Very disappointed. Flavor was there on the CFS but a bit tough, mashed potatoes cold, green beans were nothing like they were hyped to be. I expected southern slow cooked green beans it's onions and bacon but got sautéed while green beans in a Demi glacé of bacon flavored bouillon and still not much flavor. Could get better sautéed green beans at any Chinese buffet. Husband had the smoked fried chicken which I found delicious but he found lacking. The only saving Grace was the jalapeño cream gravy. Oh and hot rolls were dry and hard. Just passing through but if we were in town again wouldn't go. Can't recommend. It was prime lunchtime and there were only three tables and we were all travelers so guess you can tell why locals weren't there. read more

The atmosphere was very unwelcoming while waiting to be seated noticed a rack of silverware that was not clean. They didn't serve us rolls and when we asked for them they said they were out and they just had a large party of people. But they would see if they had any leftovers. Brought us cold rolls and when my wife asked if we could get some that were hot they said they were out. But as soon as other people came in they magically found some. This is the second time I've been here. I always try to give a restaurant a second chance and this was it. The service was good and have no complaints about that however the food was less than stellar. I ordered the breaded fish basket with hush puppies and french fries. The fish was not cooked and I should know better to order fish from a place that's not a "fish joint". The breading was the best part. The hush puppies were good and tasty. I enjoyed them. The French fries were cold and just your typical Sysco or US foods french fries. Nothing exciting. The meatloaf was recommended to me by the waitress and I should have listened but there's absolutely no excuse for uncooked fish. I probably won't go back. My first time in Paris and came upon this little gem. Cute rustic atmosphere, pleasant wait staff, and delicious food. I had the chicken tender basket. The dipping sauce was white gravy, which was delicious. The tenders were hot, tender, and amazingly tasty. Fries were ok, not fantastic, but a nice side to the chicken tender stars. I had the pot roast, baked squash and mashed potatoes. It was unreal delicious. Best meal I've had in a long time. Loved the decor and we had a great waiter plus the prices were very reasonable! Perfect experience for me and I can't wait to go back and try other entrees which will be a difficult decision since I loved what I had the first time. My wife had the chicken salad on a croissant and she said it was good but not great. We had 2 deviled eggs and amazing rolls too. I couldn't have been more pleased with my experience. We have intended to try them for some time, were in the area and made today the day. Both my wife and I ordered the chicken fried steak. Wife wanted chicken fried chicken but were told they ran out of chicken. The good part, our waitress did a good job. She checked on us several times. The not so good part, the rest of the experience. After waiting about 20 minutes after placing our order, the owner came out and told us that a large party was seated, they were behind and it would only be about another 10 minutes and our food would be brought out. 20 minutes later...the waitress came to us to say that she would check our meals. About 5 minutes later, she brought the meals. At this point, we were at the restaurant for about 45 minutes. The food was ok. The chicken fried steaks were too thick. Maybe they didn't pound them out. They were about 1/4" thick and chewy. Our sides were cold. Wife had the green beans, which she enjoyed. But, they were cold. We asked for the jalapeno cream gravy but received the regular cream gravy. My fries were served cold. The thing is, they didn't offer to improve our dining experience. No offer of bread, desert or discount our bill. The couple in front of us at checkout expressed they were disappointed due to the wait and that the food was served cold. The family seated next to us had problems with their order. I know there is a chicken shortage and it's hard to find people who want to work. I hope the work out the problems and can stay in business. read more

A restaurant located in an old home that had been converted into very homey atmosphere. Popped in for a quick lunch. Greeted by the owner and given a history of the beginning of the restaurant. So impressed by the meal and staff, returned that evening for dinner. Again, was not disappointed. So, returned next morning for breakfast and was served a very tasty breakfast by very friendly wait staff. I would highly recommend this restaurant. read more

Driving thru town & found this gem! Everything is home made (even the croutons on the salad) and delicious!! We all ordered something different and everyone cleaned their plates!! I have never been here before but have traveled a lot of the world. Yelp has been a great resource for me. I saw the southern comfort food and looked at the menu and my wife and I were in. We went there for dinner tonight and Brooklyn was our waitress. Very attentive and prompt answering our many questions. My wife loves pot roast and boy, what a pile of tender chunks in gravy was dished up to her along with a salad and mashed potato's . She was in hog heaven. I love fish and chips and chose the southern style dinner which came with perfectly cooked tender filet's of a fish i have never heard of before but it also was great and came with fry's hush puppies coleslaw and red beans and rice. I usually don't like that last one but these were the best I have ever had. Kind of like ranch beans with some rice on top. Yummy. Was intending to order the delicious desert but filled up on the more than ample meal. Brooklyn, keep up the great work and great success. We arrive at 10:30am. This review gets one star and that's because the food was half decent. The service on the other hand was terrible. We should've known the serves was bad when we first walked in. We waited at the front to be seated for 10 minutes as we watched the waiters walk by us several times ignoring we exist. We finally get seated and it takes another 10 minutes for any kind of service. So we are there a solid 20 minutes before we even got our coffee. We should've walked out at that time. Instead, we give them a chance. We placed our order the same time as the coffee order. We wait 45 minutes for our food. We were all out of coffee and had been for some time. We were trying to be VERY patient. We are now there for an entire hour when our waitress comes back and tells us our order was never placed and that she was "sorry" and asked if we would order lunch instead because their cook they have that makes the breakfast had left for the day. We would have walked out but our baby was fussy and was hungry. We no longer had time to go anywhere else so we order lunch instead. We wait another 30 minutes for our food to come out. The food was surprisingly good. We finish eating and the waitress brings out our bill and it's over $40 for the three of us. When I went to pay no one was around the cash register. I found two employees socializing at a near by table so I handed them the cash along with the ticket and told them to keep the change. It was 12:30pm when we finally were able to leave. Well, this place has potential, but not quite there. On a Friday evening the place was essentially empty. They were out of deviled eggs, the meatloaf was alright, baked squash not great, green beans overcooked, ribeye not very tender, salad was all spinach leaves and brought me the wrong dressing. We found this new place on Yelp passing through. The old house from 1911 was looking good & most of the wood inside came from a house built in 1865. We had the hamburgers which were very good & the fried pickles was a large serving & tasty.
