Apple cider iced tea with an apple cider doughnut on top!
Nykee L.

My pumpkin spice latte, loving boyfriend was drawn in by the sign. I wasn't going to get anything, but last minute I decided on a seasonal apple cider iced tea to wet my whistle. I was a little grumpy and off putt by the price tag because I'm super frugal. Well, let me tell you that the apple cider iced tea blew my freaking mind. Black tea, fresh pressed cider, real maple syrup, and cinnamon.... topped with a surprise apple cider doughnut! Pure heaven in a little plastic cup. I wish I ordered a bigger one. I was sad when it was gone. If I lived close, I would give them all of my money to make sure that's the only thing I ever drink again for the rest of my life. My boyfriend liked his hot pumpkin spice latte, but let's be real... That iced tea was the star of the show. Also, the nice man behind the counter overheard me tell my boyfriend that we had about 10 minutes before the parking meter ran out and he kindly informed us that we didn't actually have to feed the parking meter that we put all our quarters into already because they don't charge on weekends. So, we got to enjoy our treat while we walked around a little longer before having to drive home unafraid of parking tickets. He wants me to mention ambience... It's a small-looking corner shop that's surprisingly big inside. It was colorful and fun. Did I mention the apple cider iced tea? Anyway, go get some apple cider iced tea before the season ends and be happy.

So need some coffee while on the walking mall and stopped in. Have a great selection, prices are good and the coffee is great. Service was fast. Places is cozy and they made me feel like a regular. Will go to again.

This place seemed so pleasant through the lens of other reviews but when I arrived it seemed. Fine. The options for food are relegated to wraps and bagels. I went with a bagel sandwich and a croissant. The food took geological time to come out and then in front of me was a croissant sliced in half with cold butter next to it that refused to spread and a bagel sandwich. The bagel sandwich options were between "hot, hotter, and hottest." I've never been so let down by these three options since I got lost in a 3rd rate strip club with a 4th rate seating arrangement. The hotter option barely could be registered and the hot sauce was barely on even the egg of the breakfast sandwich. The tea was fine but it was over priced and scalding. Tea should never be steeped at boiling cause it burns the leaves. For all the pomp and circumstance of the beverage options here, it was a major letdown. I would go here to act like I was studying and then play video games on my laptop but not for the cafe itself at all.

This place has so many different types of espresso and coffee! They have food and coffee cocktails, but I only got a to-go coffee since we were already headed to brunch. Flavor (5/5): I got a small latte ($4.45) with almond milk and lavender (+$0.50). It was absolutely amazing! I've been on a lavender coffee kick for the past few months, trying them at every place I go. This place had the best one. It was sweet yet not too sweet, herbal yet not a garden, and frothy yet not all foam. It was perfect. I would come here every morning if I could. My friend got the large Breve ($5.55). He said it was too rich for him, but it was still made well. Price (5/5): I think the prices are reasonable for a coffee shop, if not on the low end. I'd happily spend $4.95 at a local coffee shop again vs a big chain. Service (5/5): Everyone there was absolutely sweet. One of them knew my friend, and they chatted about their coffee cocktails!!! Ambiance (5/5): This place screamed cozy, quiet, local coffee shop. They had a bunch of words on the walls to help with the vibe. They also had cute coffee items you could buy: cups, french presses, etc. I'd come back in a heartbeat!

It was alright. Looked like it would have been amazing but everything was mediocre. Cozy place inside to hang out, that's about it.

Always friendly staff. Good food. Fun atmosphere. And great cocktails! They also have gluten free options and take food allergies seriously.

I only regret not seeing the option for hot sauce before I place the order (ordering process was just that smooth). Loved seeing people come in and spoken to like friends. You can tell they care. Slightly awkward back and forth confirming my name, but I was pretty non-presenting and scraggy that day so it's understandable. Vegetarian options = Yup! (It's bagels of course) Atmosphere = Great Corporate Minimalism = Non-existent! Will definitely be coming back!!

We just wanted…read morea couple of bagels and some coffee, thought it would only take a few minutes but luckily we didn't have any coins smaller than quarters for the parking meter or we would have run out of time waiting. Walked in to the very small space and were told we needed to order online, so we got out our phones and scanned one of the many QR code signs posted on every surface anordered - two bagels, one with cream cheese and the other with butter. He confirmed he received the orders immediately- even before the payment had gone through. That seemed like a good sign. We waited and watched while he made salads and other orders for people who presumably ordered online before us, but didn't come in to pick up while we were there. Eventually he made our bagels, put them in cardboard baskets, covered them with aluminum foil (not sure why we needed that cardboard waste -- would have been happy with my bagel just wrapped in foil), covered them with paper towels, put them each in separate paper bags, and placed them on the counter while calling our names (even though we were the only people in the place and he had confirmed he knew who we were when he received the order). We took the bagels and walked across the street and got our coffees from the cute cat cafe with the friendly staff. Hit the road, and pulled out our bagels in the car. First bite was so bad that I tossed the rest of the bagel back in the bag... it was so crunchy it was more of a thick bagel chip, and shards of bagel stuck between my teeth like splinters. Certainly one-of-a-kind, I've never had another bagel like it. About 10 miles later I was hungry enough to get the bagel out and try again... this time I kneaded it through the aluminum foil a bit to bread it up first. It was still very crunchy and sharp, but there were some softer bits toward the middle. There wasn't much flavor, except where it was drenched in butter (and those bites tasted like butter, which isn't a bad taste I guess). TLDR, if you want bagels in Winchester WV skip this place and go to Sclafani's.

We were there Friday, October 2, in the three-person booth, the cozy room with the brick fireplace. He was spectacular, and patient, with my needs. Ohhhh my word Oysters with mignonette, mushroom caprese (polenta on the side), I had lobster roll on gluten free toast points, my friend had the fish tacos (& couldn't finish them- so much food), my husband had the bone-in steak (which was unbelievably perfectly seasoned & melt-in-your-mouth delish). The bill was about $120, which felt reasonable for the quality of the food. Unfortunately, the service really brought the experience down. Our server was clearly overwhelmed and had far too many tables. She was perfectly pleasant and seemed to be doing her best, but it took about 20 minutes before we could even ask for unsweetened butter for the rolls. The butter they initially brought was so sweet it tasted like buttercream frosting, which was not at all to my taste, and then it took another 10 minutes to actually get the replacement. I really wanted to love this place because the food was excellent, but this was a Monday evening. If the restaurant is this understaffed on a Monday, I can only imagine how much worse the service is on a busy weekend. As much as I enjoyed the food, I don't think I'd go back.

Our party of 13 arrived to discover that our reservation had not been communicated by the events planner, leaving the staff completely unaware of our group. Chef Tyler and Sous Chef Brandon truly saved the day! They stepped up, pulled everything together, and handled the situation with professionalism, grace, and smiles throughout. Our server was equally amazing! She single-handedly cared for all 13 of us, making multiple trips up three flights of stairs carrying trays, all while maintaining a fantastic attitude. Kudos to Union Jack's leadership for hiring such dedicated, hardworking, and genuinely wonderful people!
