Petting donkeys
Vince V.

We have been aware of Davie Ranch for years and never made it before today. Without being overbearing they seem to think of making things very easy and seamless. We bought tickets online. One of the reasons we didn't visit before was that admission is charged for both kids and adults. We paid $20 for our son and $10 for us, mommy and daddy. In hindsight it's fully worth it. I was able to try activities I've never participated in such as archery but even just walking around would be worth the price of admission. The staff was very accommodating from the people directing us to park, the greeters/admission staff, to especially the people that ran the activities or supervised the animal encounters. There wasn't a single person that was unpleasant. Stand out people were Tray (I think that's his name) who helped people on and ofc the hayride and gave tons of history and useful information. The lady we spoke to at the stables as we helped groom horses was helpful and gave us additional informations and even provided rubber bands to help with the braids we made in the horse's mane. All staff was abundant and it really stood out that they were all pleasant. No one was on their phones or looked bothered to make themselves available. For example, there were 2 people at the cup line which felt reassuring. It's so rare to find younger staff that interacts in a pleasant way. Even if I do my best I can't come up with anything negative. I loved trying archery and I loved that my son got to ride horses, pet ponies, donkeys, chickens, pigs, and many more animal friends. There were a ton of areas to stroll around and play. Lots of stuff to swing or climb. I picture this place in weddings and cannot believe it's kind of hidden in a city area. There is a lake that is used for summer/winter/other camps. We will surely be back and may think of sending our son for the times school is closed (and we are off, since we don't live here). If we lived closer he would go here all the time. What a beautiful place with beautiful people running it. The surroundings. Wood fire smell, and cool buildings make this a calming place to hang out for a few hours.

The staff member was very friendly and informative.

Davie Ranch is such an amazing place to go with the entire family! Price is very reasonable. Kids $15 Adults $10. When I got there it was not crowded at all. My kids rode the horses many times. Even I rode a horse for the first time in my life!!!! I was a little scared but the staff was so helpful that immediately made me feel safe and it was an amazing experience! The hay ride was very educational and interesting! My family and I will definitely be coming back and highly recommend this place!

Great party place. So much outdoor space, a great place to detox from the daily usual TV etc etc. Unwind and relax. Super friendly staff. Great place for kids.

I was hired to be a photographer for a 50th birthday party at this venue and it was my first time visiting this ranch. Even though I've lived in the area for 25 years, never knew that this venue existed and it had it all. Beautiful location and great space for any party. The adults had fun with live salsa band on a stage big enough to accommodate four of them including singer and their instruments. There was great dance space area, a lot of the country decorations were a very nice touch to see horses in their stable and other live animals including rabbits, chickens, lovebirds and more. The staff were nice enough to even let the kids be able to pet them and give a tour on the horses. Overall, seems like a great venue for all ages, plenty of space/parking, and highly recommend for anybody who is looking for an event venue space in the area. The party was Havana nights themed and it worked well, would also recommend for those looking for a western theme party. Davie Ranch has it all!

If you are looking for the perfect location for a birthday party for small children, between 2-6 this place has it going on. With amazing customer service, they greet you at the gate and help unload your car, with little direction needed set up the entire party area with all your decorations, clean up, and help you put everything back in the car! And that's just set up and clean up. The grounds are beautifully kept up and so are the animals! In the front are the horses and ponies. Since they offer riding lessons there is a wide selection of saddles and bridles. The trainers are quite knowledgeable about the different types of riding gear. For the purpose of this birthday, they had the ponies all ready to go, all the children needed was to pick out a helmet. The petting zoo is one of the best I've ever been to. Clean and looks like a learning center with wood tables and stools. It is also closely monitored. Outdoors they have a huge tree house, the kind you are on the show Tree House Masters. The kids all loved it and the tree swing. The owners also had a bounce house and bounce slides. It was a great party!

My husband and I had our wedding reception at this beautiful ranch 01/23/16. The barn was clean and decorated perfectly. The animals were an extra treat. I know the guests loved seeing the horses, rabbits, dogs and goats around the Ranch. Megan and her staff at the ranch were great and very accommodating to our big and rowdy crowd. We did have a large party of about 140-150 people. The caterer, which we got through the ranch, was great and there was more than enough and delicious. We did hire our own band, The Uproot Hootenanny, which rocked it and kept everyone on the dance floor. I really could have not have asked for a more beautiful place to have this type of party. We have not stopped hearing how "this was the best wedding reception they have ever been too!" If your looking for a unique party venue for any occasion look no further. You will not be disappointed. But again thank you to The Davie Ranch, Megan, and their staff!! Cheers!

This family owned farmers market is in it's own small building. It was very interesting to me because this is the first place I found that sells raw milk. It is not something I personally drink but advocates claim that the pasteurization of milk destroys the nutrients, enzymes, and good bacteria. Benefits of raw milk may include more nutrients, improved digestion, and enhanced immune function. Others believe that the benefits are outweighed by health risks associated with consuming raw dairy products. The raw products sold here state they are not for human consumption. In addition to raw milk they also sell raw milk kefir, raw yogurt, raw cheese, raw butter, and raw milk ice cream. Other products they sell include organic produce grown in Southwest Ranches, local honey, hormone free and grass fed meat and seafood, farm fresh eggs, bath and beauty products, bread, and fresh made key lime pies. Staff was on hand to helpfully answer customers questions. I do believe that food is medicine and that it can heal you. This market subscribes to that philosophy. It is a niche for people who don't mind paying more to know where there food comes from, want clean ingredients, or are into a particular lifestyle choice. If you are looking for a large selection or inexpensive prices, this is probably not for you but I enjoyed my visit.

I used to volunteer here years ago, and while I don't know how much has changed since then, I'm…read moregoing to be the one to speak up about my experience so others don't face the same thing as I did. First of all, the entrance to drive there was awful. The ground would get muddy and wet when it rained, and it would create huge floods to drive through. It would also have a lot of hidden stuff, like nails, which caused my mother's car to get a flat tire because they never checked the entrance at all. So if you do drive there, be extremely careful. Second, all the people in charge were classist and rude. If you were rich with money, they'd make sure you were given free food, a horse to ride, and lots of other benefits. They would provide free meals and treats all the time for them only; however, those who didn't have money like that didn't get to enjoy the same privileges unless one felt generous in the moment and offered us scraps. If you weren't rich, they would look down upon you and ignore you, even mistreat you if they wanted to, for absolutely no reason. They would only tell us all to "get back to work" if they caught us stopping to watch them while they ate all their free treats and meals in a huddled group like pigs. Third, speaking of mistreatment, they got very jealous of anyone that had experience in taking care of horses (like me), and they often took out their anger on them because apparently having experience and knowledge in the area, and going above and beyond to help care for the horses, correlated to "going against the rules and causing trouble". They would yell and shout at you, even downright insult and degrade you, which is terrible. Nobody should ever go through any of this at an animal rescue and sanctuary, and I didn't appreciate the mistreatment and inequality that I saw. I left because of all of that, and don't recommend it. At all. I love horses and love caring for them, but this place is not a place to make "friends" unless you're rich with money. Take my advice and go find another sanctuary to volunteer at to care for rescued horses. They might deny what I said, but believe me when I say they're not good people at all. Edit: While I don't remember who did it and whether it was a regular volunteer, a sponsor, or someone who owns the place, I remember that a person harshly and intentionally slapped the face of a horse that innocently turned its head towards him while he was caring for it. Not okay in any way or form, and it makes me wonder if other animals are getting abused in any way or form without anyone knowing. Second edit: Second edit: Now I remember, it was the sponsors they treated better because they had money compared to the regular volunteers. I forgot for a moment what they were called but now do.
