shade and picnic benches, it is almost perfect. The only thing standing in the way of a 5-star rating is the lack of a water fountain. There's one near the bathrooms, not far from the dog park, but it does not have a dog fountain at the base.

There were quite a few people out and about so we all had the same idea. We've been to Humber Bay Park East many many times and don't know why we've never gone to Humber Bay Park West, which is less than five minutes from it. There are a couple parking lots and we found a spot in the one in the middle. We walked around a nearby point and then head southwest and ended up at the dog park. Then we turned around and headed to the beginning of the park, doubling back to the car. It's a nice park and we'll be back!

Some trail was still covered by the snow or wet. We walked slowly that still could take me an hour to go through different trails. It will be better to walk around during summer. It's just north of the hospital and is easy to miss since I rarely drive up this way. One of the best parts about the park is the free parking just south of the park. The trail is somewhat circular, and can vary from 2-3 km depending on where you walk. The trails are pretty easy and flat. The trails on the north side of the park pass by residential back yards and are primarily dirt trails, which can get muddy after a rain. You also pass by some nice brick houses on the west side of the park. Overall, a pretty nice walk if you're looking for something easy and don't want to break a sweat.

The forest is very peaceful to walk with lots of nice tree canopies. The terrain is mainly "paved" with either fine gravel or sand. The loop I was on was wide which made for a relaxing walk. In the walk there is a good size body of water with minnows. This area is a great place to stop and relax. The downside to this walk, there was quite a good amount of horse poop piles. Gross. Inside the Tract you will find many kilometres of trails, a pond and plenty of shade for the warmer weather. Great for many outdoor activities such as hiking, photography, dogwalking and horseback riding. It is vast enough that you will find some privacy but at the same time it is quickly becoming a very popular attraction. In the spring be careful as it can be muddy on some of the trails. In summer some days can bring the usual pests like mosquitos and ticks. Our favourite time to visit the Tract is in the fall when the leaves are changing yet still warm enough during the day. It's also a great place for nature photography. Many travel to the area for winter hiking and snowshoeing. Great for families, joggers, dog walkers and people of all ages.
