Like, yeah, it does come across as being one of those old school pubs, though it's like in the heart of Paris. It doesn't even try to look like an Irish or an English pub - it just basically likes like a bar, and that is it. Well, it was pretty divey, and sporty, but I suspect that that is the image that they were trying to build. Personally, I found it passable, but it certainly wasn't all that brilliant.

Margarita is le strong

I popped in here randomly for a drink. It is really close to gare du nord station. The staff do not speak English as well but were okay with working with my limited french. I sat outdoors and had a margarita. The drinks are so much stronger and better than the other bars nearby. The staff even gave me the wifi password which was nice. It's great if you want to pop in and have a drink before your train.

Let me describe my first night at Cafe Oz. We met up with some friends (and friends of friends),…read moreand we took over the huge table at the back of the bar. We had a few rounds, and the place wasn't very pack. The music was really good though (very American, which I didn't mind at all). But as the night went on, it got really pack, and somehow, it became a dance party! I was kind of surprised, but it was definitely very fun! The crowd and the vibe was good, not as creepy as all the other places that I've been to. This was definitely one of the best bars that I've been to in Paris! But the next time that we went there, it wasn't as crowded and packed. Maybe because we had so much fun on the first night there that we had very high expectations. But like all bars/clubs/etc., there are off nights. However, I still recommend checking this place out, and hopefully, whichever night you choose to go, it will be fun! :) p.s. This place is RIGHT off the metro station at Grand Boulevard. I believe you take the left station exit if I remember correctly. Once you get onto the street, the place should be right in front of you. p.p.s. I was really sad I discovered this place during my last week in Paris! Tu me manques Cafe Oz!

Dirty Dick is a very fun French take on a tiki bar in the middle of Paris' Montmartre area. It was good, but I'd say it wasn't crazy strong. My wife got the Miami Vice Negroni and we both thought it was meh. Being as you're in Montmartre, there are plenty of bars to visit. I'd definitely make Dirty Dick a spot to visit if you're doing a crawl.

I ordered the painkiller my first time around and it was perfection! The atmosphere of tiki music, Caribbean-inspired artwork and leis and tiki shields adorning the walls transported me to a beach in the Bahamas for a few minutes. We knew we had to come back our last night and did so! I ordered the Miami Vice Negroni and it was a complex drink. I still can't determine if I liked it or didn't. I got different sweet and bitter notes each sip. My husband got the extra grog strength drink and it was a hit! Do yourself a favor and come here! You won't regret the slight deviation from wine and champagne and enjoy the reprieve!
