    Sunday brunch

Really a local's place in SOMD. It literally is down gravel road located in a marina. Caution if riding your motorcycle there as the road is somewhat in questionable shape. Don't seat yourself. One of the folks working g there will greet you and seat you. We usually sit outside during the warm months and sit inside by the window in the cooler months. We usually get the Chesapeake Bennie. It has lump crab on it. Home fries as a side. They do have Bloody Marys and mimosas available if you want to class it up for brunch. Hand written tickets and pretty good local vibe. Recommended while in Solomons Island area. You gotta travel up by the Ruddy Duck to get there. Don't go to Solomons Island pathway unless you have a boat or paddle board.

Updating my review since we've been several times since our first visit and have tried other menu items. Lately I've been ordering the Harbor Salad and the Caribbean corn as a side. The jerk chicken that comes in the salad reminds me of authentic Jamaican jerk. The Caribbean corn has become my new favorite item, it reminds me of street corn from Mexico but with a jerk style seasoning. My husband and I also enjoy the deviled eggs, avocado crab salad and conch fritters. Today my husband tried the Cuban Reuben and said it was delicious. The homemade chips they serve are awesome. The staff is wonderful, and everyone is so nice. Today our server gave us some recommendations to try on our next visit. For cocktails I'm a fan of their Bloody Mary but my husband raves about the key lime crush. Another great thing about this place is how affordable it is. It doesn't look like much on the outside but it's easily one of the best restaurants in SoMd. I recommend sitting outside for the view.

Another great find on Yelp! After a morning of exploration at Solomon's Island, we headed out to grab some lunch. Originally, my sister-in-law wanted to take us to one of her go-to spots, but she overlooked the hours and we arrived to an empty parking lot. Turned out that they only opened for dinner that day. Jumped on Yelp and it found us Hidden Harbour that was nearby. The restaurant located in Calvert Marina. It really is hidden, so just hang tight until your GPS brings you there. You'll see a pool to the left by the parking lot and the restaurant by the water. - Parking - Private lot. - Vibe - There is both indoor and outdoor seating, but there is limited seating indoors. I took a peek inside and a family was seated there already and there would have been no room for our party of 7 to sit together. I highly recommend the outdoor seating anyway, because most of the tables are on their deck, equipped with a parasol umbrella and the views are spectacular looking out at the water with all the boats on the marina. - TLC - We had an older lady who was trying her best to keep us happy while we waited for a table. She took our drink orders and even offered to take our food orders while we waited. She came to check on us often and was especially nice to our kids. - Eats/Refreshments - My SIL and I share the love of food and she makes a great dining partner. She wanted to try a couple of things as well, so we decided to share our meals. Jerk Shrimp App - The shrimps were cooked nicely and the flavor was surprisingly jerk-y for a non Jamaican/Caribbean restaurant. It was fantastic, served with a side of cocktail sauce. It was a good portion for the price and our kids stole a couple of pieces and seemed to enjoy them as well. Admiral's Club - We were immediately drawn to this sandwich because listen to this...it had a crab cake, shrimp salad, bacon, lettuce and tomato on a potato bun. Yes, please! It was a great combo of the cake and salad and what isn't good with bacon? The lettuce and tomato added a fresh element. The only thing I was disappointed with is the size of the crab cake. I just expected it to be a puck size like most places being in Maryland and all, known for their blue crabs, but that might be just me getting greedy. My niece who is almost 12, ordered a customized burger on a pretzel bun. This burger has a 9oz patty and she devoured all of it! My husband had one of their burgers and seemed to be satisfied. - Kiddos - Mac and Cheese with Fries - They use shell noodles for their Mac and it tasted more like cheese sauce than cheese, but no complaints from my Little One. Served with a side of french fries and a pickle. Chicken Tenders with Fries - The tenders were nice and crispy, served with a side of fries also. - Heads Up - There are no bathrooms at the restaurant. You have to walk over to the parking lot and into the pool house, which was kept pretty clean. The temps have been pretty high up here this week, but it turned out to be a nice hot day, but not as humid to eat outside and Hidden Harbour was a great find to do just that!

This is a great place t goto from land or by boat, not a large eating area but very nice and you get to sit out of the sun under a huge shade tree. I had the Island burger with the spam on it kind of gave it a sausage flavor the sandwich also came with onion rings and bbq sauce and chips. Make sure you get the HoBo beans they are wonderful kind of have a little sweet taste with a little chili flavor but they are very good. also had the Harbor burger and Cuban Ruben that was good as well.

Not too bad of a view?

Great Location and nice menu. BUT 45 minutes awaiting appetizers of chips and deviled eggs is a JOKE. Especially since it's 2pm and its a slow Saturday. Then our sandwiches are another 15 minutes. AND since they scratch make Everything then you should expect a slower pace, enjoy the water. The catfish Po Boy was one of the best I have had in the US. The eggs and chips are also rocking. Yummy yummy but a slow pace.

They roast their own coffee! Wow! Yum!…read more On a weekend morning (Jun 2026), we were in the vicinity of Solomons MD, and friends said that Bugeye Grill roasts their own coffee. That got our attention! We stopped in at this bright clean restaurant on a late weekend morning, (weekdays they open at 5pm). The French-press coffee was a tasty fragrant medium Brazilian blend. The flavor was well balanced, and it was a good smooth non-acidic coffee We found it to be a creamier fragrant brew, not a darker roasty flavor. It had a lightly malty sweetness and nuttiness, characteristic of its blend of Brazilian arabica, robusta, and hybrid beans. They have different blends from time to time. They really are a full-menu restaurant terrific views of Back Creek, and a midscale-classy vibe. They focus on seafood and steaks and lobster! We saw sandwiches around $20. This time, we came for the coffee. It was luscious!

The restaurant had a nice variety of dishes and specialty cocktails...I think that I was more interested in the latter. ;) Since I have not visited Solomons, MD before, I cannot comment if the prices are comparable to other places in the area. However, most of the entrees were in the $25 and up range. I thought my fish and chips (I forget the actual name of the dish) were fine, and my spouse really enjoyed the crab cake sandwich. Although I thought the portion sizes for the sandwiches and fries were fine, the serving size of the mussels seemed a bit small. However, this could have been an optical illusion because the serving bowl for the mussels was HUGE, so the amount of mussels could have appeared to be smaller than what it was. I thought the outdoor patio was great especially with a view of the water and folks going about their business. However, some may not like the setup because you are right on the main street, which can be a bit noisy especially if a lot of bikers are cruising up and down the strip. Parking was a bit of a struggle (not the fault of the restaurant). During our visit, all of the public parking lots were full. However, we visited on Mother's Day weekend so maybe there were more folks (including us ) in the area than normal. I'll admit that since this was my first time visiting the area that I'm not too familiar about the ebb and flow of parking. Overall, our server (who reminded me a bit of a young Jodie Foster) was amazing. One thing that I really appreciated was her telling us about a potential delay for the food due to a large party. Although no one wants to hear that after ordering food, I think it's nice and considerate when a server provides a heads-up so diners can adjust accordingly.

They were good sides - nothing special, necessarily, but I appreciated that the fresh veggies still had bite to them. All in all, a great meal for very little money. Happy that I stopped in and, if I'm ever in the area again, I'd be happy to stop by again.

The steaks were were all hit or miss. I ordered medium rare and it came out well done on outside and rare inside, like they took the steak and put an iron press on it to hurry the cooking. The medium steak came put MR and the other MR steak came out medium. The good thing about it though is they were still juicy. The mushroom topping was very salty which made the steak salty tasting. The fries, rice, and sweet potatoes were very good. Sweet potatoes were a bit small but not too bad. The salads were definitely small to me. Wish they had a bit more on the plate. If you have heart problems I wouldn't recommend eating here due to the amount of salt in everything, especially any type of vegetable. Wish the steaks were cooked how we asked but overall experience was good.

I decided to try it out and will say the view is great but the food itself was lacking. Firstly, I'll talk about the place. It's an easy drive to get too, but it's a bit secluded since you have to get to the water. It has a small parking lot, but shouldn't be a problem. The place is relatively clean and well spaced out. The servers are very nice. They ask if you want to sit inside or outside in case you want a better view of the water. The food is what I was looking forward to. The table ordered the crab dip as an appetizer. It came with crackers and bread and was pretty good. But the dip was mostly filler and I didn't feel like it had enough crab in it. I ordered the Basket and had 2 crab cakes and 3 fried shrimp. The shimp was well seasoned. However, they fry it with the shell on. This means you'll be spitting out shrimp shell as you bite into it. The crab cakes were actually delicious - very flavorful and filling. We also ordered rockfish for the table. I understand it's a white fish, so when it would fall apart in my mouth I knew it was way overcooked in the fryer. Each piece would desintegrate in my mouth and only leave behind a clump of soggy batter. Overall, I don't think the food is good. If all you want to order is crab cake then this place is golden. Otherwise, maybe only come to see the nice view of the water and the bridge.

Then we ordered 2 grilled cheese and ham sandwiches and a cheese burger. It took at least 40 minutes to deliver our food. We were about to leave, but waited a few more minutes since we would start again with ordering at another restaurant. After the 40 minute wait, a regular ham and cheese came out for my husband, a cheeseburger came for our son, and for me a grilled ham and cheese with tomato came out with the bread burned so much, I couldn't scrape off all the char. I finally took it back and they brought the same sandwich back to me saying they wouldn't charge for it (like go ahead and eat the carcinogenic toast anyway). They said they had no more ham I said bring me a grilled cheese and tomato sandwich. I finally got the sandwich, but they forgot the tomato. I was just so happy it was not burned. I do not recommend. Ambiance is a cheap diner, but the food is not cheap. For 3 adults we paid $44.00. The grilled cheese sandwiches were cheap, but the cheese burger with fries was pretty expensive. And 2 ice teas for $7.00, which seamed a little high for a hole in the wall. I wish I took a photo of the burned grilled cheese.

Okay well how about we take 3$ off the price of the combo since you are out of pancakes and we'll just order a side of toast for 1.50 so you lose almost two dollars on that meal????! So then I order an omelette which comes with one choice of meat and three additional toppings and asked if we could put the sausage on the side instead of in the omelette to which again she replied 'chef' does not like changes to the meals. So I said, that's fine I'll just pick it out. When it comes out, all it is, is two sausage patties whole (see pic) laid in the omelet and folded over... well, I guess it just made it easier to pick out. I'm still confused...
