Needed a birthday coffee and I am glad I stumbled upon high low. Everything you want in a coffee shop High Low is/has. They have music playing, but it is quiet for folks studying or those trying to converse. The space has loads of natural light with a wildly calming ambience. Perfect for getting work done. They have shelves and shelves of great reads... even with a board game or 2. The workers were great. It was early on a Sunday do the space was still pretty empty. I got a to go latte so I was perusing the boom shelves. The barista delivered my latte over to me instead of just leaving it on the table, a beautiful gesture. This is absolutely a space for all. The studiers, the socialites, the coffee snobs, and everything in between. Definitely going to start being a regular in my rotation.

High Low is a hidden gem in the St. Louis Arts District! It combines two of my favorite things--books and coffee--so what's not to love? One thing that makes High Low so appealing is its design. It's the quintessential city coffee shop, the perfect place to grab a breakfast of their signature buttermilk biscuits, or to study/catch up on work in the relaxing cafe atmosphere. High Low is connected to "The Listening Room," which hosts many local events. The overall aesthetic is what really ties High Low together. Moving on now to what everyone is reading this review for--the drinks! First of all, I have to give props to the barista who made my drink, I said I wanted it to look pretty for an Instagram photo, and he delivered! Just look at those layers! I've never tried matcha before, and since my dad was paying, I decided to be a little adventurous and order the butterfly matcha lemonade. It was honestly a lot better than I was expecting--it tasted just as good as it looked! I especially loved the element of the butterfly pea flower tea, it added some sweetness that balanced out the herby undertones of the matcha. High Low is great, and it is best enjoyed when you give yourself time to immerse yourself in the relaxing atmosphere--read some books, play some games, and above all, indulge in a handcrafted drink.

A great place to relax, study, work, and enjoy great coffee and conversation with friends or family. You can study, read, or work at the tables with lamps or on the other side of the coffee shop you can relax and enjoy your coffee. The front windows let in a lot of light and sun. You can still find shades spots in the shop if you want to avoid sitting in the sun. Blueprint Coffee is a recognized specialty coffee roaster so you can always expect excellent coffee when you visit. Their coffee equipment is only the best to ensure your coffee tastes great. You can also find a few coffee paraphernalia to make their coffee at home yourself.

I occasionally like to visit Hi Low because I love the intimate atmosphere of this coffee shop. There are long tables with outlets readily available, along with high top seating along the floor to ceiling windows. I enjoy studying here, as it has a calm atmosphere on the inside. The vibe itself is hipster yet eclectic. There is also an art gallery nestled in the heart of the establishment. The gallery is run by the Kranzberg Arts Foundation Visual Art Program and showcases works from a diverse range of artists in the St. Louis community. The coffee and lattes themselves are wonderful! Definitely some of the best coffee in St. Louis. Today, I ordered the airplane latte, which incorporates a Biscoff flavor. My sweet treat is anything with cookie butter, so I had to order this drink! This drink did not disappoint. It was creamy and smooth notes of caramel, in addition to subtle hints of Biscoff. I worried that it was going to be too sweet, but the latte was perfectly balanced. The team at High Low is chill. The coffee comes out within 5-10 minutes, and there is a water faucet available to fill your bottles yourself (a touch I always love). If you're wanting a quant place to get work done or read, High Low is the place for you.

Located on Washington along with many other great restaurants in the Midtown area, High Low is such a cool coffee shop for you to check out. I love that it's a work/study coffee shop so you can come to enjoy by yourself or with other friends. There is plenty natural sunlight for you in the store. Their drinks and pastries seem very good with reasonable price. I tried the seasonal fruit shrubs and it was really refreshing. They also have an interesting menu for coffee. If you enter inside of the shop, there's also a mini art gallery, which I thought was cool. I highly recommend you checking out this coffee shop if you are ever in this area.

Really friendly staff and they make their syrups all in house so the coffee & matcha are delicious! Lots of seating, perfect for hanging out, reading, or studying. Street parking, but I've never had any issues finding somewhere to park!

Amazing experience at Blueprint Coffee @ High Low! The service was excellent--friendly, efficient, and welcoming. I ordered the banana oat nitro cold brew, and it was probably one of the better cold brews I've ever had--smooth, creamy, and perfectly balanced. My daughter enjoyed a matcha that was expertly prepared, and my son loved the chocolate chip cookie, which was fresh and delicious. It's a great spot with something for everyone. Highly recommend!

Blueprint is one of my favorite coffee spots in St. Louis and I was excited to try this new location. Located in midtown near SLU, it feels more like a cozy library rather than a coffee spot. We stopped by on a Saturday afternoon and it was packed! We struggled to find a spot to sit and enjoy our coffee and pastries. The coffee was on par with Blueprint's high standards. I also enjoyed a buttermilk biscuit with apple butter that was quite tasty. I love the vibe of this location and will definitely come pack to enjoy again.

My latte and scone were delicious and the staff very friendly. I haven't really explored the art, but the space extends way back into the building, and there are places to sit throughout. Also, bonus, you can bring your dog inside to order coffee! The only thing for improvement I can see is if it could be clearer what the relationship is between these two spaces, and whether coffee patrons are allowed back in the art space with food. Some people walked in clearly looking for a place to have a meeting, and they were guides back into the art space, whereas they moved some stuff around so I could sit in the coffee shop area - is there some protocol I'm missing?

Not to mention the aesthetics of the restaurant itself were simply just fun. An old police station turned restaurant with amazing (if not the best) tacos in the area! I had to try as much as I could... I ordered the Quesabirria, beef street taco, brisket street taco, strawberry churro, and chips & dip. Great portion sizes with plenty to take home. The only con I had was the seasoning on the chips - however, that's more of a personal preference than a fault of the restaurant. And just an added little bonus... the take home boxes are compostable! Slaaayyy. #SaveTheEarth I'll have to update this review after my next visit to include the art gallery.

Had an opportunity to check it out during a public event called Something Crafty This Way Comes - A Dark Arts A-Faire. While this was a unique event, I didn't stay long because I really just wanted to see the Mad Art space. When you walk through the door you are taken back in time. I think that Mad Art has done such an amazing job keeping the original character of the police station. The marble walls and flooring pull you in with so much classic vibes. There was a bar area that was behind bars. I really really loved the old prison cell. I really think this would be the perfect place for a wedding or major event as it's super memorable. One tip is to follow the Mad Art page on Facebook. They announce public events on their page. I noticed that their events aren't kept up to date on their website. Looking forward to more chances to get to hang out in Mad Art.
