Im going to start out by saying when I first saw the two moving guys I was SCARED SHITLESS! They looked to be about 17-19 years old (turns out they were 23)! In any case i was worried because my furniture is heavy and a lot of it is mirrored ! I asked him, and his response was "it's not about age it's about experience" lol and he was RIGHT THEY SURPRISED ME !! They moved my whole apartment in 1.5 almost 2 hours, wrapped all my furniture, took care to not hit the walls, and the other two hours moved my belongings to the second floor of my moms house ! I would definitely recommend them again. Word of advice though. Do yourself the favor and buy or find boxes and pack your own belonging (that's why I did) because although they will pack for you, they do charge 4 dollars per box! read more

Quick correspondence from the owner and reasonable rates. But with a reasonable price comes some cons. You only get two movers so the whole process takes longer than expected. Also when both movers are transporting, the truck is left open and unattended. Only one of my two movers spoke English so communication was difficult. Overall, I was pretty satisfied. The movers handled my things with care over speed. No major damage that I noticed. They also disassembled and reassembled a couple larger items as needed. They rushed a little towards the end but it went pretty smoothly. Thankful they were available on fairly short notice over a holiday weekend and helped me get from A to B. read more

These guys were AMAZING! From the point of communication at the start all the way to the last assembled piece at the end, these guys NAILED IT. Let me just say that this is the first time I've ever used a moving company. I've been told that I like to put myself in stressful situations, so of course I sent out mass communication to a bunch of moving companies on Thursday evening for that weekend, which happened to be Memorial Day weekend and apparently one of the busiest times for moving. We chose High Five Movers because of the rave reviews they got on Yelp, their fair pricing, their flexible options, and their swiftness in communication. Within a few minutes of sending out the quote request, I got a call from Kirill, but since I was finishing up at work and missed the call, he followed up via Yelp message. We were deciding between a pickup from two different locations with a final destination drop off OR a single pickup and drop off. Kirill was very honest with his recommendations of quantity of movers, and their 'no hidden fees' pricing kept us at ease. He gave us the option of 2 guys (if it were a singular pickup at a cash price $79/hr, min 3 hours) or a suggested 3 guys (if it were 2 pick up locations at a cash price of $104/hr, min 3 hours) and allowed me to communicate our needs all the way up to 2 days before the scheduled move. (Please check with High Five Movers for any updated pricing.) High Five Movers is highly responsive via phone call, text, or Yelp message. They arrived within their initial time frame provided and they made sure to communicate updates if there were any changes. The guys had a great system going on. They seemed to work together like a well-oiled machine. Things were dismantled, wrapped, packaged, moved, and reassembled with the best attention to detail and care in a ridiculous timely manner. These guys made it look so easy! My only regret is that I did not get a high five. However, that is a minor sacrifice for these guys who were professional, efficient, careful, communicative, affordable, flexible, friendly, and every other great word that I can think of. These guys are GREAT ! Firstly, they are polite and courteous. The owner responds in a timely manner to your messages / calls which is awesome when you needed a mover urgently. Most importantly, they are responsible in finishing what they have started. We booked them for moving services on a Sunday from a storage location back to our house. Unfortunately for us, after 80% of our stuffs were loaded into the freight lift, the lift had mechanical issues leading to the lift being locked out and unable to operate. We couldn't do anything with all our stuffs inside and the emergency number was useless. We waited for 4-5 hours and there wasn't anyone responding to us despite numerous calls were made. Roman and the team waited patiently and in the end we made the decision to go back as its pointless to be waiting there. Roman asked us to contact the storage office the next day ( which is a working day ) and he will arrange for his team to be back at site to help us finish up the work ( for the record, they are situated more than 20 miles from us but this didn't deter them from just walking out on us ) They came on Monday after we were able to resolve the freight lift issue, finished up the moving job for us. They also just charged us the minimum price required to finish the job and does not include the waiting hours in the price. What impressed me most is the fact that they were willing to come back the next day. They could have just totally walked out on the job. These guys are AMAZING. We had an emergency situation allowing us only two days to plan, pack and execute a move from a 3 bedroom house to our new residence. In between puling out my hair and wringing my hands in worry, I began sending yelp requests for quotes to various moving companies. I chose Roman and his team based on their speedy response to my inquiry, their abundance of positive reviews, and their standardized "no surprises" rate quote. After booking via email - and since there were a few negative reviews, I did begin to worry - was this too easy??? I attempted to contact them a few times via phone - and I did speak to Roman and he confirmed my appointment was set and he would see me on Saturday morning. ... after Roman's reassurance (hooray human voice!) I resumed my running around like a chicken with it's head cut off for the next 48 hours... Roman and his 2 team members showed up on time and ready to move my enormous mess. It was a grueling 8 hour move and they were incredible. They quickly and carefully wrapped my furniture and loaded what must have been about a million boxes. After which, they took their well-deserved break, returning to unload at our new location. Due to their meticulous planning and loading of the truck, the unload took about half the time as the loading. I cannot say enough good things about High Five Movers. My initial interaction with this company was great. Roman (the owner) responded to my emails quickly, provided me a quote, and guaranteed there were no hidden fees and extra costs. We agreed for $312 for the minimum of 3 hours with 3 movers for a Monday at 4pm. When they had to postpone the time, I was informed hours ahead of time and was assured that they would be assisting me with the move at 5pm. 7:30pm rolls around, and I never received a call. I contacted the owner, Roman, who informed me he contacted someone in my family that they will be arriving later than scheduled, which my family reported never receiving. So when Roman finally answers his phone, he states that he cannot give me an estimated time of arrival but that he and his movers will still be arriving. I was honestly hesitant - I was moving from one apartment to another, and I did not like the idea of having movers here (with a minimum hire of 3 hours, meaning that the earliest they would finish would be at least midnight) that late which would disturb my neighbors, but Roman insisted when I stated I would rather hire another moving company for the following day. He even told me he'd provide a discount, then guaranteed he will be available 9pm. 9:00pm comes, and still no response from Roman until about 9:20/9:30pm. Roman requests I sign the contract in the middle of moving my things, then states he will have to charge over the $312 because of the "quality" of the move and that the $312 was not a quote, but an estimate. He and I were literally standing in the middle of my kitchen at 11:30pm at night after he had arrived late, kept me in the dark about our appointment time, and then was trying to add fees/extra costs after guaranteeing me there wouldn't be? I reminded him that he would provide me a discount, that the quote for the move was already agreed upon, all of which he genuinely seemed to have forgotten. The day before the move, I texted again to confirm and they overbooked themselves and said I never was scheduled. The guys moved us about 2 months ago, and now that we are moving again I realized that I didn't even write a review on High Five Movers even though they are truly amazing! We had heavy furniture to move (tables, bed and couch around 150 lbs each) and these guys didn't charge us with "heavy item" fees and made up stuff like that! They arrived as discussed, worked hard and delivered all our expensive belongings in one piece, safely wrapped and carried to the 3rd floor. We finished late (10 pm-ish) and this was already their second job for the day BUT they were still fast, fit and punctual with every little details of unpacking. I cannot recommend this service. During the course of the move, the owner Roman yelled at me at my home, broke items (for which, six months later, I have still received no compensation), and forgot to unpack some of our items (we had to have them come back to our home 2x). Yes, High Five Movers is priced well, and they say they are "licensed and insured." But that doesn't mean anything since they will not actually pay for your damaged items. They damaged several of our items and, months after I sent photos and links to the items that would require replacement, I was still following up with Roman about the status of reimbursement. He told me he needed more time to pay me. I said ok. He told me he got in an accident and needed more time. I said ok. He told me multiple times he would call me to discuss, but never did. I finally messaged him and said I would need to file a report with the Better Business Bureau and write a Yelp review, and he called me immediately. The conversation started out ok--he apologized for the slow communication, acknowledged that I had been patient, etc. He said that he would pay me the full amount for the damaged items ($433) if that's what I wanted, but that most people take off 10-15% of the amount owed and he only thought he should give me $250 (only slightly more than 50% of the total value of the items they broke). I said I was not comfortable with $250, but would consider taking off some percentage of the total. I said I would be ok with $350 (which is about 20% off of the total value of what was broken). He also said that, no matter what, it would take him weeks to pay me. He then started to take the conversation in very inappropriate directions, commenting incoherently about my Rage Against the Machine photo that he saw when he packed my house, socialism, capitalism, and the fact that they had worked a 14 hour day for us that included the cost of boxes. He started yelling at me so incoherently, I had to hang up. This was after months of back and forth with no resolution. My conversation with him left me feeling sick to my stomach and enraged. Unless you feel like being treated disrespectfully, inappropriately, and don't want any assurance that your items are actually insured since they won't want to pay it, go with another mover. It has now been six months since our move. I have still not received any compensation for my broken items. In early February, I received a message from Roman saying that he needed a few more days to get me a check. It's March 22 and I still haven't received anything. I'm including screen shots of this, as well as photos of some of my damaged items. If you want even more details about what happened, read on: While screaming at me incoherently about how I had a Rage Against the Machine photo, but I must just be a capitalist who doesn't care about workers' wellbeing (since they worked a long day for us and since he was with his family when we were speaking and he said I "didn't care" about that") he said, "and you can quote me on your review." I told him I hadn't written a review and wasn't planning on it (this was months ago). I rarely write reviews and they are normally supportive ones for businesses I think are wonderful. But I do not want anyone else to have the experience that I had. I felt unsafe by the time I hung up on him to just to put an end to his berating me. As part of his reasoning as to why he should not pay me the full amount for damages items, he said his company also provided boxes. This is part of what they offer in the contract, not something I should be charged for afterward because they broke my items. He and his workers did work a long day for us. Prior to our move date, I went over the full scope of the move with Roman multiple times and asked him several times if one day was enough. He told me multiple times that one day was enough. At the end of our move, we paid them the full amount they were due based on the quoted charges, tipped them all generously, provided them water and breakfast, and treated them as professionals. All we expected was to be treated respectfully as customers and, instead, I am left feeling sick to my stomach and unsafe. All because I asked for reimbursement for the items he broke, which, as I understood, was guaranteed based on the fact that his company was insured. But even prior to this, he mistreated me the day of the move. Just do yourself a favor and steer clear of this unprofessional business owner--a business owner who accused me of being a cold hearted capitalist...but isn't a business owner who tries to screw customers out of what they paid for the epitome of a capitalist? Wow! Roman, and his guys Denny & Greg, were amazing!! They were on time, loaded everything up quickly and not a single piece was damaged. They wouldn't let us help so we had to just sit back and have a coffee while they did their job. And I have to especially mention, they saved my beloved refrigerator. I had measured everything at our new place to know if we could bring our fridge along. But I didn't take into account the door handles and how turning corners reduces the available space. Roman took my fridge apart piece by piece until it fit through the door and then put everything back together expertly. It was like watching the secrets of a magician's trick! Let me start this review off by simply saying what a disappointment. If I could rate no stars, believe me I would. 3 weeks in advance I reached out to High Five Movers to get an estimate for my upcoming move at the end of the month. Roman immediately responded with pricing and availability. I confirmed the move and was given a arrival time for 9am, I provided my information and scheduled their services. Thursday evening, a week before the move, I texted Roman on number he provided me to confirm my appointment and..... there was no response. The following Monday, I sent High Five Movers a message on yelp expressing my concern about not getting a response via text message and also to try and confirm my appointment for the second time. Roman replied and said, "you are 100% confirmed". Moving day has arrived!!!!!! It's 9:20am and no movers!!!!! No phone call.... no texts....... I call Roman to ask what their eta is and he responded that the movers had a slight delay and are 30 minutes late. 10 minutes later... 9:30am, one of the movers from High Five Moving company called me to inform me there was some sort of accident and they were not going to arrive until 11:30am. Keep in mind I had their services scheduled in advance and had no back up plan. I was stuck and had no choice but to wait. I called Roman again and explained to him that his coworker reached out to me and informed that they are now 2 hours late and he said indeed, the moving business is in high demand, it's very unpredictable, and he simply was not ready to accept my phone call. Therefore, when the movers arrive we can talk about a discount from the original price they offered of what's posted on their yelp of $79 per hour. Well....... I waited !!! BIG MISTAKE 11:25 came around, I called Roman... again and asked what time they would arrive as it's 5 minutes before 11:30. He explained that the movers were en route and should be arriving within 10-20 minutes. I had enough, I cancelled their services! To no surprise, no customer service at all. He made no attempt to try and rectify the situation. No attempt to try to retain my business. He simply replIed by saying, " they are almost there, but if you want to cancel no problem, I am sorry about that". Needless to say, my moving day did not turn out as planned. I ended up renting a uhaul and doing the move alone. On the positive side, I packed and loaded my furniture the way I wanted and also saved over $300. I used these guys for a move from South Orange County to East Hollywood. Setting up the move was easy, I called and then we texted after that. We had been scheduled for 8am on a Saturday, but they ended up rescheduling to the afternoon that same day. They offered to take some time off for the drive since the traffic would be worse at that time, which was really cool. They were a little late but it's a long drive to South OC so I think that was to be expected! The move went really well, it was fast, easy, and they were careful in loading and unloading all my stuff. Hands down the best value you can get out there! High Five canceled on us the night before our move. They offered no compelling reason for the sudden cancellation. It sounded like they got a bigger job. Even more frustrating, this is cancellation came after we let them reschedule so that they wouldn't have to move us out in the rain. So so disappointed in this company. These guys are AMAZING! I just moved today and was downsizing from an 1100 sq ft apartment to a 650 sq ft apartment so there was quite a bit that needed to be tossed out in the dumpster.
