The space struck a great balance: relaxed and scenic, but well-suited for seated, focused workshops. Kate and Craig are extremely generous and easy to work with, from the idea to the setup and execution of the event. I would highly recommend Nevada Sunset Winery to anyone looking to host a class, tasting, or private event. It was our first time going to a drag show and it was a blast having a Mother's day reunion this way. The entertainers were fun (Maria you're the best) and the drink service could have been a little faster. There were many of us at our table that ordered bottomless mimosas. The rest of our mommy's had tequila and other hard liquors. The food options at the outdoor parking lot were delicious. It did take some time. This parking lot is horribe. I recommend ride share or getting dropped off here so you don't have to leave your car downtown on the streets. This part of 4th street isn't the best area. Shout out to the hubbs for shuttling me. We'll have to come back and have beer on the other side. I love their peanut butter stout and usually have a chilled pack in my fridge in the Summer. Archive has also been hosting some fabulous pop dinners and wine tasting in this new space. The pop ups have been great fun. The space isn't huge, so the events are limited to 30 people. Just right to get star treatment from everyone. No pretentious wine snobs or chefs, everyone discussing the highlights of the food and wine. Besides the dinners, Archive has also been hosting blind tastings and other fun wine discovery night. The Oktoberfest itself was a pretty good-sized event with around 35-40 vendors and four food trucks. Since we had never been inside McHoppers before, we decided to check it out. The building is divided into three sections: one area for ordering drinks, a middle section with pool tables, axe throwing and the restrooms, and a larger back room where they had an open mic. Unfortunately, our experience with the server wasn't very welcoming. She seemed annoyed to be helping us and didn't really show much customer service. The server helping the party after us was much friendlier and at least smiled while taking care of her customers. I ordered the blonde lager, but I'm pretty sure I was given the red instead. It was dark in color and looked and tasted much more like a red ale than a blonde lager. ‍ On the bright side, we did grab some food from Fine Swine, which we had tried before at a Terrible's event, and we enjoyed walking around checking out all the vendors. We also stopped at Tillie's & Crew for some sourdough and HD Bees for some honey -- two finds we were definitely happy about! Overall, I thought the Oktoberfest event itself was pretty good and we'd probably go again. There were plenty of vendors to browse, food options and things to check out. Sadly, though, based on our experience, we probably wouldn't bother going inside McHoppers again. The event was enjoyable; the customer service inside just didn't leave us wanting to go back.

We've been seeing Battle Born Beer available in stores and at various bars around town for a couple years, but now they have taken the next step and gotten their own digs, becoming the newest beer spot in this already beer-sy party of town. The facility is located technically off of Fifth Street, being in a converted warehouse literally right behind The Depot. The joint looks fantastic, perhaps even with traces of that 'new brewery smell' you look for when you go to the building dealership. There is space inside for some seating areas, and some closed off patio areas outside with room for tables and a couple outdoor games. As for hours, the owners are saying they are hoping to be open on Friday and Saturday nights in the near future, with plans to maybe expand hours or even the taproom itself to accommodate more customers. Parking can be a bit tight, given the abundance of favorite dinner and drinking spots around here, but should be very manageable when no events are going on. Today, though, was not the day to see the day-to-day operations, as the owners and staff wanted to kick things off right for their grand opening by throwing a real kicker of a block party! Great music, delicious fare served out from food trucks, cool swag for sale, and taps-a-plenty of their beer. So far they only have the one beer, their flagship pilsner. But this is a pretty darn good one, as it is tasty, smooth, and very easy drinking. Indeed, it is one of those perfect beers for events like this. Plus, with their close partnership to The Depot, look for some of their beers on tap as well. Prices were really good, with about two to three pints being $10, six-packs on sale for $7.50, and twelve-packs for $14. All in all, I am glad to see Battle Born open up a place of their own in the beating beer heart of the city. Will certainly look forward to coming back and trying them out again. Cheers, guys!
