Peter Wong is a disgrace ! Me and my wife came in for the first time and saw Peter. When we asked him questions about the procedure he was impatient and impolite ! He did answer our questions but with an attitude like those were dumb questions. It was a terrible experience and my wife decided to switch to Doctor Tran Phi, she is the other dentist at the same office. Doctor Tran Phi explained things in detail and with very nice manner. I am so confused as to how this place has the stars it does. First off, fall of 2020 this practice had no COVID procedures in place. No temperature taken, no symptom questionnaire, no hand sanitizer. Then the dentist TOOK OFF HIS OWN MASK to explain to me (also without a mask because I'm at the dentist!) that I had a "raging infection" in a molar underneath an old filling. This molar had never given me any pain or symptoms. He informed me that I'd need to start an emergency course of antibiotics and would need an immediate root canal. He then told me not to worry because if I was willing to drive out to Issaquah, his "buddy would hook me up with a root canal" for a mere nine hundred bucks but that I would have to pay cash. What!?! THEN when I got to the pharmacy to pick up the antibiotics I realized the RX given to me by the front desk was for someone else! I had all their private health info which is a decent HIPPA violation. I didn't feel right about any of it and got a second opinion from an different dentist and and an endodontist , both of whom seemed confused my Dr. Wing's diagnosis. I neither had a "raging infection" nor did I need a root canal. The filling did need replacing which required a crown due to it's size, but a year later and the tooth is doing fine. It should go without saying but I've learned my lesson: Groupon is great for lots of things... but probably not dentists. read more

I have had Dr. Peter Wong rescue my teeth on two occasions. He is the most knowledgeable Dentist I have ever had, and I found him and his practice when I needed it most. I came to his business two years ago after a new Dentist in Kirkland had done two really bad crowns and caused me a year of pain and suffering. Dr Peter replaced the crowns and repaired the damage that had been done by the other Dentist. Recently, I had a root canal performed by Dr Peter and he talked me through the whole experience. Dr. Peter Wong is incredibly rude and unprofessional. I was shocked at how he treated my mother and I with a condescending and rude attitude. I came in with a pretty bad broken molar. On first visit, another dentist/nurse made a root canal/crown plan and we paid a deposit for it. On second visit, Dr. Peter Wong (their head dentist) was our dentist and after a glance at my tooth he immediately said the tooth was not salvageable. Why such a big discrepancy from our first visit? We didn't refute his assessment as he's the dentist, and he hastily began cleaning the tooth. He was not gentle at all and didn't explain what he was doing to my tooth as he started sticking needles in. I was already scared coming in as my tooth was broken, and he made my anxiety much worse. When my mother asked to be in the room while he was cleaning my tooth, he said no because "when parents are in the room, kids act up". I'm a full grown adult and he knows that. Dr. Wong, I suggest you don't treat a full grown woman like a 3 year old child. Later while showing pictures of my cleaned tooth, Dr. Wong explained why my tooth was not salvageable. When my mother asked some basic questions, he quickly got defensive and said "I'm the dentist here so I think I know more about dentistry than you." What kind of medical professional says that to a concerned patient? I'm honestly so baffled that how Dr. Wong thinks he can retain and attract patients when he treats them with such disrespect. After my poor experience at Hidden Valley Smiles, I went to NW Dental where Dr. Buce was actually patient and provided a possible solution of guiding my wisdom tooth to the molar spot. It's not guaranteed to work, but at least Dr. Buce recommended helpful solutions with reasonable explanations and a positive attitude. I'm very glad I didn't continue treatment with Dr. Peter Wong. Spend your money elsewhere! I care about my teeth and I hope you do too, but Dr. Wong doesn't seem to. read more

My experience here stares off terrible. Beth, the manager, made efforts to make this better for me - which I appreciate. I no longer see one of the Wong brothers, as he was the WORST. He had seen me well over 6 times and kept trying to re-do fillings because the previous visits were never noted on his schedule. Poorest of organization, and he kept miss-pronouncing my name (that office KNEW me, and my damn name). The other Wong brother has been fantastic. Pictures below is the WONG brother you WANT to see. I really enjoy bringing my family here to Hidden Valley Smiles. Dr. Bill Wong, and his staff were very professional, and gave my family and I many treatment options. I always feel pressured at some of my previous dentists offices when I lived in California. After moving up here to Washington State, I was refered here by a friend. Dr. Wong utilizes some of the latest technology in Dentistry including a CT Scanner along with using surgical guides for his Implant Surgeries. I have referred many relatives here for their dental implants, and none of them complained of any post operative pain because Dr. Wong believes in using a surigical guide to place implants, cutting sugery time more than half. I went to Hidden Valley Smiles based on Yelp recommendations but unfortunately it was a big mistake. Their office currently wants me to cover about $200 extra than they quoted me for a misunderstanding with the insurance that THEY made. They keep insisting that the amount quoted was an 'estimate' only, but clearly the amount they want me to pay is over 100% off from the estimate. When I was here, they pushed for many unnecessary procedures (in my opinion). The dental work itself was fine, but nothing outstanding and much like the same I've had in other dental offices. This dentist is pricy and ridiculous, even with insurance, and I'd only recommend it to those who have tons of money to throw around. read more

I went in for the yearly check up. They suggested me to get a deep clean and other things like wisdom tooth removal and fillings. I opted to get my deep cleaning done and asked them to postpone the rest. Nevertheless they kept pushing me to opt for other items which I wasn't interested. Deep cleaning went well. No issues there. I've to agree with some reviewers! Getting help from "help desk" was always an issue. They were super interested in scheduling my next appointments but not so much when it came to answering my insurance/ billing related questions. I felt like they had no idea about how my insurance worked and kept sending claims to the insurance company. And here I'm, sitting in my house, receiving hundreds of letters about such claims and how they aren't approving most of them. When asked, they told me not to bother about those letters and it was a regular thing and not to worry. I was also told that I don't owe them anything but the letters keep coming with a balance. I really hope I don't get charged due to their inability to claim money and hope that they don't use the "estimate only" strategy later on. read more

I was a patient here, but because of insurance change, I was forced to use someone else as my primary dental care. However, I was looking into Invisalign and called Hidden Valley Smiles again. I came in for an initial consultation, which was free. Dr. Peter examined my teeth and showed me all sorts of before and after pictures. Their computer system also allows you to see the progress of your teeth from month to month and how many retainers you would need. My second appointment was to get impressions of my teeth with Dr. Bill. I've heard horror stories about people gagging while getting the impressions, but mine was easy and gag free. To my amazement, this appointment was also free. On top of all the great care I've received, I was also informed that they scale their Invisalign pricing according to the number of retainers. Most places will have discounted pricing for express Invisalign, which is for people who can finish their treatment within 5 months. If you are in the 6 months range, then the price doubles to what a regular Invisalign would be. With the scaled pricing, I pay for what I use. This place gives exceptional service and it's affordable even without ortho insurance. read more

After trying 2 other dentists in the area I did what I knew I should have done in the first place. Got some referrals. And to the Hidden Valley I went. Fantastic: Usual dentist experience: 4 x rays, a little poking, a cleaning, and you're done. Hidden Vally: 13 x-rays, one's pointed up, down, rightwards, leftwards Photos of all teeth with special tooth cam Obligatory poking prodding, then a slide show showing exactly what is happening. (Who knew fillings need to be replaced) Then, and this is my fav part, a nice breakdown of insurance coverage estimates, etc. So you know what the bill will be before you schedule your work. For the past 10+ years, my entire family has seen Dr. Bill Wong and his wonderful team. I cannot say enough positive things about this dentist & office! There was a time when my family was under-insured because of a layoff at work. Dr. Bill made sure to continue treating my entire family-even without insurance and even when it meant his coming into the office on his days off!! Who does this? Dr. Bill does. He truly cares. Another time, my wife's crown popped off her tooth during a weekend. I was able to reach Dr. Bill on a Sunday and he personally messaged me saying: "have her come in first thing tomorrow morning. I'll take care of her, I promise." - I mean, who does this? Dr. Bill does. I'm not sure what the 1-star comments are so angry at, but here is why I love this place: There WAS a time once, a long time ago, when the front office person made my wife feel badly about a billing issue. It was during that same time when we were struggling from the layoff and funds were tight. When my wife came home and told me about it, she was in tears. I called the office and Dr. Bill got on the phone with me and we talked about the issue for a long time. He spoke with the employee (she doesn't work there anymore) and called me back -- more than once -- to personally follow up and let me know how he was handling it. THIS is the kind of dentist I want to go to. Nobody is perfect, so when they got it wrong (probably 4+ years ago) he took care of it and made certain I was satisfied. To me, it's all about trust and feeling truly cared for. You can find good/competent dentists everywhere you look. But how many of those dentists truly CARE about your family as if it was their family? Only Dr. Bill & his team do. They know all our kids' names. They remember our interests and ask us about things in our lives. Truly - this office is more like my family than my dentist. I didn't get paid a penny to write this review, but now I know why my sister recommended me to Dr. Bill probably 10 years ago. She sees him as family too. read more

I'm writing this as the numbing agents are starting to wear off on the left-side of my face haha I went in last week for a check-up and it's been like 5 years since I saw a dentist so I was nervous. The staff was busy so I came in just for x-rays and for the doctor to take a look at my teeth and guess what he found? 9 cavities. WAH!!!! I was so shocked and automatically images of needles and drilling tools popped into my head. Dr. Peter is so friendly, assuring and informative as he shows you pictures of each tooth on the computer screen - they have this awesome tool that looks like a laser light tool but it's actually a camera that takes very clear pictures. He then points out and explains the things he sees in the pictures-he then pointed out all the cavities I have, how deep they are and what the action plan was. The high-tech tools are very impressive but I'm definitely more impressed by his knowledge and ability to explain everything so that it's easy for me to understand. I came back to get 2 of the 9 cavities filled and did not feel any pain whatsoever during the process. I don't know if my dentist from 5 years ago is outdated or if technology and procedures have just changed a lot, but I like how they had mouth gears (I can't think of the proper words) that isolate the teeth that need to be worked on and block/wall-up the tongue and the rest of the teeth. First off, believe the reviews: this place rules. My first appointment here I was running wicked late, (very contrary to my customary thirty minutes early to everything). They were understanding and were able to take x-rays and colour photos in a flash, and rebooked me for the visit with the dentist immediately. I work close by, and they put my on a call-list to update me if any sooner availabilities cropped up. This has NEVER been offered to me before at a dentist's office, nor any other appointment-setting.... Ever. They called me the next day and booked my hygienist time for right after my appointment with Dr. Peter Wong. Friggin' perfect. Did I mention that the assistants, reception, and dentists here also obviously love their jobs and appear to be just nice, real people? Such a vast difference than all of my previous experiences in dentistry. I saw Dr. Peter Wong here, and he was thorough, immediately recognised my needs and assured me that my fillings procedure will not require a shot (this is very important to me). I look forward to being able to build a long relationship with this dentist's office, because, goshdarnit: I really trust them.
