We were in town for a concert and to meet up with some friends and it happened to be "Free Comic Book Day" and we had time to kill, so we stopped at some local shops including the Deep at their new location. They had all the goodies for giveaways-- who can beat 3 free comics plus another 5 freebies if you make a purchase? The companies (Marvel, DC, and the indies) made a good show of rolling out freebies to give readers a sample of current offerings and hopefully they roped in some new readers. It was nice to see The Deep still has a swath of back issues, I was able to cross several titles off my never-ending search list as I poked around the store. They still have a wall of new releases, a ton of games and figures, etc. It was also very cool to see such a wide diversity of readership, people of all ages and backgrounds grabbing up new releases and picking up pull lists. Not sure if ownership has changed in the past decade or more or if it's more to do with the changing vibes of the subculture itself becoming more mainstream and accessible, but it just felt overall more "welcoming" and open than ever before so that anyone can find the book they're looking for and get into comics. Very cool. Plenty of parking. Appreciated the additional 20% off of purchases for the comic book day, and back issue prices are fair--more expensive than some, far cheaper than others.

It's not the most modern or the by new today standards cleaner. But it has the classic look I grew up with. The staff was nice and helpful. I met the owner before I he left for the night. I thought he was friendly and knowledgeable. The main reason I rated this so high was because of the back issues. There is a large amount of back issues and priced very well. I was able to find books that are hard to find except on the internet. If you are looking for a book that is hard to find try here first.

We must have spent an hour browsing and we probably still missed some stuff. The staff was great. We were greeted as soon as we entered. He also made sure we didn't need anything while we shopped. He was very attentive. When we found something in the case we wanted he was quick to come over. The contents of the store was extensive. They had trading cards of all sorts, comics, funko pops, lots of sports merchandise, and old and new toys. So much stuff I probably missed a lot. Their signed collectibles come with letters of authenticity. Also their prices seem very fair and reasonable. We will definitely be going back!

Nothing new to the menu, but a few things were not available. Not sure if it's a temporary thing or not. The price of food was inline with what you got, which is an upgrade geeky themed bar food (pizza, pretzels bites, potato bites, chili dogs, barbque something, cinnamon rolls...). They have increased their parking spaces by a lot since the last time we were there, which was really nice because that seemed to be a major issue. They have multiple rooms you can rent for gaming with your group that are themed. Along with a large room with multiple tables, and a really large room set up with tables for terrain TTRPG. Only negative I still have, but is not a major issue, is that they do not offer diet soda either fountain or bottled. They only have Coke Zero, which is way too sweet tasting for me. I am sure this is because those who are there often probably don't drink Diet Coke or Diet Dr. Pepper. However, did notice that they did have more surgar free options this time, which was nice. Though this time I didn't have much interaction with the staff, what I did, they were friendly and personable as I have come to expect. They never made us feel like we were in the way or a bother, and didn't make us feel rushed to clear out when our event was over. I have loved watching this place continue to grow over the last year or so.
