A lovely tabletop gaming store and cafe tucked away off the beaten path, High Ground Hobbies is a true gem! They offer a wide selection of hobby items for many different games, beautifully decorated private game rooms, and even a dungeon themed Airbnb. The staff have always been incredibly helpful and friendly. If you love gaming, or even are just curious, check this place out!

We were in town for a concert and to meet up with some friends and it happened to be "Free Comic Book Day" and we had time to kill, so we stopped at some local shops including the Deep at their new location. They had all the goodies for giveaways-- who can beat 3 free comics plus another 5 freebies if you make a purchase? The companies (Marvel, DC, and the indies) made a good show of rolling out freebies to give readers a sample of current offerings and hopefully they roped in some new readers. It was nice to see The Deep still has a swath of back issues, I was able to cross several titles off my never-ending search list as I poked around the store. They still have a wall of new releases, a ton of games and figures, etc. It was also very cool to see such a wide diversity of readership, people of all ages and backgrounds grabbing up new releases and picking up pull lists. Not sure if ownership has changed in the past decade or more or if it's more to do with the changing vibes of the subculture itself becoming more mainstream and accessible, but it just felt overall more "welcoming" and open than ever before so that anyone can find the book they're looking for and get into comics. Very cool. Plenty of parking. Appreciated the additional 20% off of purchases for the comic book day, and back issue prices are fair--more expensive than some, far cheaper than others.

Last time I was here another regular customer pulled up and told me "...you can never tell if they will be open or not.." I don't have to deal with incompetence like that. A lot of B/X and AD&D 1 and 2e stuff. He has what appeared to be every 3e, 3.5, and 5e book. Now, as far as comics are concerned, he has a LOT, but I'm not a comic reader so I can't really speak to that very much. He does have a metric ton of them though. Now his prices are a little on the high side, but the guy is cool so I don't mind spending a little extra to support a local business. I don't want to, and won't, get absolutely ripped off, but I will pay a few dollars more at a local store because I support these small business owners. So, that is what i think about higher B&M prices. If you go here expecting to get everything for what you can on eBay, you will be disappointed, however he has some good deals and! I got some miniature figures for LESS than they're available for online. So that's good. His older books though, they're more. But again I don't mind. And the owner is really cool. Me and my buddy enjoyed talking to him for awhile. Good guy. Anyway, I completely recommend Top End, and he's opening a bar area on the other end of his building soon too. So there's no reason to not go and at least check the place out.

Hands Down the Best Pizza Spot in Town! I visited Lost Pizza…read moreCo. recently, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The first thing you notice is the fun, quirky atmosphere--the walls are covered in cool retro decor and old signs that make the place feel incredibly unique and welcoming. The Food: The Pizza: We ordered the Kujo (their version of a supreme) and the Otis (a meat lover's dream), and both were incredible. The thin crust was perfectly crispy without being burnt, and they definitely don't skimp on the toppings. Must-Try Items: Do not skip the Mississippi Delta Hot Tamales! They are arguably some of the best I've ever had--moist, flavorful, and served with a side of house hot sauce that gives them a perfect kick. Extras: The fried ravioli and the cheese nuggies are great starters, and if you have any room left, the strawberry dessert pizza tastes exactly like a strawberry toaster strudel. Service & Vibe: The staff was super friendly and efficient even though it was a busy night. You order at the counter, and they bring the food right to your table. It's a great spot for families or just hanging out with friends over a few local craft beers. Overall, if you're looking for high-quality pizza and a laid-back, cool environment, Lost Pizza Co. is the place to be! I will definitely be back soon.
