A nice, small park with cherry blossoms for viewing pleasure!…read more Came by with my gf on a sat afternoon to look at cherry blossoms. Unfortunately for us, we were so keen that we arrived a week early so only like 4 trees were in full bloom but the scenery was still beautiful nonetheless. There was a bridge running through the middle and a man-made pond as well (which was inhabited by ducks). Also plenty of benches across the walkways for ppl to sit. The bell was a nice touch in the middle of the park and the aesthetics are very calming and serene. As an FYI, there's tons of ppl taking vids and pics at this park. Location-wise very convenient because it's also situated near Square One shopping center nearby!

We went when the cherry blossoms were beginning to bloom but it was a tad bit early for the other floral arrangements to bloom in their outdoor gardens so it still felt winter-like. We started at one location early in the morning with the Arboretum. That's where you pay $25 to drive your vehicle in. Parking is ample early in the morning but when we left an hour or two later, there was a conga line of vehicles waiting to get in. So, yes you have to be there at least at around 8 AM if you don't want to wait in line or find parking. Parking is free at the main RBG region with their inside greenhouse region plus their outside garden. What I didn't like was that you had to drive out afterwards to go to the Rock Garden where you had to show your tickets again for entrance. Parking was still free though. So, overall, a lot of driving from one location to another (at least three) and a lot of walking. If you want to bring slow-walking seniors, good luck. It's beautiful scenery but a lot of walking involved.

It's a great place for walking, biking, rollerblading, or just relaxing by the water. On a really clear day, you can even see CN Tower and the Toronto skyline across the lake, which is always cool to spot. Adventure Village is a cute little mini park area nearby that kids will especially love, and while Wild Water Works is just okay in my opinion, it's still a fun option on a hot summer day. One of the true classics here is Hutch's on the Beach. We've been going there for years for fries, fish & chips, and ice cream...though it can get SUPER packed during peak times. There are also some other nice-looking spots like Barangas on the Beach that add to the area's appeal. Unfortunately, over the last few years the park has definitely become more crowded and more litter-filled, which is disappointing. But despite that, I've still always enjoyed my time here and have a lot of nostalgia attached to this place.

When we were there, the barn area wasn't really opened to the public (in terms of looking inside them).

This is a nice park with lots of hiking trails and lush woods, offering plenty of shades on a sunny day. The only trail that allows you to go down to the creek is #6 Half Moon Valley Trail. I would also recommend #4 Lookout Ravine Trail which is almost completely covered by trees and would be beautiful in the fall. You shouldn't miss the famous White Oak Tree, likely germinated since 1685 and at least 300 years old, close to parking lot A. The Spruce Lane Farmhouse is another highlight near parking lot F, which is a Victorian-style house showing visitors what life was like back then. The antique furniture, well-decorated rooms, farm equipment, and friendly volunteers wearing Victorian costumes gave us an immersive experience at the farm. The only problem is that the amenities are a bit dated, especially with the signage. The park staffs should hand out free maps as you enter the park, and there should be more directions as to where you are. I often had to rely on Google to check location and the pre-downloaded map from their website. The swimming pool remains under renovation as of summer 2024, so the park is not yet at its full potential.

The difference from other parks that often also have all these features is that this park is situated next to Streetsville, one of the most happening areas in the city.
