This isn't our first experience with Hideaway Pizza we frequent the Stillwater location since my son goes to OSU. While we've always enjoyed the Stillwater spot, this McKinney location is truly spectacular! The rooftop bar is a standout feature and such a great addition to McKinney. It's a perfect spot to relax and adds a fun vibe we really needed in the area. This visit, we sat at the bar, and our bartender was incredibly attentive and friendly, making the experience even better. The meal was excellent as always--Hideaway consistently delivers on quality. The only downside (and it's a small one) is that they don't have fresh jalapeños, which we always enjoy on our pizza. Overall, this is a fun, family friendly spot that's definitely worth visiting. Fantastic pizza and a great place for dinner, staff members are always great and helpful

I had the pleasure of attending their soft opening today .. it included a free appetizer and menu item. I ordered the spicy fried pickles and thin crust pizza; they were both really good! The staff went above and beyond to make sure our needs were met. We sat at the bar and the bartenders were awesome. Mark, Micheal and Bryan worked the bar and they were very kind and informative. They were all awesome, but Mark was my favorite! I had the opportunities to meet the managers and the owners and they were awesome! Brett was even kind enough to give me a tour of the upstairs bar and patio. The atmosphere was pleasant and I loved the decor! I'll definitely be back! Went back for the grand opening today 9/9/24 and they were super packed but were well over staffed. We were greeted with big smiles at every corner we turned and by everyone who walked past us when we were sitting. The atmosphere was very positive, friendly, and well managed. They even gave the kids coloring sheets and a handful of pizza dough to play with while waiting on our food. The food and drinks were good and we enjoyed our view on the patio. Very friendly orientated and still had a nice separate bar area to enjoy drinks away and without kids. We will definitely be back! read more

Just left that place. Sat at the downstairs bar, and the two bartenders did an extremely bad job. We were ignored for a long time after receiving our drinks when we wanted to place our food order. Usually, I don't like to call servers over to request anything--I wait for them to do their job and ask me, the customer, "Do you need anything?" or "Are you ready to order?" But the girl serving us just walked past without even looking at us. The guy didn't make eye contact once during the 2+ hours we sat there--for just two small pizzas and two salads. That's right, it took over two hours because the kitchen was also extremely slow, and no one came to apologize for the delay. The two-star review is solely for the food, which was decent. Usually, I tip 20% because I was a server myself and understand the job, but even the less than 10% I left this time felt like too much. read more

We love Hideaway. We graduated from OSU so we have lots of experience with the original Hideaway and several others. We went on a Monday evening. The place was packed. The parking lot is not nearly big enough for the size of the restaurant. We struggled to find a parking place. We were seated quickly which was a pleasant surprise since there were 7 of us. Our waitress came and took our drink orders quickly which was great because we were at the end of Happy Hour. Took some time to get the drinks but not a big deal. The waitress finally came back and took our appetizer order. She took our menus too. We waited so long for our appetizers I thought maybe I had dreamed that we ordered them. When they finally came out they were awesome. We had fried mushrooms and cheese sticks. Both were really good and piping hot. Our food order was taken then but we didn't have menus so we ordered from memory. Since we've been a bunch of time to different Hideaways it wasn't a big deal but for a person who had never been it might have been difficult. It took really long time to get our pizza too. They were also really good and piping hot. In all, we were there for a little over 2 hours and we didn't stay after we ate. I know they have not been open long so I hope they get their service times better soon. read more

The restaurant is very clean and appropriately decorated for the vibe. My favorite part though was our server, Howard. His greet and history rundown of the restaurant made me feel apart of the experience. He seamlessly navigated my gluten intolerance with knowledge and suggestions. The mushrooms app was stellar. Both me and my husbands cauliflower and hand tossed crusts were out of this world. The menu is expansive and full of options. The topping selection is insane! Our party of four adults met here at 6:00 last night. Being Friday, we knew it would be busy. Since we agreed to sit upstairs on the patio, we got a table with no wait. From that moment on, the experience was a complete disaster. The bar was backed up. So, drinks are slow, but we could live with that. We were in no rush. However, our friends ordered a salad and a sandwich while my wife and I ordered two dinner salads and a pizza. We also ordered a take home pizza in advance for our kids who were coming home later that evening. Our friends entrees arrive along with our dinner salads. This is not how we requested the food to be delivered, but we were told the pizza was coming soon. They finished their meals and we still saw no sign of our pizza. We asked for a status and our server said that he was told "not to ask about pizza anymore because it was so backed up". Great message to share with your customers. We finally got the pizza delivered 45 minutes later. Also, we never got the "to go" order. We weren't charged for it, but that's no the point. You go out to eat with friends so you can eat together. When we were leaving, everything seems to be in shambles downstairs. The four girls at the hostess stand said that everything was a mess and that the "kitchen was a wreck". The patrons waiting to be seated inside and out front reminded me of passengers going down with the Titanic. It was total chaos. We're not first time diners here. This McKinney location seems to struggle while the Frisco location isn't as risky. I can't remember the last time I experienced a restaurant being so lost and out of control. Our daughter went to school in Stillwater. So, we are well aware of Hideaway's history and reputation. This location will single-handedly ruin that legacy. You would think that if you were going to operate in a market like North Texas, you would be able to it step up and handle the business. I recall how long it took for you all to open, all the staff trainings and the "soft openings" prior to your grand opening. Etc. All for what? Just to fail this badly on a Friday night? Get back in the pizza business and step up your game. Otherwise, you will be shut down. Quickly. read more

Hello! My family tried this place out on Friday evening (takeout). We were very pleased with the food! We ordered the Traditional Wings (Mango Habanero and Garlic Parmesan), a large Big Country Pizza, a small Paradise Pie Pizza, and a Chocolate Chunk "Sweetza" Cookie and a Caramel Chunk "Sweetza" Cookie. The first time I tried this place was via a takeout pizza order (from a delicious looking online menu) on an evening when a rapid 20 degree drop in temperature was taking place which meant that the drive-thru line/waiting area was full beyond capacity. So... I circled around the very packed parking lot to find a spot so I could go in and walk around to the back where the pick-up room was. I liked what I saw walking through. Lots of happy people eating and happy people enjoying the bar... all having braved the cold for a night out. The place is fairly new and very nice inside. Once I got home, I could see why people like this place and were willing to brave the changing weather. My made to order hand tossed pizza was fabulous. Ok for starters I love the upstairs outside area...great atmosphere! It is kinda loud but on a Sunday during football season, I kinda expected it. As for the food, it was just ok. The caesar salad we got to start with was very tasty and nice served very cold. As for the appetizers, pasta, pizzas and sandwiches we ordered....they were all good but nothing we absolutely loved. I asked the party I was with how they would review the place and a couple said they wouldn't be back based on the price. One said it was just so-so. This is such a cute pizzeria! There are kites on the ceiling for decor & their cute little mascot on the plates is a nice touch. The menu has lots of options. First week of the new Hideaway Pizza McKinney! We managed to get in for an early dinner Friday without a wait...surprising! The place is pretty spacious and has a sports bar feel. We were a little disappointed they didn't offer a military discount. Our server was pleasant enough, but not very good. After taking our order, we never saw her again until the bill arrived. No follow-up, and the manager had to refill our drinks. My wife tried their fried mushrooms which she thought were excellent.....light and crispy batter with good seasoning. I had the toasted cheese raviolis. Again, light and crispy but I would've preferred raviolis with a meat filling. Not bad though. We tried their sweet tea, but it was way too sweet to drink. We didn't know whether it was just a bad batch made by a rookie mistake, or a bad formulation. The real disappointment was the pizza. It was good....merely ok. There are much better pizzas available in McKinney, one right across the street! We might be back sometime to try their sandwiches or pasta, but not their pizza. And that's not a good sign for a pizza place. read more

As we had no clue about the happy dinner 4-7!!!! Monday thru Friday 50% off the bar menu or the lunch specials Monday thru Friday 11am- 3 pm 3$ off small pizzas ( you can go half and half on specialties ) or build your own , 2$ off pasta or 1$ off small salads.She was awesome at recommending appitizers and pizza .Dessert wasn't in the forecast as we had the fried ravioli and medium 1/2 pollinator,1/2 extreme . This was our first visit. Our waitress was patient, answered all our questions, and kept our waters full. The food came in a timely manner and was quite good. The pizza box was a great size and very well made. It would have been nice if our table had been cleared as we like to sit and chat once we finish.
