You can walk, bike or run on the Hamilton Waterfront Trail all the way to Burlington Lift Bridge. Beaches are rather stoney, but you still can swim in this area. It is also a family friendly park. There are lots of picnic tables and BBQ areas available. Children can enjoy nice playground areas in the park. A perfect day for every member of the family.

There was a short trail for hiking but I wouldn't recommend coming here for hiking. We still managed to get some fall colours in our photos which was nice. Remember to book your reservations online. We paid $35 which was a bit pricey but the fees cover admission to Christie Lake as well which would costs $25 for the 3 of us. We just went to Christie Lake a few weeks ago and didn't know about this deal. It's only about 7 mins drive to Christie Lake so we decided to go there for our picnic lunch after our walk at Spencer Gorge.

If you do want to visit Dundas Peak then the only option is to park your car at Tews Falls and just walk there. I just love to listen to the sound of water and the view is enjoyable. To get to the Great Falls, go south on Mills Street North, go under a railway bridge, park at the Smokey Hollow Park on the right. We went when the cherry blossoms were beginning to bloom but it was a tad bit early for the other floral arrangements to bloom in their outdoor gardens so it still felt winter-like. We started at one location early in the morning with the Arboretum. That's where you pay $25 to drive your vehicle in. Parking is ample early in the morning but when we left an hour or two later, there was a conga line of vehicles waiting to get in. So, yes you have to be there at least at around 8 AM if you don't want to wait in line or find parking. Parking is free at the main RBG region with their inside greenhouse region plus their outside garden. What I didn't like was that you had to drive out afterwards to go to the Rock Garden where you had to show your tickets again for entrance. Parking was still free though. So, overall, a lot of driving from one location to another (at least three) and a lot of walking. If you want to bring slow-walking seniors, good luck. It's beautiful scenery but a lot of walking involved.
