It's not too bad for vehicle with at least 3 people. There's lots of parking nearby. Trails by Webster's Falls are pretty well maintained and quiet. It is pretty short so it's should good for anyone who doesn't like long hikes. Also, there are picnic benches if you are planning to bring food. I feel like Webster's is somewhere you go in the spring or autumn. You would see the leaves being colors and more water flowing over the Falls. I have seen people slowly climbing down the cliffside to get to the base side. I would suggest not doing so because rocks are slippery and the cliffside is slippery.

This review is specifically for Webster's Falls in autumn! First off, you actually have to make a…read morereservation to hike here. I did this through the Hamilton Conservation Authority website. There are time slots for each day of the week and you pay a fee for each person and vehicle, as well as a convenience charge. It's not the most accessible for all people but they do this to keep the numbers of hikers manageable. Note that they will actually check that you're on the reservation list. When we got there and parked, there was a security guard with a printed out copy of the guestlist. Later on when we were entering the main part of the hike, there was a little kiosk where we were asked for our reservation again. I'd recommend printing out your reservation and bringing it with you in case. The hike is super easy. A good portion of it is paved and there was almost always a stair option if you didn't want to chance a hill with roots. There are a few look out points for Webster's Falls. At this time of year, the falls are a lot smaller than some of the pictures you might see online due to the water levels. It's still a really pretty sight though if you go when the leaves are changing colours.

I was extremely impressed with my visit here (even without a tour) as the displays had plenty of educational text and context which helped me understand what life was like on the ship. At 115m long, with several levels to the ship -- be prepared to spend a few hours exploring all the different parts of the ship and wear comfortable shoes to make it easier to navigate around the stairs and bridges. Dress light as most of the ship is not air conditioned, but this typically isn't a problem with a light wind blowing throughout the ship. Highly recommended if you enjoy history and especially if you have not been on a Navy boat before. Well worth the time if you're visiting the Hamilton area.

I don't know how well enforced it is, but feel free to give your parking receipt to someone else when you leave. $8 seems a lot for a waterfall! I was here in July so nothing frozen and no fall colors but still magnificent. a 21 meter (64 foot) cascade roars away. The path through the woods is very well marked and easy to follow up it's clear that some folks think it's okay to wander off the path. I stuck to the route and the observation platform. Partly because I'm a rule follow and partly because I'm the clumsy sort that would fall and hurt myself. Leave only footprints, take only photos. There will be people walking in the water. Be careful if you are walking through the water. Also, there are giant rocks and logs to sit on. I feel like Tiffany Falls is somewhere you go in the autumn. You would see the leaves being colors. There's a small fee enter (around $11/vehicle). It's done through a park kisok. You can use the same parking ticket at Sherman Falls within around 2 hours or so. The price not too bad for vehicle with at least 3 people. The parking area is really small. If you visit in the afternoon, you are going to wait a bit or park at Sherman Falls and walk (around 20 min) to Tiffany Falls. There isn't really a closer relatively larger parking lot.

It is just really cool to look up at a hill, put your car in neutral and have your car move up the hill. After that, the car went over the hill and downhill at a pretty good pace, so fast in fact that I had to break to make sure we made it through the sharp turn without incident. It was a bit of trouble to get to from out hotel and I was skeptical about finding the exact spot and a little worried it would not work and be a bust of an experience. However, I was delightfully surprised. We did it twice. Make sure your emergency lights are on and watch out for traffic. Try not to turn your car around on the house to the right like I did, I wanted to play it safe and not reverse on to the busy road. I am giving this 4.4 stars. If it was a little nicer, with signs pointing to it, and an explanation of why this occurs, it would get 5.0 stars.

I recommend getting the $115 annual Hamilton conservation pass which gives your family (a car up-to 6 people) access to this place and 9 other conservation places. So far with the membership, we've been to also Valens Lake and Christie Lake which are my two favourite places for spending a day...lots of green space to have family BBQ outings, lots of activities, biking (Christie only) and walking trails, paddling and swimming. Although this place doesn't have that much activities, it's quite unique with all the historical houses and shops. It would be nicer to visit here when covid is over since the shops were closed.

The volunteers are dedicated and knowledgeable, they bring the village to life. It is open year round with regular special events. We have been a few times and my favorite visit so far is the fresh baked bread-We had a great time learning about different bread and how they were made in the past. Not to mention sampling them! The one negative experience we had was Christmas events. They are so busy! We arrived to find no parking and people parking a ways down the main road and walking to the village. Walking on the major road no less. We would of done the same but with a young infant decided to pass. If you want to visit for Christmas you must go early

This marker is located in front of the Ancaster Old Town Hall. Ancaster is a historic town in the…read morecity of Hamilton, Ontario and it grew thanks to its easily accessible water power and location at the juncture of prehistoric indigenous trading routes. The marker reads, "In 1791 James Wilson in partnership with Richard Beasley built a sawmill and a grist-mill on the site of this community. The mills were sold to Jean Baptiste Rousseaux (known as St. John) in 1794 and developed into a thriving pioneer enterprise. The settlement which grew around these mills became an important trading community, known by about 1800 as Ancaster. In 1805 Samuel and Richard Hatt, who had built the "Red Mill" nearby in 1799, acquired extensive holdings in the vicinity, part of which they subdivided. The combined settlement grew rapidly and became a centre for water-powered industries until the end of the nineteenth century." The marker was erected by the Archaeological and Historic Sites Board of Ontario. It does not have a number. There is a small parking lot behind the building. Time travelled back to 1914 one afternoon. So peaceful and serene looking at life in the early…read more1900s, especially the cool the artifacts. It takes about 2 hours to explore the grounds starting with the entrance from the Region of Waterloo Museum which is connected to the Doon Heritage Village on Huron Road. Staff are wonderful at answering questions and showing how the old tools and equipment were used back then. Some of the old tools are just rock solid and will last forever. Wood was the primary construction materials used for building. This explains why fire insurance was a fast growing business. Insurance companies in the Region thrived and made the economy grow in that sector for years to come. The Martin House is beautifully decorated inside and out. The family was of Old Order Mennonite religion. There were very conservative colour schemes used, and no mirrors were allowed in the home! The Old Post Office is connected to a custom tailor service in the same building. Our hostess explained how the one man operation (tailor and postmaster) was in charge of both businesses. Suits were made to order and were outfitted with ties and cuff links. It was a profitable venture until the Eaton's catalogue business became more popular. The Dry Goods Grocery Store is "stocked" with canned goods and non-perishables such as soap and laundry detergent. Brand names included McCormicks and Heinz. Homes were equipped with a cast iron stove that kept the premises warmer in the winter months. Check out the feet of the stoves which were designed like ones you would find on vintage pianos. Very enjoyable afternoon spent and we learned a lot about early life and hard work of the German community and how it all started in Kitchener (then known as Berlin).

From the owner: The year 1914 comes to life at Doon Heritage Village…read more Doon Heritage Village, located at the Waterloo Region Museum, is a 60 acre living history village that includes 23 historic buildings, and two farms with farm animals. Costume interpreters greet visitors in the historic buildings. Special events and activities throughout the village's May 1 to December 23 season. Doon Heritage Village is open seven days a week from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. from May 1 to Labour Day. Hours vary from Labour Day to Dec. 23 - check the museum's website for public hours in the fall. The village is closed from December 24 to April 30.
