Ilene Lieberman Botanical Garden was named for Lauderhill community leader Ilene Lieberman. She…read moreserved as a council women in 1984, mayor in 1988, and as a Broward County Commissioner in 1996. The garden is a small sized at only two acres. Although they didn't have a lot of land to work with they maximized what they had. The garden has an outdoor amphitheater that seats 40 people. There is also a gazebo, a tot lot playground, and an observation deck. Throughout the park there a walking trail, botanical gardens, and public art. The city of Lauderhill uses the park to stage events like the Jazz Picnic in the Park. This park provides a welcome green space in the middle of the city where the community can exercise, play, and gather together for events.

This was another great experience with my Coconut Creek community at the annual cultural festival…read moreArtsfest. It is held indoors and out at the community center on Lyons Road. Thankfully the rain held off until late afternoon. This years theme was Mexico. The festival opened at 10 AM with a parade of nations. Entertainment was held at the outdoor bandshell and included a mariachi band performance and the Folklorico Dancers. Both the musicians and dancers were very talented. Kids could make sugar skull masks, glitter maracas, and a cactus paper craft. There was also a scavenger hunt, storytelling, and a magic show for them. Many kids were also playing on the playground and at the splash pad behind the community center. Adults enjoyed the art show and hand made items for sale in the auditorium. There were a couple of food trucks and a tent selling Mexican food, drinks, and desserts. Inside the lobby was a Mexico history display. This was the 9th year of the festival and it has a free admission. This is just one of the many nice free events Coconut Creek puts on for residents throughout the year. Parks and Recreation does a great job with their family friendly events making it just one of the many reasons I love living here.

I was not thrilled that they moved it from Fort Lauderdale however I will say there was plenty of free parking, which is nice. It was a great show as usual. The juried orchid exhibits were magnificent. A few other attendees pointed out to my mom and I that the orchids were fragrant which was not something I've experienced a lot. There were some new vendors this year selling plants that were not orchids. My mom bought a plant that was growing from a round ball covered in moss. Very cool!

Some of the artists they represent are Diego BA, H. Gamero, Will Concord, Michael Jude Russo, Julio Cesar, Lukas Mora, Lonnie Finkelstein, and others. My favorite sculptures were the recycled metal used to make animals. Art Outfitters has a cozy indoor lounge area with couches, smaller pieces of art, and board games. It is the perfect place to enjoy your drinks and treats from Cleopatra or take it out to the garden where you can explore the large sculptures. You can't go wrong with either. After you finish there is a wonderful consignment store called Decades right across the street. I love what they are doing with this area of Ft, Lauderdale.

WOW what an impact this was for me as I could not breath because of my nerves,and some how she was able to calm me down. What an incredible person . Im sorry i cait remember her assistance name but, right before i had to walk down the isle she ran to a family member of mine got the key to the car ran and got my eyeglasse and handed them to my maid of honor just in time.Now that is what i call team work and going above and beyond. These people are amazing !!! Overall supper satisfied,and highly recomend them and will be using them in the near future for family members and friendsr!!

Restrooms were easily accessible, and the staircases made for great photo opportunities. Even though the event was held on the second floor, accessibility was effortless thanks to a convenient elevator, making it easy for elderly family members and guests with disabilities to fully enjoy the celebration. The 4H organization was talking $5 donations for parking. That is a wonderful organization that teaches children about frowning plants and raising animals. Definitely a good cause.
