Just Ride - Taking a break in the lake at Treetops Park.

Just Ride

Was in search of a horseback riding experience to gift my dad for his birthday. Had a good…read moreimpression of Just Ride from the moment I checked out the website. The booking experience was super easy, and everything I could possibly want to know beforehand was written out clearly. (I hate when websites have no info and just say something, like, call Bob at xxx to book now) On the day of, John greeted us at the end of the property's driveway, which I appreciated, as my dad can get lost easily going to new places. My parents and I rode horses in their late teens/early 20s, and they were very kind and well-trained. Our guide was Mayann (sorry, if I'm spelling wrong), and she was friendly and knowledgeable. My mom is very petite and maybe the least confident rider out of us, so Mayann offered to have her horse clipped to my mom's for the ride, which made her feel more comfortable. The experience is pretty pricey for an activity (my total was $314), but I imagine it can't be too far off from other ranches. Plus, we all left feeling like we had a really good experience. Compared to another ride we did years ago elsewhere, this one was so nice. The trail loop around Treetops Park is very shaded and secluded. It really feels like you're in the forest on a casual ride with your horse. I also appreciate that the staff takes photos for you during the ride, and that they were kind enough to chat with us and let us hang out with the animals afterwards. A different riding experience we had years ago had us ride senior horses next to a canal and the street. It was out-and-back style with no scenery except the cars driving by. There was 0% shade, the property felt claustrophobic and the only photos I have of the experience are ones my dad took of me in the tiny corral. I would definitely recommend Just Ride and stop your horseback riding research here. Compared to others, the staff here makes the experience professional yet personable, and you can tell the horses here are very well taken care of.

I found this place through Google. I was able to book a ride for May 19. When I arrived at the…read morepark, John texted me where to meet, and he was there when I parked. He gave me a wonderful shorter horse as requested. After signing a waiver, I was able to mount Sergio, and have my stirrups adjusted too. We rode at Treetops Park, a scenic park in the Davie area. My horse was docile and responded well to my reins and commands. The ride was very nice as we got to take a small break in the lake, and even see a tortoise. There were ample opportunities to trot and canter when safe, and my horse had no issues going at a faster pace. The ride lasted an hour. After our ride, we dismounted and the horses were unsaddled to enjoy. While the ride was quite expensive at 99 per hour, it was well worth it due to the private ride, excellent treatment of horses, and the freedom to go at your own pace. I am so happy I found this place as this is much better than the place I rode last year. It is worth the splurge to pay more money for well treated horses and a more personalized ride. I can easily recommend Just Ride.

I purchased a groupon for Double Flush Stables and contacted them via text (as instructed on the…read moregroupon) I got an automated response stating all the [strict] rules then proceeded to schedule a date. Groupon's are not accepted on the weekends and so we only had weekday options. They get booked up fast and the earliest availability was one month out. On the day of our ride, we got a text an hour before the scheduled time stating our ride was cancelled due to the possibility of thunder storms. We tried to reschedule our ride for a closer date however it got pushed back another month. The stables had beautiful horses and other animals like goats, pigs and cows. We arrived a few minutes late and so we had to pay $20/ea to ride the horses. We rode the horses down a beautiful path in a park however we barely took pictures because we were told if we dropped anything the guide would charge us $20 for each time she had to get off the horse to retrieve the item. The trail ride was supposed to be 75 minutes but it was cut short. According to their rules, the wait time is deducted from the ride. We were 10 minutes late, and so we expected a 65 minute ride. We ended up riding for 45 minutes, so they actually deducted 30 minutes from the ride. I enjoy riding horses, therefore I enjoyed my time but I would not go back nor would I recommend these stables to others solely based on their lack of customer service. My advise to them would be to be more lenient. Smile. Don't be so abrupt, it definitely took away from the fun.

1st and foremost they hit their horses. And I mean HIT their horses . Secondly the place is an…read moreabsolute dump. 3rd the owner is so brash , she doesn't have the 1st idea of what even good manners are . Let alone good customer service . I used to bored just horse here. For about 2 1/2 weeks. Within 24hours I came back to him with a lump on his neck the size of a softball. I made it clear if I ever found out anyone put their hands on my horse , we'd have a serious problem . I was worth more their than my weight I'm gold. Those that knew me, would attest to that. The owner's boyfriend got caught almost cheating with a woman that was kicking it to me as well so I told her to kick rocks. The dude got aggressive with me over "his customer " who bought 2 lessons from them in their lifetime, not to mention , even as a full board , mucked all the stalls in my barn from time of inception. Oh and apparently he wanted steroids from her as well. 2 real winners Their MO is to "seize your horse" , should you not pay, or try to call the cops on you for things you didn't do. Stay far clear if these people if for no other reason , then the fact that they hit their horses alone. And I'm sorry to tell ya double flush, beating your horse into obedience doesn't make you a trainer , it makes you an abuser . Don't get it twisted
