They are always up-to-date on their webpage if they're running late with service for whatever reason. They have these awesome locks that you can get added to your receptacle, why they are $10 apiece, I do not understand as I feel this should be a standard for Flagstaff due to how windy we are. The reason this is not a five star review is because on breezy or windy days, some items don't make it into the truck at pick up, and the driver doesn't go out and grab it like our previous provider did. Our neighbors across the street say the same thing! Our previous provider always gave dog treats to our dogs, and when I contacted Carrie to switch service, she said they did the same but we've never seen it and now it's to the point where the dogs don't even care when they see the JT truck pulling up. When they see our old providers truck, they come running, and they still have the same driver and he always stops at our house to give treats to our pups! Regardless of that, if you are not with a local company for your trash service, it's time to switch!

The new trash can arrived later that day, with no hidden fees, which was unlike all the startup costs associated with Waste Management. I neglected to put out my trash the first week and got a call from David, who was checking in to just make sure he didn't miss anything. I thought that effort was above and beyond what I would expect from anyone. I highly recommend JT waste. Last year, without prior notice they raised the price of the dumpster pick up from $42 to $152 per call, even though whenever I've called in the past, the pick up is scheduled for their regularly scheduled dumpster pick-up in the area, which does not cost them anything extra to pick up mine. There was no prior notification, other than a note on the invoice AFTER the service was provided giving me no chance to say no. Even worse, to cancel the dumpster service, they make you jump through hoops and send registered letters and even make you pay a $215 dumpster removal fee. Worst company to do business with ever!!! Stay local! In addition, you prepay for your service, so if you cancel, you're not getting refunded money for services not rendered. No matter how much you try, you don't get any money back. They put all their "contract notices" on the invoice that they charge you $5 to get so read that carefully.

For six months we enjoyed hassle free, professional service. Then we were informed that Waste Management had purchased NAWS and everything would be the same. However the first week we didn't have any waste or recycling disposal. Even tho I had placed the cans out the previous evening before the normal collection date. When I called I was immediately concerned by the pre-recording about the billing being screwed up after finally reaching a representative I was informed that I had never been a customer of NAWS. After awhile I called back that it was ridiculous to say I had not been a customer of NAWS, then I was told they located my account but I was not set up for recycling. So after that conversation I thought the problem was corrected. When the next week passed without the recycling can being emptied I called again. I was told I was not ever scheduled for recycling pick up and that I had never previously called. I said whatever and could I add recycling to my account. I was told someone would get back to me. After another week of no recycling service I called again. I was again told I had never called previously and someone would get back to me regarding my recycle collection date. In the meantime I received a brochure from WM about the company collection dates etc. Their was no key to decipher which week my residence would be so I left my recycling container out for two weeks to help determine which alternate week the recycling would be emptied. It was never emptied and no one ever returned my calls. So the following week they missed my regular trash collection day. I called the next day to establish service with the City of Flagstaff ( whom I know from previous experience to provide outstanding service) and called WM to cancel. I was told they do not issue refunds ( I had paid for three month in advance as was the policy with NAWS) so I replied " that no longer being a customer of a company implicated in the murder of Jimmy Hoffa was worth the loss of money " I recommend if at all possible to anyone that can and was previously a customer of NAWS to not renew their service agreement when the current one expires

In some cases the deficiencies come across as dishonest. My neighborhood endured so so so many missed collections. Skyline Waste is NOT reliable. Don't be swayed by their low prices and promises-- you will be disappointed. Just take a look at recent reviews... Okay, here's an update: My circumstance was similar to Denise V. (Feb 9th 2026). Skyline failed to auto charge us for over a year. Fast forward to late Jan '26, Kaitlyn calls and asks for us to pay the last ~14 months. She blamed the mishap on previous office staff not entering payment information correctly. But I couldn't help wondering why it has taken so long, and why they had not contacted us sooner -- they could have left a note after the second month. Anyway, even though it's really not the customer's problem that a company is unable to properly bill, I went ahead and paid the back log. Now three months later, they want to drop my entire road from their client list. Their reason our road is bad -- however, they inspected the road when we signed up and we were given assurances it would be fine (from Andy himself). I can't shake the feeling that they serviced us for the last couple months just to "buy" enough time to make the ~$600 autopay balance clear, then cancel our accounts. When I say it out loud it sounds scandalous. Again, pay attention to the reviews...

They missed picking up our trash twice so far. This last time, they were nice on the phone and assured us they would come get it the next day. Nope. The next day, nope. We asked to speak to a manager and were told that there isn't one. Debbie told us that she has "no way of knowing who the drivers are and can't contact dispatch". The company is a total mess of bad communication and there is apparently no one in charge. The final straw for us was when Linda called on Friday (after not picking up our trash for 5 straight days) and had the audacity to flat out lie and claim that the trash wasn't on the curb when the driver arrived. Horrible company!

Yesterday, I brought a load of yard waste to dump there (my first visit here) expecting the cost to be similar to the charges at the landfill (run by Waste Management). I have been to the landfill many times and paid around $20 for a trailer load. Patriot charges by size and wanted $160.00 for this trailer load of tree and bush branches! $160!! to dump some yard waste! It's criminal! I had to return the rental trailer within the hour, so had no choice but to pay their fee. Outrageous fees are being inflicted on citizens there. The city should step in and do something! Did I mention it was $160 dollars!
