All this time I was missing out on a fantastic botanical wonderland with native perennials and a superb variety of pollinator plants. I've been creating a pollinator garden and word of mouth everywhere was to visit Prickly Ed's to stock up on plants. There are echinaceas, lobelia cardinalis, asclepias, rudbeckia, euthrochium spp., aquilegia canadensis, symphyotrichum novae angliae, liatris, shrubs, annuals and more. As you wander through the rows of plants, you'll be greeted by friendly staff who are more than happy to share their wealth of knowledge and gardening tips. I went there with my carefully curated list of plants determined to stick with it but as soon as I stepped foot into this botanical playground my addiction kicked in. The list was put away and I surrendered to the allure of Prickly Ed's plant bounty. I just can't help myself.

At this quirky Roadside Stand you’ll also find unusual, heirloom, extra colorful designer flowering annuals that will bring hummingbirds & butterflies to visit from miles away. Explore seasonal offerings of organic herb & veggie plants and take comfort in the knowledge that all of the plants sold at Prickly Ed’s are grown by top Northeast specialty growers in environmentally sensitive ways. Wow. Honestly, I had no idea what I was doing when I walked into J & J - I just knew I needed some…read morestone for the border of our property and some small gravel for a new patio. Kevin took me under his wing and explained everything, from what certain stones are typically used for to how some of them are man made (I'm a curious human). I got what I needed that day, made the order for delivery and went home happy. As they say, man plans and god laughs so of course I needed to move out the delivery - so I called them up and spoke with Gyda. What a pleasant woman! She was friendly, helpful and flexible. Even if there were cheaper places for what I was looking for, I'd go to J & J in Rehoboth.

It was raining, off and on, the day they delivered it, therefore Zi did not get a good look at it. I covered it with a tarp as I was working the following day. I used my wheelbarrow. The first load had me questioning what it was that they delivered. I filled the wheelbarrow again and spent more time picking sticks, over 4" in length, prices of wiring, glass. I filled a bucket with the junk I pulled out of it. I also noticed this "loam", seemed to be more of a sandy mixture. I attempted to reach out to J&J to ask if they "mistakenly" delivered the 50/50 mix instead of my screened loam. I sent a couple emails and something via messenger and I never received a reply. What they delivered seemed more like backfill from a construction site, this was not any type of good loam. I finally got someone to get rid of it from my front lawn as it was not usable. This was a waste of over $200 and they have a complete lack of customer service.
